I've been meaning to service the trans, once i find a decent trans shop nearby ill do it... So a service would include flushing (opposed to draining) the fluid and new seals / filter??

Hi all, How does everybody find the auto trans in their S2? I've noticed that under full load it vibrates a fair bit (especially in the midrange) and its not smooth as it used to be...Is this normal? Shifts seem to be fine and it always selects the correct gear - Maybe a shift kit or service is in order? 90,000k and no idea when the last auto service was done... Can anybody recommend a good auto trans place in sydney? adrian

Agreed, you do sit pretty low... With my standard seats I had the steering wheel at its highest position, now with the GTR seats the wheel is pretty much as low as it goes. Ill see if i can measure the height difference I'm 5"10 and to be honest find it just high enough... My wife who is 5'5 or so cracked the shits as she think its too low for her to drive (no complaints from me though!!

Hey Mate, Has the Nistune been fitted / Tuned? I've got a 99 RSFour (auto) which I believe is the same as yours but was told from Matt (at Nistune) that the RSFour isn't compatible with a nistune board... Thanks, Adrian.

Finally got the $$ to replace the so called seats in my S2... Upgraded to some GTR seats and they are so much better... although they are lower and im not quite used to it yet they hold you so much better... best of all they are a direct bolt on! Worthy upgrade if anybody is considering new seats. Also upgraded the caster and camber bushes to some Whiteline replacements.... For all the S2 RS4 drivers make sure you purchase the KCA332 kit(for GTR) not the KCA331 (as the group buy recommends which are for a GTST)!! The old caster bushes were ruined when being removed so thankfully replacements came overnight! Anybody else who has replaced these bushes... Noticed much of an improvement? Some people complain about the extra noise but to be honest I cant really notice much of a difference

Check your battery terminals...In particular the red factory nissan plug that connects your fuse box.... My lights and stereo would randomly turn off for a second and at times the car did too - not good in traffic... I ended up getting rid of the red plug and soldered an eyelet directly to the cable. Car hasnt played up since...Let me know if you want a pic adrian

Planning to order the chip from nistune directly (anybody here installed themselves...? Does the type 4 board require soldering?) and take it to a workshop to get dynotuned.. Can anybody recommend a Sydney workshop to dynotune a Nistune?? Cheers, Adrian

Really? I've got quoted 1100 and 1500 fitted and tuned from 2 different shops.... If it really is only 500 for the board I'm sure i can get it tuned for a lot less than 600 - 1000!

Not too sure why it stops at 6000... good question...?? The dips at the top of the rev range Im told was due to the transmission... maybe that's why he didn't go further...anyhow from what I've heard nistune is the way to go so up till I get one i think ill be sticking to lowish boost! cheers.

Thanks for the feedback guys, from what I have read most people don't do it in 4th gear but when I asked the guys they mentioned that 3rd wasn't long enough...I know the figures sound low but I guess each dyno / operator will give a different result... Bob I plan on getting a nistune (i got quoted 1100 installed and tuned from envy) - just waiting for the funds!!! I don't have a graph showing the AFR's but I was advised it wasn't worth getting a SAFC as it wasnt leaning out...I plan on calling the workshop back as when im running highboost and nail the throttle (ie: kickdown) I get a loud pop at around 5000rpm ... which i think means its running rich?? I dunno im no mechanic but it sounds bad and scared the crap out of the mrs attached is the dyno output - apologies for the crap photo (i dont have a scanner at home)....

Hi All, Just got my 1999 RSFour Auto dynoed and it put out 100awkw... Its pretty stock with the exception of a 3" turbo back exhaust, Hiflow panel filter, Profec B set at 13psi.... Does this seem a little low?? I got it done at tunehouse (ill post up the dyno printout when i can) and supposedly it was done in 4th gear...?? What do you guys think, Is this a reasonable result with the mods done?? cheers, adrian

Im starting to think I should of just forked out for an off the shelf jap exhaust... Unfortunately its too late for me to turn back now!! Large body muffler? WHich part are you referring to? the mid muffler? Any brand / size you can recommend?

picked up 3" mild steel exhaust cat back from an R32 member and fitted it up - drove around for a day before deciding it was too loud and the drone was killing me... Went to hitech mufflers and after being ripped a new one by lambros I now have a 3" stainless steel dual tip exhaust which sounds much nicer.... still need to replace the mid muffler as its still a bit loud for me... Anybody else find their aftermarket exhaust is droney around the 2k range??

Read an interesting article in the latest Performance Imports mag about importing stageas into australia... Maybe have a read of it because they talk of a blue stag that had 150xxx kms in japan but ended up selling her with only 60xxx.... hope its not this one for your sake...

Hi All, Im selling a set of 16" stock rims (7" rim not sure of offset) with tyres - has come off my 1999 S2 Stagea. Rims are in very good condition with no major gutter rash (some small scratches as to be expected)... tyres are chinese 225/50/16 with only about 30% left and camber wear on 2 of them.
