  1. For the money I'd just go Z221 and be done with it. If you have other wheels/tyres for street use, just go all out and get a semi slick. Or Toyo R888 can be had pretty cheaply too, will have more grip than RSR, AD08, Z222/RS3 etc
  2. Great video Pete looks like heaps of fun. Do you know what time you did at the Wakefield test?
  3. There's lots of different models of Bride seat rails, some are one piece for bottom mount seats or two piece for side mount seats.
  4. That's the type of service I would hope for from a company like DBA. It's a strange one, I'm sure tonnes of people are running them without issue. I've ran mine through hillclimbs, tarmac rally, drifting, time attack events plus 20,000km of street driving too - no issues so far.
  5. What problems did you have with them? Mine seem spot on, really well made and bolt right in, plus they slide too which isn't a bad option to have. Mine were AU $300 delivered. Made to order by Bride too which is cool.
  6. You could ask Streeter or Import Monster to get a rail for you If it's any help the Bride FG rail in my S14 has a width of ~430mm between mounting points (you can adjust the width, maximum 430mm) That's plenty big enough for most regular sized seats. The FG rail is available for R34 too, in terms of an 'off the shelf' rail I think it's the best option. You could look at a Chinese rail like 'powerrail' too but i question the quality.
  7. Is the Sprint V side mount or bottom mount?
  8. I just bought a set of Hankook RS-3 (Z222) in 245/40r17 (255 is out of stock in Aus) Next weekend I'll test them at a Hilclimb in Newcastle, will report back on results
  9. It's tomorrow!
  10. Yep, Otomoto. http://www.otomoto.com.au/ Ben is one of the most helpful guys ever, it's really easy to get HSD parts in Aus.
  11. I think the RE11 is similar to AD08 but the RE11S is supposed to compete with the other semis
  12. Last time I'll spam this thread tonight... Has anyone used RE11s? A set of these has come up for sale in my budget, 235/45r17 and 2013 production. I can't find any info online regarding compounds or treadwear, the Bridgestone website doesn't say much at all.
  13. I should have said, my car is an S14 200sx but I don't think the weight would be too different to a Skyline.
  14. Ok thanks, I'll stay away. I checked out the Z221 and it's only the soft compound available, some stages are 30km long so I think they will be too soft.
  15. Are the R888 still a hit and miss tyre? I have a budget of around $1000 - $1200 for a set of tyres to use at the Great Tarmac Rally in Victoria. I used to live in a similar area to where the rally is being held and it was often damp/wet at this time of year but I can't be sure. There's some 2014 production Toyo R888 at St George Tyres for $1160/set in 245/40r17, could anyone suggest any other options for my budget? http://www.stgeorgetyres.com.au/tyres/toyo-tyres-245-40-17-proxes-r888/product-detail.aspx Cheers.
  16. I can't remember now, I'll try dig out some pictures. They just weren't anything special, grip from cold was average they needed heat in them to work, good grip when hot but no better than Federal RS-R or something like that. Pretty boring tyre, I wouldn't bother with them again. They are miles off being a semi slick too, it's just another road tyre like RS-R, KU36 etc.
  17. Did AGI do the seat mount too?
  18. Hey guys, Which compound Z221 is good for Tarmac Rally? My car is very mild, stock power S14, size is 235/45r17. http://www.hankooktire.com/global/competition-cars-tires/hankook-ventus-td-z221.html Cheers.
  19. The backing plates are anti squeal shims. Good to have but not essential for use. Try Taark, Kudos Motorsport or Streeter for the parts you need, should be readily available.
  20. I am looking for a set of 17x9" with an offset of +22 or similar, the wheels need to clear the suspension/guards on my S14 with no spacer. I might also consider an 8.5" set too, with an offset up to +30 but prefer lower. Looking for any genuine wheels, preferably Advan, Volk, Sparco, Weds, Enkei etc but happy to consider any brands. Cheers.
  21. Centrecaps pop up on YJP often, just keep an eye out.
  22. Thanks for the info and help. I bought the box off someone in 'great condition' but as with all gearboxes, you don't really know until you open it up. I could just return it to the person I bought it from, but strangely enough the rest of the box is as neat as I've ever seen an old small case box. I could remove that shaft and replace the idler gear, I've got 2 spares in good condition, I haven't seen an idler gear wear like that before. The car is my daily driver and I'm getting ready for a Tarmac Rally later in the year, I wouldn't ever put something in my car that was going to blow up! I'll call some places on Monday and see about labour costs for changing the gear, shouldn't be much in theory for a gearbox shop with a nice press.
  23. Hey everyone, I am looking for some advice about a worn reverse idler gear. My knowledge about gearboxes is very limited and I'm trying to work out the best course of action. Firstly, what does the reverse idler gear do? Or idler gears in general. The gearbox is S13 SR20 (same as all small case Nissan boxes) Secondly, the reverse idler gear in my gearbox is worn, clearly worn down on the teeth/engagement edges. The reverse main gear however looks OK, some wear but not wrecked. The idler gear would mesh with the drive gear - is that correct? Lastly, could I get away with not changing this gear? What would the consequences be? Difficult to get into reverse? I have spare parts gearbox so I could change the gear if need be, but I don't have the tools to do it at home which would mean sending to a shop and more money, I'm trying to use this gearbox as an interim fix until I rebuild my RB25 box so I'm not looking to spend a lot of money on it. The rest of the gearbox looks very neat to me, the synchros/dog teeth (unsure of correct terminology) all look OK, some wear but probably the best I've seen in a gearbox this old. The rest of the idler and main gears look good too. Pictures of worn gear and gearbox overall Wear on the reverse drive gear Wear on the reverse idler gear Thanks guys, any input would be appreciated
  24. Is anyone doing the Great Tarmac Rally? First weekend in October (long weekend) http://www.australiantarmacrally.com/great_tarmac_rally.html
