Hey i'm about to buy a type m front bumper for my r33 series 1, and was wondering if i can just unbolt the section where the no.plate goes, so it leave more air open to a front mount....... or do i have to get a panel beater to cut off the section......? the pic shows where im talking about

Hey guys, i think its time to ugrade my stock intercooler, as ive bought a type m front bar for easier fitment. Mods so far are just pod and exhaust I'm wanting to get a full i/c kit inc piping so i can fit it all myself, and would like the hole where my standard i/c piping goes through to be free, so i can get some sort of cold air feed going on for my open pod (heat shielded), coupe r33 gts-t My budget is ~ $1000, what would most go for with my budget?, i heard r33 gtr coolers are a great upgrade, but at the same time i was thinking a hybrid kit would do the job???just need some thoughts on the subjet. Also, i bought one of those tubonet boost taps, but havent upped the boost yet as im waiting for the cooler to go on, whats a safe limit after upgrading the standard cooler.....around 11 psi? thanks in advice

cheers for all the responses guys, like someone else said on here, my gauge is very inaccuarate, i tapped up the boost the other day, and it still reads ~6.7psi on my factory gauge, so i bought a aftermarket for that reason, still have yet to recieve it though the aftermarket will definitely show me if my boost tap is working or not.

No offence, but the laws aren't nearly as bad here, and most things go around here........im in new zealand. I want to place it somewhere practical and neat....imdefinitely going for a gauge cup though.........

Hey guys, just go an apexi gauge from the states, and was wondering how most here mount their gauge?, im thinking of jst gettin a cup and mounting it behind the sterring wheel with the factory gauges, pics would help, jst need some ideas, the gredyy dual pillar mount sounds nice but too expensive for my liking

Hey guys, just thinking about future mods, and was wondering if i should get a 25det manifold with external wastegate pipe before actaully getting an external wastegate. By the way why would one get a 25t manifold, is it just to strengthen??/will it help performance? Also how big a wastegate should i be looking for when wanting around 220-250 odd rwkw, and what make, i hear of spring tensions for these things, what exactly are they and how much should i want?....tial offer like .5, .7, .9 and 1bar springs???

I'm thinking of getting an external wastegate, any reccomendations as to how big/small i should go for 200-250rwkw, and brand type tial/hks??, and if theres any harm in getting one so early in my build up, ive heard these things sound nice on the 25-t's:)

mmm..........i was thinking of spending as i go, but from the looks of things, itd be better to have a budget in mind:) Would you guys say it'd be a good start, having a fmic installed, and a split dump pipe fitted to start things off, then go from there? if reliability was the key for me, would the 200ish rwkw sound about right for me to aim for?

Hey guys, im wanting to start getting more power from my r33, and thought this is the place to come........ To start things off,i have a 94 r33 skyline gts25t coupe,done 167,000 kms.....running very nice, had to have manifold studs replaced about 5000kms ago and thats about it. 3" rage exhaust, front pipe catback and rear muffler, no dump pipe. Apexi Pod filter Auto, but goes well. Where should i go from here?, i'd like to have a daily driven, track potential street 25t, capable of around low 12's.....is this too big an ask?Considering the age of the car. I just got a $22 boost tap before, but dont know whether to up the boost yet or not???........but i will be getting a dump pipe soon......and from there i dont know where i should start spending the money.

Cool thread, just got a boost tap, and while i cant run much boost at the moment, when i do tap it up a little,i experience severe missfiring in gears 2 and over????, will a front mount help?or is it more a fuel issue?

Could someone please tell me if i have done it all right or not????, i followed the instructions, though i cant tell until my boost gauge arrives if the tap is working or not, though if i wound the end in a bit, i get major missfiring, or spiking i think its called, so im guessing its working?

Cheers guys, just to make sure, when these rb25's spike, is it like a mad missing sort of noise that occurs?, cause i've wounded my boost down heaps so i get no spiking, but the other day when i turned it up a bit, second gear would run till the higher revs, where a missing/popping sound will occur....is this Spiking or something elsE? Its definitely not a good sound:)

Hey guys, still having a few issues with the tap........ive manage to get it to run w/o any spikes......but i dont think its working as its not raising any boost?running stock (reading from the factory gauge)???i'll post pics tommorow. By the way would the high boost mod have anything to do with this??? Just out of curiousity, +3.5 on the factory r33 boost gauge (where +7 is the max) would be how much boost in PSI????

Please can someone post an install for an r33 rb25det!!! I have been using the high boost solenoid mod until now, and was wondering if thats whats not letting me run the controller right??? Ive tried, but cant get the controller working right, and do not want to ruin anything Please help me get my car running a bit more boost:) Thanks
