Hey guys just finished my s13 rb20 conversion now i have a bad missfire only runs on 5 cly constantly. Pulled out the ecu and found these numbers G8 23710 13V01 MEC-R721 A1 6618 its a black label now doing a google search it comes up as a rb25 ecu is this correct? is that whats causing my car to run like crap? if so what is the std ecu part number for a rb20 as i called a wrecker and they need them numbers to check for the correct ecu any help would be great cheers

dont go gl in essendon trust me! i worked at strathfield for 3 yrs installer and all i can say is dont go there or jb or anything like that best is big name places that are not comany owned, if u want a secure sub box take out ur sub and screw through ur box into the back seat or do it through the bottom of the box into the carpet but put a sheet of timber for it to grab onto and dont go too long of a screw you dont want to end up in the fuel tank

nah not a track car but if any damage happens up at winton he is screwed to get back to melb lol

did the noise occur as soon as u replaced the plug? maybe you got the wrong plug or wasent tightend correctly have you noticed more fuel being used or less power?

anyone else experience this?, i spoke to a mate he rekons i need to run a ign wire to power the coilpacks as they might not be getting full power which is strange because ive gone off the factory wires on the loom which are, black/red and white both joind to the black/red on the s13 loom which is factory ign, then ive got my white/black going to the factory red which is ecu backup i have read nothing at all about adding another ign wire to coilpacks if i was to give it a shot where to the coilpacks get power from is it the 3 pin plug near the ign module? thx

i think u can or even with a test light, they both hold positive but if u spin the crank angle sensor with ign on you will see one terminal of the injector go to a negative when it pulses

if it says acc could be anything that is accessories controlled such as ur cd player, cigarette lighter stuff like that so just look around for any shorts

just done it all i got was 55, all ok so very strainge that the ecu is saying all ok but the car runs on 5 cylinders constantly = ecu fried?

hmm i didnt really want anything for that sort of setup as i want to get the car running 100% before i start the mods, thanks anyways

as title states need a rb20det ecu asap, located in reservoir will come pick it up from melbourne metro call or txt Andrew - 0431 404 796 have cash waiting

also the ecu light stays on after i turn the car off i have no idea why

Hey every just finished my conversion yesterday and finally got it runnig. The story is the motor came out of a s13 so it was ready to go back in well it was just the mounts none of the wiring was done. I did the wiring which was fairly easy 2 wires ign one ecu memory and other is fuel pump everything else works fine. Now when i start it idles perfect can give it a few good revs for about 1-2mins and then it starts missing and wont go away. Ive changed eng loom tried 2 ignition modules 2 afms replaced coilpacks new spark plugs and changed o2 sensor. The only thing that i can think of is that i opend the ecu and found a burnt track, repaird that by soldering a wire and tested the track working perfectly could something else in the ecu be faulty? it also doesnt have the cold start valve so the hoses are just blocked for now. its really doing my head in and if anyone has an ideas would be a great help

My r32 used to have the same problem, lumpy idle and when i would give it to it would splatter only when it was warm. turned out one of the knock sensors was not plugged in theres two one near cyl 5 and other near cyl2 just under the intake manifold make sure there in or put ur ecu into diagnostic and check for error codes

also need a S13 ca-sr manual tailshaft

hey man its andrew, thx for the loom and cooler, plugged the loom straight in and started up first click! haha i dno what the hell happend to the old loom but it was fkd, i mounted the cooler and dumy fitted the pipes and its all good hopefully wil be finished 2moro thanks alot for ur help man if i need any other stuff ill pm ya

got a afm, anyone with a clutch slave for a 32? someone must have something lieing around???

does that include engine loom such as, the 3 injector plugs through to ign module and afm, through firewall to ecu? ill give u $100 if u have just that loom thanks

ok so ive got rubber between afm and turbo, also got pipe from bov to rubber between afm and turbo, still needing a clutch slave and afm anyone??

thats cool if your saying it worked fine in a rb20 most likely will be fine, just to get me going again anyway. Does it come with cylinder and push rod? and will you post to melb?

is the clutch slave off a mx7 or mf5, would u know if there the same as a rb20 slave? or maybe get some picks? thanks
