  1. Car looks like a million bucks! *thumbs up* I love the work and attention to detail, and I hope that after I pour money and time into mine that it will be as clean and tidy. I see you've decided to make it look like a gst-t with a gtr body kit. Because as we all know, 98% of GTR's without the badge are actually hyped up 16 year old kids in their body kitted gts-t's. Keep up the good work.
  2. hahahahahaha Kor, you knew all along there was an undercover car behind you
  3. Hmm thats a bit biased. I saw an *unbelievably* tidy r32 GTR on j-spec's mailing list last week that put all other r32's i've seen to shame. It was only $16.5k and I think it was the best buy i've seen in about 6 months. So take everything you read on forums with a grain of salt unless its the persons first hand experience, and all questions you have should be directed to your import agent.
  4. Cheers for the GTR identity theft; Gts-t owners are doing a great job at making every GTR on the road look like their car. Beautiful paint job though
  5. Who else here has a car booked in on the Kiwi vessle Hual Tracer, arriving in Brisbane on the 13th?
  6. Its kind of like the people who own a Nissan Bluebird SSS ATTESA.. "Oh its got ATTESA, like the GTR".. in actual fact it is completely different. Its kind of like the guys who drive Pulsar GTiRS, saying "Its a GTR Hatchback!" Its kind of like the guys who drive R33 GTS-t's with GTR body kits.. I say call a spoon a spoon.
  7. Wow what a great outcome! I love hearing punks like this getting caught and justice being done. You should have sat in at the court appearance so you could find out what they looked like and who they where, etc. I'm sure if you posted their details in this thread our friendly SAU Vigilantes would have a field day.
  8. It was put in there by the previous Japanese owner to mess with you.
  9. Hey, has your number plate been sprayed with that ghostplate stuff? Or did you blur out your number plate in photoshop?
  10. mmmgtir: The gist is that one of my cars details/information did not match up to the information the shipping company and customs was provided with. There was a typo on one of the numbers. Each time kiwi tried to put the car on a boat, Jap customs said "no, this doesnt match up" when it missed the first couple of boats we just assumed that the car was just not making it due to their not being room. It would have been really nice if we'd confirmed why the second time it happened, not the third. My car was also supplied through Mark S. I have spoken to Mark over the phone since the problem was discovered, he's been very helpful and paid for all the expenses in correcting the mistake. It was nice to hear an Aussie accent talking about my car. He immediately knew about my car and the workshop who inspected the car said that other than wear on the steering wheel and drivers seat, the car is in good condition. I have also had a refund from Prestige due to the excessive delay, so I cant really ask much more than that. Given the fact that there are very few 15 year-eligable r32 GTRs available fitting the type of car I was looking for, I was prepared to take the risk. The car should be here in a few weeks. As long as theres nothing wrong with the chassis, engine or gearbox, and it looks like it does in the photos i'll be happy and have the car i've always wanted. I will definately let everyone know what the car is like when it arrives in 4 weeks.
  11. hmmm.. so in conclusion i'll get the compliancer to change the oil (or i'll do it when I pick it up) and drive to gavin to get the rest done
  12. mmmgtir: Hmm, what WHITER32 said.. I would have actually thought that by letting the car idle for a few minutes, and then being very gentle with her the whole way, get some heat through the old oil before dropping it out the bottom. Is there a definite risk I can blow up my engine simply by having old, broken down oil in the car? I probably wouldnt be taking it over 4,000rpm until the new oil was in it.
  13. Guys, If they want to enter Australian muscle cars into drift, Fine! .. But they have to let us put the GTR back into bathurst! Also, good on the Aussie bloke for "giving it a go" eh? Your probably giving him the attention he's seeking Jeff Boulous: Welcome to Skylines Australia.. good to see your input.
  14. EliteForce: What is the name of the business? I was recommended turbotorque by a friend of mine a couple of years ago.. Who took them over? You can PM if you like.. if I intend on using them, I will go through you.
  15. http://www.dynamco.com.au/cgi-bin/product_....cgi?model=P385 This alarm can be purchased on eBay for $195 (retails at $299) Can anyone tell me whats wrong with it? Because it seems like a pretty good deal, and the remote doesnt look bad either.
  16. In 2001 I was introduced to full throttle on a 750hp midnight purple r33 GTR, which the owner paid a cool $130,000 for.. It was a nutcase, and also the first r33 skyline i'd ever seen, i knew nothing about skylines and had no idea Nissan could make something so bonkers! That was then..
  17. As it turns out my car was caught up in customs.. which is why its been sitting there since December. I'm told its cleared and good to go now, so it should be here in 4 weeks
  18. Hey Guys, When the GTR gets here, i'll be giving it a full service and dyno tune.. but I was just thinking, where is the best place in QLD to get this done? Being awd, do I have to go to some special awd dyno, or will any do? Who would you recommend and how much? I'm in Brisbane, but I am happy to drive to the Coast for quality..
  19. Is that the same car that was featured in Wheels magazine vs the Holden GTS back in 2001/2002? I remember the car was white with a carbon fibre bonnet and it was said that it was imported to race in tasmania.. or just co-incidence?
  20. Hey Guys, After reading a lot of the threads around here, a lot of poeple have put a lot of emphasis on getting the oil changed as soon as the car arrives before driving it. After owning several imports, I have driven cars that have come into the country and have not had the oil done, and havent had any problems. I know that most import car dealers dont change the oil in the cars once they arrive.. But how concerned should I be about the oil in the gtr, considering the car has been sitting dormant for 6 months? Assuming the car is running well, I was going to drive it from the compliance center in brisbane to gavin wood at the gold coast to get all the fluids and a service done before I get it registered. is there much risk, would anyone get it towed instead?
  21. popeye: was this before or after your landed at the australian docks
