Go the corolla with its sporty VTI engine! Pity its fwd. Why is it that its completely acceptable for these fwd na 4cyl ricers to race everything they see, yet anyone with a turbo who likes the odd squirt is told to calm the f**k down? Does anyone else understand this?

So with that said, if anyone i sinterested in buying a truly unique R33 they should buy Johns. It has a 4.5 litre v8 infiniti engine that sounds unbelievable, like you are mark skaife at bathurst. A truly awesome beast that has to be seen to be believed. Considering what it is, its a bargain. Just a pity he didnt want to trade for my little red GTIR I guess

NA_R33: I'll never live down driving your v8 R33 into your driveway and splitting the fibreglass front bodykit on what I thought was enough clearance... ouch I hope the $$ covered the repair and its all sweet now. *never had a bodykit before* :Oops: Lets face it though, the v8 has look at me written all over it I sold the Pulsar GTIR.. the guy picks it up on Monday. Have you sorted out the problems with your GTR and that shonky car dealer?

GTRs are cheap for what they are.. its keeping them that costs the money

Hey Emil, My advise is get a GTR if you can afford one. Budget yourself about 28k for the car.. and make sure you constantly have about 8k sitting in a bank tied up in a savings account in case it breaks down (and it will) eg. if you need an engine rebuild. Dont think your going to get away without having problems, and on a car like this the costs are enormous. Remember that pretty much every single part that you replace on a GTR is going to cost up to 3x as much as your silvia. My advise would be keep the silvia, thrash the crap out of it until it dies and you have a considerably decent amount of money invested.. THEN get the GTR

Red Sky, This exact same thing happened to me in my R31. The sudden change of coolant has caused your system to break down more rapidly than with the water or low quality coolant you had in there. Get the CO2 Sensor checked, and if its corroded/dirty get it cleaned. Get your water pump checked too. Should fix the problem.

Maybe he was a better driver? Ie faster gearchanges etc.. Dont underestimate the blacktop Sr20det When was the last time you had your car tuned?

I think what you'll need to do is go and talk to the parents and get a bit heavy about it. Take a quote along with the damage bill. Generally the kinds of kids who would do that are already getting in trouble at school etc.

My passion for the GTR started when a close friend of mine bought a midnight purple R33 GTR back in 2000 when they cost about $90k. He then poured about $30k into performance mods and we had a lot of fun in that car. Nobody knew what the hell it was and everybody with a hotted up 4 or v8 got taught a thing or two. Then about a year later 100 r33 gts-t's per city block started to emerge and now in 2004 everybody has a GTR.. But I still love them.

It just comes down to how much they sell for and what people are prepared to pay for one. For example, my next door neighbour just bought a brand new shiney WRX (MY99) for the handsome sum or $25k. 5 years old. I will land my 89 GTR for about $23k all up. 15 years old. So I guess you could say the GTR is roughly three times better than a WRX based on their value alone. We all know that its a lot more than that

Hey Guys, I got the call at 6am this morning, one of my cousins was killed in a car accident last night at around 11.30pm. We dont have all the details yet but what I know is she was being driven home from a work christmas party and a drunk driver collided with them and killed her. The driver of the other car is in hospital with minor injuries. Her son, 16 years of age has not had a dad since he was born and his mum was his life. Now he has nobody. Please, everyone on SAU.. and everyone who reads this, dont drink and drive this holiday season. Its just much easier to catch a cab and not suffer the consequences of either dying, getting injured for the rest of your life.. or in this situation ruining lives of really nice people.
