I ran a red light once, i was coming up to a left hand turn into a 3 lane road, (so I had a lot of room to do it quickly), and just snuck through after the amber went to red. It was totally safe, and I scanned and shoulder checked. I got my letter in the mail.. 3 points and $xxx .. I copped it and paid the fine, but if i had done the equivelant in the USA it would have been legal.

It would be a cool way for you to promote your business as well. lets hear it I personally reckon the rest of the list can be changed, but just make sure you get the alpine head deck, I havent come across better in any car..

This thing isnt just a crummy dvd player.. its more of a multimedia touchscreen. You might not appreciate the coolness and functionality of having a touch screen but i really dont see the point of having a head deck thats just a screen with a bunch of crappy buttons around it? I havent personally burnt mp3's to a dvd-r yet, but i'd be pretty suprised if it didnt read off it.. please dont buy from JB HIFI.. they are only interested in moving boxes.. the guys at jb hifi are sales people not car audio experts. Go to a real Car Audio place that sell brands like Alpine, Eclipse, Rockford Fosgate etc. You'll know your at the right place if they simply do not sell SONY car audio equipment. Alpine provide a premium product and have realised that the quality of their product relies heavily on the quality of the installation. Probably because Alpine only do car audio! thats their speciality.. they dont also make stereo hifi etc like pioneer does. Thats why a lot of the more mainstream box-moving companies like JB are not a licensed alpine dealer.. plus they would rather the huge markup they can put on cheaper equipment like pioneer, kenwood, sony etc. Disclaimer: Pioneer are actually up there, and their decks are way up there in bang for your buck.. and their hardware looks cool, but they are not very picky when it comes to who sells their products If I was going to be spending the money you are looking at blowing, i'd rather it was on the right gear and installed by the right people, trust me we've all been woo'd by the "massive blowout specials" that the bigger chains have, but its all just utter crap, the installations are crap and you just end up having a sore ass at the end of it. So call around tommorow and find someone who has an IVA-D300 on display you can check out.

Well thats definately a matter of personal opinion. To be honest i think 90% of s13's I see and 90% of r33's I see are just flat out ugly because they have been riced badly and on the cheap..

My old man always used to say in re: to driving up your street "Dont shit in your own nest, mate." Always put on the fake smile for the neighbours and be firm, polite, and slow down before you get to your street. If there are kids or dogs or people walking make an effort to drive super slowly and in cruise mode. They already think your some young hoon because your car is loud, so see how much fun it is to prove them wrong and that your really actually a nice guy. Maybe even give them some acknowledgement. Everyone will love the guy with that japanese import! I try to be very respectful to everyone and realise that i've already lost a few points because i have a spooling turbo and a loud exhaust note, but its fun to change attitudes. I always drive really slowly down the first few streets in the morning while the engine is getting a chance to warm up, and I am always driving slowly in the last few streets before I get back to let the turbos spool down and for the engine to cool down. Maybe apologise to the cop for being rude next time and tell him that you hate being discriminated against because you have a sports car. And even though you where not breaking the speed limit or the law, you realise that with it being a small street you will try and be safer in future. I guarantee the guy will never give you any more problems. But if your into war and some people cant live without conflict, maybe egg his house..?

Oh and of course being a touchscreen you can feed a seperate nav component into it.. rumour has it navman are building a 'video out only' unit for under 1000 bucks that i am holding out for to plug into this sucker. You could also go for a VDO unit but its crap compared to navman and about 3x dearer.

It plays: .WMA .MP3 .MPEG and CD-RW and DVD-RW so in short, yep! It also supports dolby digital surround sound, and has timing correction which will make whatever you decide to put through it sound absolutely outstanding. I firmly believe its the best all-in-one HU on the market.. and after asking any car audio place that stocks alpine they all agree. I am constantly drooling over mine.. They RRP for 3999 but you can bring them down to about 3.5k or lower, if your good. I amazingly found one for sale second hand and picked it up for 1850 with heaps of warranty left on it. Go try one out and report back with what you think..!

Liquid: Your crazy if you buy that Kenwood unit.. fork out a bit of extra cash and buy an Alpine IVA D300e.. it plays mp3s, dvd, is a touchscreen with PulseTouch which means you can feel the buttons being pressed on the screen and it will also destroy kenwood for sound quality. Dont let any JB HIFI sales person (who dont stock alpine) tell you otherwise

Sure, it is a lot like comparing apples to oranges but they are still both fruit. The reason we're having this talk is because of the following diatribe thats been known to come out of v8 owners mouths: "my car is more powerful, its a v8" "get a REAL car" "my engine sounds better" "Got rice?" "This v8 makes me feel comfortable about my tiny penis" Well maybe all except the last line.. but once they start rattling off crap about cubes thats all i'm hearing. Why is it that v8 owners feel they have to justify their purchasing decision by paying out on those of us who have decided we prefer something a bit more sophisticated? I find its usually backward yokel bogans who are the ones provoking us nissan boys. Thats all it really comes down to, let them have their v8s. Hell if I ever have to tow a boat or a jet ski I might own a v8. But lets face it, the Skyline will always be the better car when it comes to accelerating, braking and going around corners. Just tell the guy in the Monaro that he should really be comparing his car to the likes of a 34 GTR, based on the cost of the cars. A 34 GTR is a much fairer comparison price wise, and I probably dont need to tell you that the 34 GTR would be saying to Monaro "Game Over :)"

I have an Alpine IVA-D300e, its a touch screen that touches you back, and the only product on the high end of the market that has that feature. Its the first touch screen i've ever heard of that you can feel the button pressing in on the lcd panel. Its amazing and its in my car! I have been told that Alpine are like the Mercedes of head decks. I am confused why you would compare a relatively cheap-but-good-value brand like Pioneer with the likes of Alpine..? I have heard from a few people that Alpine have a 1 kilometer indoor testing track in their facility that simulates all road conditions so when doing R&D they can make sure the unit doesnt vibrate etc. (Like i've heard some pioneers and sony head decks do in other peoples cars) I remember talking to a sales agent who said that Alpine are the only car audio company that has a room that can simulate 10,000 hours of sunlight. The other thing to remember is that Alpine specialise in car Audio and do nothing but car audio. Companies like Pioneer, Sony etc, car audio represents less than 5% of their income. Just a thought..

Theres a Y2k bug in the 33 gtr that actually takes effect on the last japanese emporers sons birthday. Boosting over 6,000rpm causes the entire car to let out an enormous high pitched noise that only dogs can hear. :wassup:
