  1. bump.......i hear alot about the s03's,but nothing about the s02's.Also,is it a bad idea to mix and match front and rear pairs of tyres(eg bridgestones in the rear, toyo's in the front)???
  2. Really keen on importing these rims, only come in two flavours though for 18" 18 x 9.5, at +25, and +38 offset The +25 has a deeper look to the wheels..... Would i be able to fit as follows: 18 x 9.5 +38 with 235/40/18 Front 18 x 9.5 +25 with 265/35/18 Rear........still looking into 285's as an option too. guards have been lipped thats all on the r33 gtst coupe.
  3. are the bridgestone s-02 pp's a good tyre for the street???
  4. please pm me with price quote, those are definitely the right spring rates
  5. Hey guys, im on the prowl for some new tyres for my line....i have an r33 coupe, and to put it short, a special deal is going on for a couple of Bridgestone S-02 PP N3's (285/35/18). I need to know 3 things: 1) Will 285's fit under the guards (rear) of my r33 w/o too much problems?will i need to camber the rears 2) Will my 9.5" rear rim size be fine for the 285 tyres (currently on 265's) 3) Will i benefit from going 265 - 285, other than the fact im going from el cheapo Kumho's to Bridgestone Pole Position's, will i get better off the line traction? 4) Sorry had to add last question, most importantly would you reccomend these tyres for the street, for a lighlty modded r33 gtst skyline, hardly ever goes on the track. cheers for all that reply!
  6. sorry mate, my no's were way off.....and to my suprise, checking my spring rates after pulling out the wheels....here are the figures... Front: 62.180.014 (no typo here!) Rear: 62.200.006 That front spring rate is extreme..... One thing though, even though the rear has more height adjustment then the fronts, the rear doesnt go nearly as low as the front can....is this common with r33's?
  7. the tyres i can get in this size are 285/35/18's and they are bridgestone s-02 pp n3's.....any1 heard of these tyres before, i know the s-03's are out now. Can any1 reccomend these tyres?
  8. as long as i can go as low as i can now with my coilovers im happy(just for show days i tend to drop it). The lowest possible setting on the coilovers for the rear, as not very low keep in mind.........so if i can keep the springs the same length, or longer (so i can go lower) that would really help. cheers i'll get back to you l8r on about my correct spring rate/id/height
  9. "The free height difference in the front (180 mm versus 200 mm) can be accommodated in the height adjustment. Which you will have to do anyway as the lower rate springs will compress more with the weight of the car on them." does this mean the new springs will be 200mm height adjustables, like the rears currently, does that mean the car will go lower
  10. cheers, will it definitely be the rears that are causing me the problems mate?and since atm the rears are 6kg, putting those to the front and say 4kg to the rears, would that be a good combo?it definitely feels as those the wheels are off the road at certain times, and having set the damper to soft doesnt make much difference. For what its worth, the damper adjusts both bound/rebound cheers, p.s pm me iwth some rough estimates for the rear springs, im in nz btw thanks
  11. Thanks heaps mate. I just checked my rear springs, and to my suprise they are 200.16.006, so only 6kg in the rear, as oppose to the 8kg stated on the website, i will check my fronts tommorow, it will either be 12kg (as website states), or 8kg, like the others on the site, maybe they realised 12/8 is an extreme cambination for r33's?......either way even with 6kg rears, i still get a harsh ride.... Sydneykid, i will get you my coil details tommorow, as they are written on the coil itself, should b easy as.......once you get the details, will the springs you supply(if you do), be a perfect fit for my shocks? Last question....what does changing spring rates effect, and will it have much impact handling wise?, and will i still have height adjustability?
  12. for rwd cars, front heavy, would i need to change the front ro rear spring rates to lessen the bumpy ride?, the fronts are extreme at 12kg, and the rear are 8kg, which generally are 6kg with coilovers!
  13. Hey sydneykid, will the whiteline springs you haveas part of your package work in my situation?my 12kg r/8kg f, is much more extreme then even the hks/tein suspension which is generally 8r/6f..... it all makes alot of sense now, but imdefinitely going to have to change the springs.....whats invloved in doing this, do the springs have to be sized to fit the coilover shock???
  14. k ill c what they can do
  15. Thanks alot people for your help. Need to understand a few things....... Now i have coilovers, what options do i have......i hear that you can change the springs(which in effect changes spring rate????), if so what springs should i be going for, and does this have to be a factory option, or can i put say the stock springs, or whiteline springs fitted. How can i interchange springs within coilovers, or how does the workshop do it???, and is it a straightforward process to do? Will i still have height adjustment after changing springs, and will this affect damper settings(or is that all part of the shocks)??? sorry if i sound newbish but i am lol cheers
  16. yeah i currently have 265 on rear,my guards are lipped though, not rolled
  17. got any pics of 285's on ur car mate?you say no modding to get it under the guards.....any rubbing at all? please post pics of the rubber, and will 18x9.5 b fine?
  18. can they soften the springs for me?
  19. my wheels are 9.5inches wide rear, dont know offset, but close to +40 id think
  20. is that pretty much the same across the board (like teins, hks, spexi etc....) why are jap spec coilovers so tight
  21. Hey guys, ive been advised that the series 1 r33 gtst bonnets are quite lightweight from factory, as i was going to buy a fibreglass version of it, butr was told not to, as its not worth it if youre just after goign lighter than stock.....can someone shed me some light on this subject? also is it possible to get a carbon fibre vinyl that makes my bonnet look like cf?
  22. As topic suggest, is it possible to fit 285's on the rear of an r33 gts25t coupe?the only reason i ask, is cause i can get a set of 2 for a very very good price, and if i can fit it then why not, btw the are bridgestone s02's brand new 285/35/18's for my rear also is there any benefit in getting 285's, or should i pass up the offeR?
  23. anyone bought a dstyle wing from carmate, i got one imported and it seems as though it doesnt fit quite right with my guards.......doesnt sit flush when looking from side? can anyone confirm these wings need modifying or is that how its suppose to look, please send pics with ones bought from them if you can cheers
  24. cheers mate, thanks heaps.....more if you could, its not suppose to be completely flush with the guard when looking from side is it???? Also is that a carbon fibre wing?or have you just put vinyl on top?if so id like to know how looks very nice which is lighter carbon fibre or fibreglass??
