How To Tell An Rb20de From Rb20det
jimbob2009 replied to jimbob2009's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yea that exactly what i mean, seems there are alot of people these days converting thier de's to +t's and i dont wanna be one to buy a non turbo motor for the price of a turbo motor ya know. heres a pic of the motor for reference if any one can spot anything. BTW take no note of the loom as it has been modified to suit a cefiro any help would be much appreciated -
Am currently been looking for an rb20det to slap into my gtst as the old on blew. Have found one local but the guy selling it told me he has many rb20's including a couple de's that he converted to turbos which kinda got me worried. am going to chek the motor out later was wondering if there are any diffrences with regard to codes on the head and block.I was told the turbo head had a 73L on it ????? can anyone confirm this or give me any other details beside this would be sweeeet Cheers

Would you have any idea where i can find this photo?? Ive modified the rear end to suit the tailights and have fitted them into the back with the rear bar as well just need to find a way to get the boot to fit. btw i have a four door boot lid and a coupe so either option is avail. I rekon i could cut the coupe bootlid down to size but dont know if the curve of the that goes down the rear of the car is the same as the four door boot.So dunno whether it will line up with tailights. Just wondering...why u want four door tailights on the coupe??

Are R32 Gt-r/gtst Tie Rod Ends The Same?
jimbob2009 replied to hossboss's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Im pretty sure that gtr ones would be the same as the r32 gts4 versions which i think are different to the gtst ones. Could be wrong though -
I had this problem once before, tried using easy out's to remove the snapped bolts got all except one frikken bolt.Which led to me having to take the whole head off and taking it into a mechanic. I then had to buy a new head gasket and a set of head bolts all for one stubborn bolt!!!

Recently parked the old girl in the shed with intentions of bringing her back to life(1989 gtst r32). The car has been sitting in the yard at my brothers with no bonnet so the bores have gathered abit of surface rust. I have since pulled the motor from the car and am wondering where to start and also if the block will be ok to use.I know ill need a new oil pump as i cracked it trying to remove the crank gear. Just want to know what a standard rebuild includes Like bearings Rings If the block will need to be honed/acid dipped ETC ETC Any help will be result in a feeling of inner happyness .......(results may vary)

So i removed the engine from my gtst and with an empty bay, realised how discustingly ugly it was and wondered what i could do to make it look pritty(within reason) A mate of mine suggested welding up all the unsightly holes griding them flat and filling it in with body filler. A month down the track after all the hard work was complete i spoke to the guy at the local paint supplies who informed me that the body filler i was using is far too rigid to be used in an engine bay So what im wondering is if there is a product that i can use over top of the filler ive allready used as ive spent somewhere around 40 straight hours over the last month sanding and filling and sanding and filling etc etc any help will grant you special access to the vip area in the afterlife ..........
