  1. benm: Thanks! Yeah I agree: its a great car just begging for mods. The part that blows me away after owning one of these is how many people try and race you at the lights.. I guess the general public think your some boy racer with a body kit on his locally delivered pulsar. The facial expression on v8 drivers faces after you shoot past them is priceless. They expect you to beat them in a Skyline now
  2. How much did they rob you for that work? Print out this thread and take it down there and show them what a bunch of other car enthusiasts think of the work. Tell them that if they dont repair it immediately and make the entire car look like it came out of the factory you will release the name of their company onto this forum of tens of thousands of car enthusiasts; they can use their imagination on the consequences this will have on their business.
  3. No, SEVS and the 15 year rule are two totally different things. SEVS means that it costs more to compliance due to more safety requirements, and the car has not had any major accident history. This is good news for buyers.
  4. 1990 Nissan Pulsar GTIR - Limited Edition Factory Red - 73,000kms - Immaculate Interior - Imported under SEVS (been in the country 5 months) Aftermarket bits: - Xenon headlights - Momo Wheel + A/M Gearshift - Enkei 'Racing' Mags - Jasma exhaust (quiet, low emissions) $17900 Other than the aftermarket items mentioned, the car is completely stock standard with stock airbox and even unopened drivers-side umbrella. The car runs like new and the clutch, gearbox and throttle response is very tight. A very enjoyable drive! I've had this car as a weekender and put 5000kms on it since it has been in the country, and firmly believe from the condition of the vehicle that the km's are actually genuine. The only fault I can give this car after owning it this time is that there is a few minor blemishes on the paintwork which could probably be buffed out or given some minor touchup work by a decent paintshop. I'm selling this one and my lovely silvia, and upgrading to a GTR soon. This car will suit a buyer who is trying to find a relatively unmodified gtir that has not been flogged to death. Thats the reason I bought this car. I hope whoever buys it spends some money on lowering it and putting some nice big wheels on it. Will only sell to a good home.
  5. Pics Viewable Here I thought you guys would also enjoy the pics Yeah, basically just a stock standard GTIR steering wheel, we had to buy it for compliance and now its looking for a new home.. $100 ono
  6. Its an easy solution, you just need to find out the email address of australias new 'cyber crime' division, let them know specifically what happened, scan in your bank receipt and they will chase this guy down for you: I know because i've seen it happen before. It doesnt matter that you are in the USA. they will prosecute the motherf*cker.
  7. I actually like the sound of Acura and Infinity compared to Honda & Nissan (australia) .. honda and nissan .au are plain and simply a bunch of pussies who dont have the balls to bring in decent vehicles, like the skyline, real integra type r's and so forth. I'm amazed nissan brought out the 200sx in turbo form judging by their track record. If going under the Acura or Infiniti umbrella means we get decent performance vehicles into our country so be it.
  8. K on s13's doesnt mean coupe or hatchback. Without being TOO specific, the Q and K's s13s usually relate to the performance package. Silvia Q's = sr20de engine, not as decent brakes & suspension Silvia K's = sr20det (turbo) engine, decent brakes & suspension plus an extra scoop on the front bar for the intercooler, etc Though i've been told my K's has J's headlights (the square ones) which are the desired lights. I dare say its different for lines
  9. Just curious if the paint will scratch off easily..
  10. Err you dont pay to get work like that done, you do it yourself; you'd probably do a better job
  11. Roy: Exactly, My finance was for 15k of the 65, the difference I was paying for. (The reason I Cant get a lousey 15k loan is because i'm between jobs.. my new job starts this week).
  12. No I didnt get an RACQ report on the car, I took it to one of the most reputable workshops in brisbane for imports and gtrs. The car has definately had a respray from white; its not nismo blue. And yes it was complianced through skyline imports.. my mechanic knew the guy who imported in about 4 of them and sprayed them all in this sky blue colour. The vspec your talking about could be a different car..
  13. I find it helps if you tell them straight up you are one picky motherf***er who is sick of getting screwed around and the work 'will look perfect, right?' and 'what will you do if the job is not perfect?' Once you've made clear you are anally retentive, tell them your only behaving like this because of -insert random story of guys in similar industry screwing you around- or -because your mate got screwed- etc. I find the job is usually done properly then.
  14. Yeah I got it checked out, it was fine. - it had some previous panel damage on the left side of the car that had been repaired professionally and was unnoticeable without looking under the car. The only thing wrong with the car was it was resprayed in a non original colour.
  15. My finance fell through.. I am 10k short The car was $63.5k btw.
  16. My Silvia has been an absolutely fantastic, very very fast car. If anyone in QLD wants to buy it, its a 1991 Silvia K's (sr20det of course) .. only a few minor modifications.. its the best condition s13 i've ever seen, but i'm biased. I'm ugprading to a GTR soon, and would take $13500 for it. And yes, i have smoked many r33's with this car.
  17. Do Brant offer alarms that can signal when someone tries to debadge your car?
  18. I dont own Nissans because I want a car that looks like euro-trash. Infact its quite the opposite, I like the practical designs of the Skylines and Silvias. Even yuppies I know who wouldnt buy anything without a bmw or merc badge like the look of the 350z. These are people who would previously scoff at the R34 GTR and say "I would never pay $150k for a datsun" .. what does this say about where mr Ghosn wants to take this motor company?
  19. You'll get a great 1994 SR20det s13 for 15k, yes.
  20. Oh, and dont buy the one in the pic t0ny posted.
  21. r33goesoff: are you sure you've raced your mate in the 180? either his car is stock and yours is heavily modified, or theres something seriously wrong with the way he's driving or his car. I would go a 1994 model 180 or 2litre turbo silvia (same thing, whichever one you like the look of the best).. drive it around, take it to skid pan days, spend very little on it to make it go fast.. The reason being, the s13 is a lot easier to break the traction barrier and will teach you far more about driving a performance rear-ender than a skyline will. Its also 10x more fun to drive. They FEEL faster and the acceleration is more punchier as its a smaller, lighter car. Around corners? probably the s13. If you HAVE to have a skyline, get an r32. The r33 gtst is a hero car Don't buy one of these unless you like to wear your underpants on the outside. Spend 15k now on something fast and small, then in a few years from now you can upgrade to an r34 or an older gtr.
