Thanks all, narrowed down my decision to gettin an rb25detbox.....should i still go heavy duty or not though?what type of clutch did others here use??? how much are these boxes btw? thanks
-
Hey guys, just wondering if i should do this, as someones putting an rb20det gearbox in an r32 gtr. The main advantage here to me is price, a 20det over here can cost near nothing, whereas the rb25 can cost up to $$2500! Im converting my r33 gts25t auto to manual, and would like to know what you all think of this as an option???? Also, what other things should be upgraded at the same time when the conversion takes place???, is heavy duty clutch the way to go?if yes which type should i go for? thanks

Hey guys, ive decided to go for an r32gtr, and im mostly concerned about the handling characteristics of these cars. Im hoping to get a stock gtr, maybe slightly tuned, then mod-heavy suspension on it, needing guidance on where to start....Ive heard the atessa system are interchangeable between the gtr models, and some say the 34 atessa upgrade is well worth it....? Im not really going for alot of power with the gtr, as a stock car with exhaust/pod....will give me more than enough before i start to get serious, and i definitely want to go more track than drag:) So speaking from experience, how do these r32 gtr's handle from factory???, and where can i improve in this department....these too have hicas,is that a big issue with the gtr's as it is with the gts-ts (like my r33:)

How To Tell If Bushes Are Stuffed?
nsta replied to eXc's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I have hicas, and yes loose rearend (r33 25t coupe), but for the most time it never is an issue, only at the limits the loose rearend is vicious so much that its very hard to get back right, would a hicas lock be something i should look into? -

Touge (mountain Passes) Car, What Would You Get???

Thanks everyone for the help, mountain passes (hillclimbs) only for certain events that id like to participate in, and for the track of course. I just would like to know how much handling improvements you can get out of these 25t's?, i would like to go for fairly good power (200 - 220 rwkw), whilst still maintaining good low down-midrange power and handling to boot. Im just a bit scared as ive had a few heart-stopping experiences with the car (3 to be exact), its more a thing that i dont recieve enoiugh feedback from the car when its at it's limit, and next thing you know without any warning the car flicks out viciously, spinning out.I heard hicas has something to do with it, its one thing that gives me the creeps about the car, and to be honest, i feel its not letting me push what seems to be a good contender. My shocks are stock, and springs are lowered (got the car this way), i heard this is a no-no combo? One another subject, the r32 gtr has been somehting ive looked into alot, if i decide to take this route, i definitely will buy one from here, instead of importing and pay the extra $$$ for better deal in the long run. How would an r32 compare???what makes them a better car?, is it just the meer potential for power and easy power, and its handling what? -

20k?,im pretty sure both are very similar, i just need to know how well the r32 would compete in the twisties.....im very keen on getting one,and am aware of the dying imports that have recently flooded the market. Please help me out,i definitly want to let go of the 33 25t for something better suited for the track.... -
Hey people,im really thinkin of selling my r33 gts-t and getting someting more suited for the mounts, and trackdays etc..i would like power, but not too much, more bottom end/midrange would do fine. 2 contenders for me, r32 gtr and rx7 s6 fd. I need some honest opinions. I need something that handles great, ive heard both these cars are reliable in that department, and im going for grip driving more than drift. I know there are more cars to choose from, but i narrowed them down to these ones, fairly simlar pricing etc.....though i could pick up an fd rx7 import for quite cheap. One thing though, i knw nothing about the rotaries....so could that bias my decision to the rb26 or not?
-
alright, thanks for that, just learning as i go, btw people, what kind of bottom end 0-100 figures can you expect from these r33t's after abit of work??? With a pod/exhaust, and some good auto launching:),i can get a 5.5s to hundred constant, thats w/o loss of traction.

So the dump pipe im looking at will be for my stock internal wastegate, cheers.just needed to confirm.... Btw how much power can you get from the stock turbo anyhow?ive got the s1 r33
-
cheers for the reply guys, when you say split dump, how do these differ from a standard dump pipe(which i was thinking of getting)? reccomendations for spark plugs please, i think its time i got new ones..... Also, how big an intercooler should i get, ive seen these things get alot of power out of fairly small ones, like 400x300.....id like to keep my front bar intact, and just modify it a little to fit the front mount. How much would i be looking at for a compression test? Btw, just for straight line use, what tyre pressure would you use for my car currently: 235/18@36psi 265/18@32psi See this link for a dump pipe im thinking of getting, the guys are saying its good for 10rwkw,which id be more than happy with, this is a split dump right, as it has the separate wastegate pipe which meets up again near the end...... http://www.japaneseperformanceparts.com/rb...4a8d4c03f1f0a62 its 250.00nz though?,i hear of these going for 600-800 on these forums, hoax maybe?also if i was to get an aftermarket turbo, with an external, would that render this pipe useless?

Hey guys, ive had my 25t for around 2 years now, love the car, but now im hungry for power, alot more!!! Its a 94 spec, r33 coupe, its done 160,000kms, i know, its alot, is it worth the hassle, im hoping so. -rb25det -apexi power intake filter (heat shielded, though no feed running to it apart from the stock funnel intake) -3" Rage exhaust system 18" dtm wheels: 235x8.5 front, 265x9.5 rear, rolling on Kumho 712's ecsta's allround (theyre not the best tyres i gtta admit) -Oh yeah and its auto.... Apart from that, its basically stock, where i want to go with this???.....hoping for around high 12's daily driven on street tyres, but my main concern is to have it handle good, as i would like it to be street/track ready I had to have my manifold studs replaced as they where cracked......but seems to be stable again.Ive also noticed alot of missing every now and then when on boost??? I need to know if im aiming too high or not.....and where i should start my journey, i dont even have a boost gauge right now.......... I was thinking of getting my dump pipe replaced, good place to start? i heard theres several types you can get, ones with screamers etc...what am i looking for? Last question, how much rwkw am i aiming for if i would like to achieve high 12's??? p.s, im from NZ, but prefer this site for info, as its got lot more on r33's where you guys are. hope you like the pics

cheers, so is -1 rear, -1.5 front a good starting point for street/track work???, also will camber lower the car slighlty or not? how much are kits for these 25t
-
Hey guys, i would like to adjust the camber on my r33. My r33coupe is lowered but only slightly, and i want to adjust front and rear: -1.5/-1.0 respectably. I was told that i could adjust camber on my r33 when i do my next wheel alignment, is this true, or would i have to get a camber kit???Using stock suspension at the moment
