  1. I had a problem similar to yours, in the worst case .....the car would have big trouble starting. Ended up being the vaccum going from the little black box to the back of manifold was bristly and starting to tear (after adding a T peice), replaced the hose and all is fine.
  2. haha, yeah bunta definitely not induction noise, as im not really tapping the throttle at all when i hear the noise, usually hear it when im just cruising around. The induction noise does sound more pronounced with a hybrid though
  3. i alredy bought my mesh, doesn't loo cheap at all, and besides when black whos going to notice:) any pointers on fitting the mesh? Cheers Al for the comments, you car was my inspiration hahahah
  4. hahaha yip you got it genuine Hybrid gt spec....yeh not too annoying lol, no yet anyways
  5. Just wondering if everyone else noticed a whistling sort of sound just after fitting a fmic to their r33 gtst? i hope its not jst me, theres no leaks to be found, and the cooler runs fine on boost? Im thinking its the sound of the air going through the fins from the cooler, but amplified cause its larger than stock???
  6. exactly what im going to do, spray the mesh black and put it on nxt time i have the bumper off
  7. Just wondering if theres anyone on here who knows of a front splitter for a type m front bar off a series 1 skyline, im really after something like that to add to my bumper, it needs a lip/splitter! Wil i have to custom make one?
  8. hey kennedy srry bout the delay, lol forgot all about posting the pic of the middle cut type m front bar. here ya go:)
  9. Hey guys, i just bought a couple of r33 gtr rear quarters for left and ride side. This will be an ongoing project but once i find some decent gtr guards i'd like to make my r33 gtst pumped! Just wondering if anyone has done this, and roughly how much it cost to have the guards put on/welded smoothed and then resprayed. Im thinking of doing the whole project at the same time of a respray, but atm im just gathering parts as they come (no hurry). I was thinking of placing the guards on top of my current guards to have a more wider look, while being able to put big feet on the rear/front respectably. Long project probably wont start till early next year, but advice would really help, as well as how much $$$ to save up for. I knw ppl are going to say y not jst get an r33 gtr, but im after a hybrid sort of beast gtst, daily driven but different still Im a 3d modeller so i'll be modeling my project before even starting.I'm thinking of keeping the type-m front with the front guards off a gtr, so stretching the type m front to fit. tell me what you think, and if its worth the hassle.
  10. mmm i guess theres another thread similar to this elsewhere on this forum, i wish i could find it searched around alot. But can be bothered looking through the 1000+ pages in the galleries hahah
  11. cool i guess a normal one would cost me around $300 then, that sounds fair. though i dont want to be having to do it heaps of time lol btw what did you change first once getting the gtr, just general maintenance parts?
  12. nice pic man, just found some good gtst ones
  13. cool thanks, what else did he check for $150 that seems like a good price, was it a friend mechanic, sorry ive never done one b4
  14. you sound like you done a 3yr automotive course cause over here the 3rd year is where you do volunteering work for mechanics/workshops etc...
  15. yeh ive learnt heaps of the internet too, even by reading mags/proper automotive books etc....just sux when you have all this knowledge, but cant put it to the test!
  16. As the title reads, i thought id make a thread with posts of ur fav skyline pics to date, im sure alot of u's have pics on ur pc to admire! ill start off:)
  17. cant find such a course here:( was it hands on course training, or more the theory based stuff, and did ya hav to do apprentice training?
  18. Im assuming if i look hard enough i'll be able to find a clean r32 gtr, non 89 import for around the 23k mark???
  19. lol i got a budget sort of set hahah, has done the job for me in the past, but like you said, not really a good TOOL set.
  20. nice, so kind of like private courses then, ill look into it, thanks, did you do it part time like after hours sort of?
  21. nah just as a hobby to work on my own cars, ive learnt alot from just watching and talking to people, though i'd like to start using my hands. Um what are TAFE courses?i dont think we have those in N.z?
  22. Hey i was hoping to do a full strip and rebuild myself, my mates a mechanic who could guide me, sure would be the best training i could get, as im so willing to learn! Though i have no point in a rebuild atm, touch wood lol
  23. thanks, im still deciding, have so much on my mind right now, but with gtr's how many km's should i be looking for....somewhere below the 100,000km mark??? and would i be better off not importing and getting one from here in New Zealand. BTW how much do leakdown/compression tests cost?
  24. mmm, i've seen some classifieds lately where workshops are hirings guys with little no know real world hands on experience, as it seems that they only need you to have theory based knowledge. So like computers i guess its really hands-on when you learn the most....sorry im in the IT industry and could relate hahah
  25. yeh like i said, im pretty good when it comes to theory, just have not really been able to step up from there, which sucks, i have done small things myself though, installed fmic, air filters, bov's things like that, but nothing too serious.
