Lucien, I think that if you put 8 days worth of work into turning this manual into text, I strongly believe you should somehow charge for it in some capacity. I would feel right paying for that.

e-4wd .. Does this make the GTR a Petrol/Electric Hybrid? Lithium Batteries, Electric Motors.. I am very excited about this. If the new GTR is a successful hybrid performance car that eats porsches for breakfast, it will be earth shattering. Will the next GTR be the first hybrid performance car available for the masses? will it be allowed to compete in the JGTC if it is indeed classed as a hybrid?

Interesting thread really. I would rather Nissan Australia DID NOT bring in the new GTR. Why? Because I would rather take advantage of Japans rapidly depreciating used car market and import one thats a few years old, and save myself $100-odd grand, thanks.

Chapman & Chapman in Brisbane and Gavin Wood at the Gold Coast are the only people I would trust with any high performance import if you want the work done to the highest possible standard. Just expect to pay about double or triple what your local commonwhore mechanic up the street would charge. And expect about 10x better quality work.

Dont you love it when you pull up to a single lane intersection, your sitting there waiting to make your move, and this massive bloody 4wd screams up next to you, obtrusively blocking your view, and you literally cannot do anything until the 4wd driver goes first. Its particularly annoying when your making a left hand turn because you have to stick your nose out (dangerously), or wait for the big 4wd to cross the intersection. It's got some crazy mum behind the wheel thats still dialed up on caffeine from her coffee club appointment with the girls. This is why I now make sure my car is positioned in the middle of the lane or as close to the opposite side of where I'm indicating. Though there is still the rare ocassion that the 4wd owners from coming up next to you, usually oblivious of where your indicating. I think 4wd's are a major problem on our roads, and unless the owner has a commercial purpose (eg a cattle farmer), owners should pay triple the standard rego, and the extra money will go back into the environment and roads. The same reason I think how speeding fines should go back into fixing up the condition and surfacing of the roads, not into buying more speed cameras and donuts.

Of course.. Anyone who knows their skylines can tell in two seconds its a GTR. Its the rest of the clueless general public that have no idea.. (which is basically everyone you see on the road who isnt in a skyline) I'm just bitching about kids putting GTR kits on their cars, and polluting the image real GTR owners like you and I have. Theres nothing worse than pulling in somewhere in your GTR and some rotten kid coming up to you going "awww fully sick skyline man, how much did the body kit cost you? is that a real GTR?" You just have to drive down cavell at the gold coast for five minutes to see why the line between gts-ts with kits and real gtr's is becoming blurred in the general publics eye. Though it would be cool to see how much less or more attention you get by not having the GTR badge from the v8 bogans. That said, those massive Volk Te37's look pretty intimidating /rant over.

NXTIME: Thanks bro. I feel for you too, man. It's been about 6 months.. I paid for my car in late november and it was elligble for immediate import I cant imagine what waiting 2 years would be like. Some days I think "Its not worth it" but I know when she gets here and after i've had the major expensive service done and she is running correctly.. I'll be in heaven. Though truth be told, I've probably been shopping for an r32 gtr for a bit over two years. So its pretty easy for me to feel your pain! KEEP THEM PICS COMING PEOPLE!!

This is a post-whore thread about "The State of Importing Cars From Japan ATM", for bored people like myself who are itching for their car to arrive.
