  1. Hey guys, im having a headache trying to pick which turbo i want!!!, i want bucketloads of response and torque for the street, and thats basically it, i wont be draggin the car much, and am aiming for a 12sec pass - which turbo is better suited for me?, i dnt think ill go over 250rwkw as a rough goal (+/- a little either way).... also, are s15 injectors all good if my goal is 250rwkw max?, i heard they can be picked up brand new from nissan for cheap?..... Im still keen on the gt2535, dnno why - maybe cause i still think they have more response than the gt-rs?.....which is what im going for......only problem is theyre 2nd hand only now - not really a biggie though, someone is selling one here in nz for quite a bargain.
  2. so the kai is for the gtr's?? i want the most responsive turbo i can get for my rb25 for street, that will run me in the mid 12's, ive heard something as small as a gt2535 could fit the bill?, but would the gt-rs be a better option? is this a good turbo? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-128263102.htm
  3. These kits you can still buy brand new, and i was told they are better than the old 2530's, was wondering if anyone has slapped one in their r33 gtst rb25det, and what the power response is like, im thinking either this, or a gt-rs turbo. since i dont wnt any lag at all
  4. So with a series 1 gtst, no need to change headlights???only front bar, bonnet?.......also, i dont wnt my car to look like a gtr, just want it to look different to every other gtst floating about. Ive seen a stst with gtr front and it look nice, and didnt look odd without the rear guards.... please stay on topic and advised what needs changing. thanks
  5. As per question, if i wanted to get a pair of r33 gtr front guards and put them on my series 1 r33 gtst, what else needs to be modified?and does anyone have pics of being done before?
  6. My r33 has been doing this alot lately, i can hear it the most when turrning the wheel at slow speeds(ie speed humps), and when pulling into a driveway at angle etc....it sounds like the squeel is coming from the rear, but i can hear the front as well.......sound travels though,.....what is this?and will it progressively get worst?
  7. i got a fibreglass drift wing lip for my r33 from them, and it was great, havent had any issues with it at all, and lines up perfect!!!, ive had it for a year now. Varied opinions i guess.....i have to admit, i had to get my spoiler imported to nz, and had to organise shipping back then aswell, and it was a bit of a pain, the guys kept mucking me around for ages.....in the end all good, the final product outweighed the hassle i had with the people.
  8. Hey guysm wheres the rb25det overfill drain plug on my r33 manual?, i think i have too much oil in there atm, does it jst stop once the oil has been filled to correct level like other cars?
  9. Hey any chance of posting some pics of some aftermarket grills for the r33 gtst, i want a gtr one, but they come in different styles, like type-m etc.....and price if possible thanks
  10. funny you say that, i sacrifised a spare for my sounds, but i could have had both in thier, but i didnt due to my sub/amp combo being as heavy as my spare(pretty much the same weight), so i thought one wouldve had to go ha ha.Besides, i tried using my spare once, and trust me, it didnt seem safe at all.!
  11. Cheers guys, done it today, all bolted straight up like you guys all said, damn the r33 gtr rear seats are like bucket seats in their own respect hahhaa. One of the best purchases ive made, rock solid seats, but support like hell
  12. Is this a straight bolt in mod, to replace my coupe r33 gtst seats with r33 gtr ones???i was told that they bolt in all the same.please help, also whats the easiest way to reove the rear base of the seats(it seems very tight when i tried )
  13. im not after candy thanks:), jst something red, but which looks good, i need more pics of active red from an r34.....its probably the color im after.
  14. ok thanks guys, at the moment my amp is placed on the sub box(behind the box). The box is placed right in the middle of the boot(its a 12" subbox), and looking into the boot, the amp is on the right side - so very close to the battery - maybe 10-15cm.....this may well be the cause of my issues(fingers crossed.......)its wierd though, its only when i put the 2nd set of rca leads into my headunit, when the humming/engine noise comes up.... p.s would a inline noise filter fix my problem? and would i have to get one for the amp and headunit side to fix?does this degrade sound quality?
  15. As per topic, where do most ground there headunit, and there amp(if its in the boot), in an r33 skyline???, why i ask.....because im getting engine noise coming through my car speakers, most likely due to bad ground loop.....or it could be bad rca cable....wat gauge wire rca lead should i get?.....i have 2 preouts on headunit
  16. thanks, so its good to have the sub facing the boot, so that it reflects off the boot 9end of car), and then the bass flows back around into the front of the car?.....i removed that plate from the back of my seat aswell
  17. Hey guys, i just installed a 12" sub into my r33 boot, and was wondering which way i should have it facing in the boot for best punchy bass, right now it facing towards the ass end of the car, some people say that having it face towards the rear seat is a better option, its an enclosed box btw not ported or anything. thanks
  18. i like more hard firm ride from the seat, not much movement, and i have a small frame....
  19. Hey guys, i brought a brand new sony headunit, and the only thing i dislike about it is the color of the display screen(which is sort of purple coloured)......i would rather have it plain black, like how the clock panel is etc in a r33 .... ive attached a pic to show you which part i mean...
  20. mmm, mixed reviews, thanks for the honest replies, anyone else care to gimme honest reviews for the r33 gtr seats?ive only heard good things, but gtrgeoff has been a first for bad.....all the comments are very helpful...
  21. cheers dude, will do
  22. I recenetly installed a new sound system into my r33 and have got an issue: basically the headunit has 2x preouts, and ive run two sets of rca leads from my headunit to the amp in the boot, , now if i plug in only one set of rca leads into either the headunit or the amp, the static noise is fine, and everything is ok. But if i plug in both sets of pre outs, the static noise is much more apparent, and once the car is turned on, this little hum turns into a loud high pitch noise coming from the tweeters from my splits...... what could this problem be?, im getting really frustrated, im thinking either: a)crossover to tweeters, as its really only the tweeters making the noise (from both splits) 2)need better rca cables, more shielded ones? also, this sounds gets louder the more i rev the car.....alternotaor whine?
  23. Thanks mate, id rather the seats hold better, than the soft feel, so i think ill go with the r33 gtr seats:), since they are in mint condition, and the guy is selling for aud $850 including front/rear seats plus rails etc...
  24. Hahah, yeh drop the coilovers down a little, trust me, 18's look just right on the 33's. I was really considering buying the work meisters as well, theyre real tough looking rims!!!, make sure you get x10's:)
  25. ps: the key to having good looks on an r33 ireckon, is have 18's, 19's a little big, and get the right offset, for a gtr, im pretty sure x10's fill nicely, i have x9.5et30 on my r33 gts25t and they look phat, and staunch, so if youre going to be spending the $$$ i hope you get the right size rim and offset too:) good luck
