  1. I liked the habib story, that was funny I've actually noticed that lots of people instantly become an experienced mechanic as soon as you start talking about imports in general actually. And 9 times out of 10 they dont know sh*t. Good old Aussies..
  2. I was unfortunately involved in a conversation at a party last night where some idiot who apparantly knew everything about cars started to voice his opinion. I'll save you the dialogue but some of the vomit that left his mouth included: "300zxs look like taragos" "The r35 GTR. Now THATS a car" "Oh you have a r32 GTR? Pfft they are old buckets of crap now.. been there done that." "He should buy a Magna" He wouldnt tell me what car he drove but my g/f said before I got there he let it slip that he was a corolla driver. Needless to say I didnt feel that it was worth my energy to step into an argument with someone who is clearly gifted. Whats some stupid things you've heard people say about skylines/imports?
  3. Guys give the dude a break. He probably had to do some emergency banking and get some stuff done at the shopping center.. he was probably 'on the way' to getting his car set up with security Dont pay him out for his actions nobody wants to get their car stolen. We need to set up a van with 3 SAU members with baseball bats inside. We'll get some GTR owners to pack their cars near the van on this level late one night and we'll wait for thieves..
  4. bootlegapparel: I am very sorry to hear about your loss.. no insurance, like me?
  5. I think people keep underestimating and overlooking GPS.. If a car gets stolen with your keys in it you can still track the car down and recover it with GPS. Although i'm sure the GPS technology can be blocked, I doubt that even 1 out of every 5,000 car thieves is that smart. Has anyone NOT had their car recovered and had a GPS alarm system installed, thats what I'd like to know as well
  6. An easier way would be to go through the image gallery a page at a time and look for yellow R34s with different rims. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/photopost/index.php Gives you a better idea thna a photochop. Plus its a pretty crappy angle you have of your car for someone to bother superimposing some wheels over it. Some of direct side-on photos would be ideal and make it much easier
  7. midnight: It got scheduled today. 19th of Jan.. They updated the schedule at about 10pm this evening. I'm on it
  8. cowie165: So I guess i'll put a sticker on the car that says "Please turn off mobile phones"
  9. I can recommend a good one but you'd need to promise us you'd stay a member of this forum and keep us updated with its progress
  10. Roy: Fair enough.. Who can not love RWD goodness? Thats why I bought the R32 GTR with the understanding that the ATTESA fuse could be removed, right? Unfortunately its a lot harder to set up on the R33/R34 I am told.
  11. Hold on a second let me get this straight.. Your saying that by putting on a GTR body kit, its not about making it look like a GTR? I'm confused. That makes no sense. Then you address me as a 13 year old dick cheese? Your all class mate., Can someone please explain why these posers are dressing up their cars as GTRs and then calling people a dick cheese? Where did they come from? Please?
  12. Hey Guys, As the topic says, I'm thinking of getting some Godzilla stickers made up for the GTR.. Something that looks very professional that says Godzilla with possibly a pic of Godzillas head next to it. Where? How Much? If I get some made does anyone else want one?
  13. The verdict: stock gts-t with GTR front bar.. nice looking gts-t stock gts-t with full GTR body kit.. couldnt afford a GTR? ricers with fake GTR badging.. :headshot: heavily modified gts-t with full GTR body kit that runs 12s.. You are worthy :boinkcar:
  14. start by calling up every panel shop in the white pages, tell them you want a high quality respray for a good price and ask them how "booked out" they are. None of them will want to give you a figure over the phone without knowing what kind of car it is, if theres any damage already etc. Tell them your just shopping around and you'd like a "ball park" figure that you can work with. Answer any questions they have and ask for their best "cash price". Narrow it down to the 5 cheapest then go around and personally talk to them about what they would do, ask them if it will look 'as good as new' and if the paint job will last so you can get ideas and statements about quality. Ask them questions like: - Who will be doing most of the work and how experienced are they? (are they going to put the 19 year old apprentice onto it?) - What type of paint will they be using and how long you can expect it to last before it starts fading Dont be afraid to ask simple, seemingly stupid questions and be thorough. At the same time though, when it comes to cost I would not expect to find many places that would do a full respray for under 3 grand. And if you do it will most likely be a one or two man operation with very very low overheads. But if you can find a workshop thats desperate for work as they have no customers booked in you might get lucky and they will spend two weeks on your car because they've got nothing else coming in for almost cost to pay the rent and keep the doors open. I find if you pop in every 2 days to 'see how its going' the quality of work will be higher as well. Being a tight arse is okay, just put in work making sure you get quality as well. Hope this helps.
  15. Yeah your right! Damn. Just called Kiwi, looks like the next vessle leaving Kawasaki is the Hual Trekker on the 19th of January. Got my fingers crossed
  16. Anyone know if the Kiwi ship leaving Kawasaki today has their car on it? I'm keeping my fingers crossed
  17. Take it to a really good mechanic who you trust and ask his opinion I'd say the car needs to be inspected in person.
  18. I had some idiot wasting my time with my Pulsar GTIR that I recently sold. He took it for the test drive, ummed and aah'd.. said he'd call back.. and didnt. So I call the guy up and he goes 'man i only want to pay 14k for it' (the car was the cheapest gtir on the market for sale at 16.5) I yelled at him and asked him why he bothered wasting my time and did not tell me that this was "all he could afford" before he strapped my car around the block. Bloody idiots.
