  1. menco: Yeah there are many more r32 gtsts for sale than sr20dets.. the sr20s are a lot rarer. Looks like you made up your mind before you started this thread.. Why did you start the thread?
  2. I think Patrick has taken a very mature approach to this car and I believe that even if he does luck out he wont be too far out of pocket. All that is required is at the very most a few grand spent to repair the damage, then if he doesnt like the car he can sell it at a PROFIT and import another one until he gets it right. Whats the worst that can happen, the guy will probably luck out and have a spastic 500hp GTR that tears up the strip doing 11s? Damn would that be a pity. Lovin your work Patrick
  3. marchGTR: BAAARP. Wrong. I've found these quarter mile times to be very very consistant in many reviews and time slips for STOCK cars.. NISSAN Silvia/180sx S13 2L Turbo = 14.30 sec NISSAN Skyline R32 GTS-T = 14.63 sec NISSAN Skyline R33 GT-ST-25T = 14.4 sec We may be talking tenths of a second, and I am not just an armchair expert, I have extensively driven rb20dets and owned an sr20det silvia for quite a few years (no longer).. the silvia is much quicker. The r32 has better seats.. big deal. Better seats does not equal better "Build Quality" in fact a lot of the plastics in both cars are the same. The idea is, once you add the standard zorst, air pod, boost controller.. the silvia is a madman in comparison to those same mods done on the gtst.. I have had a few runs with gtst's in the past in my car and it was great fun leaving the skyline performance artillery *cough* in the dust In that same breath I take my hat off to the mighty GTR And as for handling, lower both cars and they will both handle great. The silvia is a power oversteerer, and must be driven accordingly.. Go look at some of the JDM videos.. i've seen heavily modified silvias kill modified GTRs (Read: Not Gts-ts) on tracks.
  4. I think the thread starter should drive an sr20det s13 before listening to the opinions of those in this thread. In my experience. people who vouch for the gtst over the sr20det have never driven an sr20det. Or either for that matter YES the silvia will always be the underdog car, but will always outperform the gtst in stock form and mod for mod when it comes time to duke it out. menco can decide which one has the nicer exterior/interior just by looking at a few photos on the internet. But its the driving experience that can't be translated into words onto a forum.. you really have to experience both cars in modified + unmodified form, like I have, and work it out for yourself. And for the record, a debadged, dewinged lowered silvia looks pimp. especially on 18s.
  5. I think the reason holden are toying with the idea is because ford released the XR6T and said "CHECK MATE!" Hardon are simply trying to gauge enthusiasm for the car..
  6. Buy the r32 gtst, the sr20det silvia is way quicker and handles far better than the skyline in stock form, and if you want to be a poser definately buy the r32-it is slower but looks better and the turbo is way noisier
  7. geno8r: The fact is if you want to buy an R32 GTR in Australia you'll usually pay about ~$10k extra for that luxury. Damn thats almost enough of a saving to drop a brand new R34 GTR N1 RB26DETT into the car.. This is why people are importing.
  8. i would assume the previous owner got rid of it due to the accident.. and couldnt afford to get it repaired. NOT due to mechanical problems.. thats usually the best time to buy
  9. I dont own a GTT, but have my free opinion. a) they drive better B) they look better c) they are newer d) theres about 100x less of them on the roads
  10. Just chrome your bonnet if thats what you want to do.. who cares what other people think. ps. The chrome r34 looks shit hot!
  11. Okay John see you tommorow..! Anyone else interested in doing a trade and meeting up in brisbane?
  12. An s15 with a few grand spent on it is weapon enough for a quick streeter
  13. Hey Guys, I'm selling my GTIR in the hopes of getting an r32 of similar value.. I would post this in the classifieds section however it doesnt look like it has an option for 'wanting to trade'? I am based in Brisbane, QLD and if anyone wants to drive over so we can take a look at each others cars go for it. The current asking price for my GTIR is $16,900.. it has very low km's and is a damn rocket ship. PM me for more details.
  14. Hey Guys, I read on prestige that SEVS compliance was within grasp for r32s. Does anyone have any further knowledge about this?
  15. I havent driven an rx7, only the gtrs. I have only ever been in the passenger side of an rx7. Go teh gtr.
  16. chicks dig rx7s more. men dig gtrs more. I dont care about using my car to impress the ladies, so thats why i'd choose the gtr. Plus its a nissan.
  17. If your keeping the GTR stock it is unbreakable, and the RB26DETT is far, far better than the neo engine. Get the GTR.
  18. The s15 is already cool enough as is. But with a GTR engine? Oh my GOD! Just make sure you spend some money getting it rebuilt/new turbos etc while its already out of the car.. no sense putting it in and driving 10 meters down the road and boom... If you do it, send us pics. lots of pics.
  19. I thought having bigger doors would make it easier to get in/out of the car?
  20. If that cars done 10,000kms i'll eat razor blades. I've seen that guy driving that car eeeveerrywheerre, he lives on the same side of town as me. Nice guy. Its probably just got aftermarket cluster..
  21. croat: how much did those gtr seats cost you?
  22. Teamshadow: Mate get your dad to buy you the new Mx-5. - Rear Wheel Drive - Turbo - Convertible - Insanely fun even at slow speeds - 50/50 weight distribution - The ladies will dig you And its a very respectable, sensible sports car. Either that or the new mini. (for the same reasons above).. Just cars that will teach you how to drive, be as fun as having a ferret in your undies, but at the same time not be over powerful. Once you've driven that for a few years, learnt how to drive.. upgrade to a turbo r34 skyline
