Hey guys, i got a series 1 r33 gtst, and i can get a really good price on some nice r33 gtr seats (the blue trim ones).....i dont know what to do, ive been searching for seats for quite some time now, and my car is primarily street, no track work, maybe the odd day in a year at the most.... im wondering how these seats compare to say a recaro sr3 etc....the deal is for front and rear seats, and they are in top notch condition!

Hey guys, i got a pioneer 12" 305c dvc sub, and was wondering the best sort of amp to buy for it, and how it should be wired up, its dual coil @ 4ohm...... I also have some infinity splits that are 90w rms each that need to be amped aswell, as my headunit cant handle them (they are infinity reference series), ill leave my headunit running the rear fill speakers though. Theres a 4 channel jvc amp im looking at buying, its rated at 100w rms per channel please check the link:) http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-126336127.htm

Hey guys, just wondering what you guys think of my completed project to have my psp in the glovebox of my r33, with all wires hidden, and an extra cig lighter enclosure so even that will all be hidden at the end, sound will run off the aux input on my headunit:). I made a cardboard template of the enclosure first, then got some 4.75mm mdf board cut it accordingly, and wrapped it in some black suede sort of material, and tapered it in the ends. The psp is easily removed from the console as its been velcro strapped on, and is very sturdy, trust me i open and closed the glovebox several times and hard and the psp did not budge at all - so the velcro gets my approval:) let me know what you guys think, P.S: The passengers all love it, and i use it as a mp3 player aswell:)

what metal sheet is this mate???, im thinking of doing this in my r33?how big is this metal sheet?

As per title, need some ideas, i have a pioneer 305c 12" sub, with a closed sealed subbox, and was wondering where in the boot the sub works best.....i was wanting to create an mdf peice of the backing board that hides the battery in the boot, and mount my amp + 12" sub to it....would this be a good idea?
-
Hey guys, just recently aquired a really good setup for my r33, and have been doing alot of wiring etc in the past few days....now ive come to a big hurdle....basically ive found that in a r33 the spare tire pretty much supports the things you put in your boot(directly above it) I removed my spare, and put back the existing shelf(which is very thin and cheap material), and was hoping to put my sub/amp on top...it just flexes, and i dare not try putting it there without holding onto my sub/amp as i think the flimsy shelf board for the base of the boot would snap in half.... i need some ideas on what i should do, i was thinking of just mdf"ing the whole boot as one tray from end to end???.,......and then carpeting it, that way ill have solid support for my fairly heavy sub woofer...... what have others done on this forum to make up for the poor tray in the boot that supports everything you put in there.

Hey guys, ive just mounted my new tweeters into my r33 door panel, and was wondering what the best place would be to mount my crossovers for the splits....i was thinking somewhere behind the doortrim???, and maybe using double sided tap or something?
-
Hey guys, im really looking at upgrading my current audio system in my r33, and would like to know if i should worry about the sub/amp weighing down my car, i mean, i guess it does to an extent? What do others think about all of this???, i know its true at the end of the day, but can you justify the weight increase?

Hey guys, i just bought a new amp for my splitsand 12" pioneer sub, i need to know the best way to amp everything up. Basically, i have some really nice 90w rms splits (180w rms total), they are infinity references 1020cs's midrange+tweeter fronts (which i want to amp), and i also have a pioneer 12"sub/box which i want all connected to my 800w amp. Whats the best way to run everything???, my headunit has only 1 rca pre-out, but my amp has 2 pre-ins(4 channels), as you can see in the pic, i was told to buy splitters, and run each rca to 2 channels on the amp(which in turn makes it 4 channel), thus i can use all four channels of my amp(is this correct)??? Anyway, my main concern, is i have a rear channel and a front channel on the back of my amp, which channel should i amp the splits to, and which channel should i amp the sub too, and will the split's internal crossover allow me to still have my high frequencies, or will i need to set the crossover on the amp to allow for this????
-
Thanks for your help mate, when running the amp to the slits, do i run the low pass to the slits 6.5"woofer, and high pass to the splits tweeter?is that how it would work???, and also is it possible to have too big an amp? which could possibly damage my speakers?(how will i know what amp would work best for my speakers?).....i may look into getting a sub in the future, but for the time being im thinking of just buying some splits for the fronts, maybe 6x9s in the rear, and amping them.
-
Hey guys, my new infinity 6.5" splits are about to arrive anytime now, and need to know what i need to do to get some good front sound stage. I heard these speakers are very good quality, so im really crossing my fingers on this one.... Ive got a pioneer 50w x 4 headdeck, some average pioneer 6" rear speakers, and no sub and amp. My question, i just want good bass/mids for the sound system, and preferably in the front, my mate is going to give me his 800w boshman amp, shoulkd i use the amp to power the splits???since its 4 way? how should i setup my sytstem, i dnt wnt to add a sub if i dnt have to.

so this is a common thing with the r33's?the rattling that is, if i was to professionally deaden my car, how much would it cost all up?also, road noise kills my sub, i mean it sounds awesome when the car is off and playing the music, once i driving on the road at whatever speed, it just loses alot of bass, whats this got to do with?, and does this usually mean i need a better sub?
-
I ask this question because i have no sound deadening in the booth at the moment, and theres a crapload of rattling coming from somewhere in the boot with my kenwood sub with 2 ports out of the box, maybe a closed box wors better with the r33 boot?.........the rattling really gets to me, how can i get this fixeD?im looking for a new sub anyhow. thanks

Hey guys, as title, i know theres four bolts that need to be taken out, and theres four screws for the motor aswell?, my window is up at the moment,(and does come down), will i need to hold it up when i remove the motor?.....also, is there anything else i should know about before going ahead with the replacement?
-
Just thought id let you know, i bought some rota gtrs(p45r) for the front and rear of my r33 (x9.5" all round).....ive had em on for 2 years now, best rims ive ever had, never had any problems with them, and everyone comments on how good the rims look!!!, yeh theyre nismo lmgt4 copies, but not bad at all, and for 1/3 the price, i payed AU $1750 for a set of brand new 4 x 9.5" gloss black rims. P.S: they are light let me tell you that much, mine weighed in at around 7-8kgs each, compared to my old dishes which were like 23kgs each...do the math... i love em.

Installed Headunit And New Speakers, No Bass!
nsta replied to nsta's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
thanks for all the help dude, ive had heaps of thoughts going through my mind for ages now, but ive decided on some decent front splits, and see how we go for the time being, without any additional speakers.....Im not going to run ridiculous amounts of bass through the splits (im not much of a bass junkie). Will a 6.5" speaker fit in the factory pod?, and if it does, how can i modify the pod for a bit more mid bass, i heard of diffusers do a good job?, where can i buy these though? -

Another quick question, how the hell can we replace the speaker wire in the fronts?, cause if was to run my new splits to an amp, id like to buy some decent wirring, right now, im jst using the stock wiring.I cant see a hole around the door panel area where i could route the wiring into to get back inside the car, and run it down the side.....theres one near the edge of the door panel with a gromet(all the wiring going through), but its tight as hell, cant see anything getting through it!. -

Whats the best way to run these speakers?, ive decided to just get good front splits(which should arrive fairly soon), is it worth running these splits off an amp if theyve got a built in crossover???,my new pioneer headdeck is 50wx4. -

I http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Qnt7f85xvDz/A...spx?i=1086020CS heres what im getting for my fronts, what you guys think, ive heard they really good speakers! -
Hey guys, my current situation, is that i dont have much money to spend on my sub/amp combo, ive done all the wiring for the amp to be in the boot, now all i need is the amp and sub, im wanting to place the sub underneath the parcel tray next to my battery in my boot, and possibly have the amp mounted on the sub box, this way im not sacrificing any boot space, i saw a pic of an r33 with this setup on these forums, and was wondering what type of size sub will accomplish this, and whether or not its a good idea? Please give me some ideas for a low level sub/amp combo if possible, and would any of you guys reccomend running components(splits) off your amp or not? Basically im not much of a bass junkie or anything, its just my bass with the fronts/rears are not all that great atm, and its very boomy....do most amps allow all low frequencies to be pass through to the sub(kind of like home theater)?

the phase part was right:), my rear phase was way off, but it seems the fronts are having the same issue, but swapping out the neg/pos dnt seem to affect anything?
