  1. What are the pro's? 90% of the time i'd prefer to see a wide tyre than a skinny tyre
  2. I think you'd benefit from something like 6kg front 4kg rear, if you don't plan to do any track work.
  3. They were taken on the back of trucks
  4. Good tip mate, I read of a few WRX's being knocked off last year. I won't be going this year, same cars, and every second car is a VL. Instead, I'm going to watch the drifting at Wakefield on Sunday.
  5. I'm not sure how common this is, but it was the problem with me and a few others I know. What I started drifting I often used the throttle too much, I tried to use the throttle to control how far the back of the car came out, this isn't the best technique I found. It is better to treat the throttle as a tool to keep the rear end slippery, only use enough throttle as you need to keep broken traction in the rear. Use your steering wheel to control the slide, this is a much better way to learn and will set you up well for later on when you start doing 120km/h+ corners in the dry. Much better to control the slide. Also, a good seat makes a huge difference, same with steering wheel.
  6. Any chance of a picture of this? I have some Weds Guild 17x9 I'd like to squeeze a 275/40 onto.
  7. Nice work, and cool idea with the 180 mate. Are you running an rb30 or rb20 turbo? Cheers.
  8. ^ This is good information. Depending on the universal joints installed in your tailshaft, they may be greasable. The stock items I removed from my tailshaft were not, though the aftermarket items i installed were.
  9. How old are they? Could be bad news.
  10. They did my friend's R33 S1 2door for $290, and my Aus R31 for $240, but we did them both together, perhaps they gave us a discount.
  11. $290 from the windscreen fellow located in up north, I'll get the details and get back to you mate, they did a nice job on my windscreen.
  12. Condition of turbo mate? Cheers.
  13. Speciality fasteners in Fyshwick should be able to sort you out I'd say? Not sure when they open again though.
  14. Hi, I have made a couple of things using some sheet metal (Not too sure what it is, was given an off-cut) its less than 2mm thick. I've been using an angle grinder to cut but it's been a bit messy (slaggy edges) and seems like an unnecessarily large tool for such thin metal. What would be a good tool to use here? Cutting straight lines, or very gradual angles. Would a jigsaw with an appropriate blade be better? Begin discussion! Thanks.
  15. The rears were quite high up, so there was a gap from the top of the spring to the spring seat, allowing me to compress the shock around 50mm. One of them did not return at all, just sat there. Walked away, new suspension on order!
  16. I guess the offset is +35 or something?
  17. What is the width and offset? How size tyre will you run?
  18. Thanks mate, I have sent you a PM also.
  19. You have a PM mate thanks.
  20. Thanks for the reply man, but sorry no use. I should have said, needs to be larger than stock rb20.
  21. Hello all, I am looking for a turbo for my R31 skyline (rb30). Basically anything which would suit and is good quality, and in good condition. Primarily I would like a stock rb25 turbo, but would consider anything at this stage just to get me going. Custom oil/water lines are in my budget so not a worry, needs to be t3 flange. Would anyone have anything suitable kicking around? Nothing ebay monsta etc. Cheers, Anthony.

  23. Once the spring is removed though? With springs in the coilovers i'd only be able to push down maybe 10mm. I've asked the guy to remove one of the camber tops so I can push the piston all the way down and see how well it returns.
  24. I would be interested in buying the VG30 unit if you don't end up using it
  25. I'm very very very new to drifting, but from what i've read/ the cars i've seen most people seem to run spring rates stiffer than 8/6 usually around the 12kg mark, generally drifting will be on solid smooth surfaces, you can deal with these sort of spring rates and they will aid your slides, compared to something 8kg or 6kg which would be too sloppy for track drifting. 8kg or 6kg spring are not very stiff at all.
