  1. Just curious junkie, how come you had to sell your r32?
  2. Yeah its shit like this that makes me feel better about going an r32 gtr.. more understated. I feel sorry for all you guys. Man if I caught somebody doing that to my car, It would almost be worth it-because of what I would do to him.
  3. Ahh, actually the conversation with my girlfriend who doesnt claim to know a lot about cars
  4. Does this mean I cant use my signature anymore?
  5. Hey Guys, Thought you'd get a laugh out of this. I'm buying my GTR soon and my gilrfriend was talking to some idiot she knows from Sydney.. The worst part is this guy isnt actually 12. He is 20 and is convinced he knows what he's talking about. Enjoy. HoMeS: talking about gtr's for eg. HoMeS: looking at $50k+ Sonya: nah Sonya: about 30k for a 32, prob not even that HoMeS: tsktsk HoMeS: a 32 isnt a gtr bud. Sonya: yes it is Sonya: what are you talking about HoMeS: NUP Sonya: of course it is Sonya: what is it then Sonya: (an r32 gtr, then theres 33 gtr and 34 gtr) HoMeS: a gtr is a godzilla, which is an R34 Sonya: hahaha Sonya: no Sonya: wrong HoMeS: r32 is a gts Sonya: stimpyy you eeediot Sonya: omg how can i know more about these than you Sonya: ask anyone =p HoMeS: lol Sonya: go look it up on websites Sonya: hehehe Sonya: r32 is not a gts Sonya: you can get r32, 33, and 34 in gts form, but we're talking about gtr's HoMeS: ;sadojfgns;dkljgnsldkjgn;sdgbnzd (N) Sonya: WHAT?? 6. Ahem, i've seen some very crap looking (el cheap) r32's driving around as well.
  7. Try also asking on the Silvia/180 forum, the replies here you will get are obviously going to be biased towards skylines. I'm GTR biased. Obviously your comparing the RB20DET to the SR20DET. What is it your looking for in the cars? r32 isnt as quick as the s13, even in stock form, but you will be able to squeeze your mates in the back of the r32 a lot easier. Plus the skyline is a lot more popular in the public eye. Thats why I love handing guys their ass in my s13. Try and find a '91-94 Silvia K's (thats the sr20det engine) with low km's in stock condition and take it for a test drive.
  8. Hey guys, Whats the best looking r32 GTR instrument cluster that is available? I want to see if theres anything on the aftermarket out there to replace that '89 look and feel. Saw this cluster for the r33 in another thread: http://hate-tank.net/Leap%20Year%20Cruise/28.html inspirational. Rezz, would appreciate your input.. (and a reply to my pm )
  9. gatty: true, in this instance you where probably a way better driver than the guy in the auto ca. hahaha sorry i'm joking.. Of course it has a lot to do with the driver, how the car is tuned etc. Some people also dont know much about their cars powerband, when the perfect time to change gears is, and others are just plain retarded. I'm sure the NA r33 wins the looks competition hands down, theres some damn bastard ugly looking silvias out there. Infact I know a guy who has an N/A r33 and has dressed it up as a GTR.. pulls the ladies for only 15 grand! bargain.
  10. nmcmahon83: thankyou for your input and incorporating facts and not hearsay
  11. Hey guys, Sorry to kill the mood in here but I own an s13 Silvia (the one with the sr20det engine). I'm assuming a N/A skyline is slower than a turbo skyline right? Because I have raced countless amounts of turbo skylines, r32s, r33s, r34s and have not yet been beaten by anyone i've met on the road. The only skyline that has beaten me is one I already knew: a good friends r33 gtst that has had about 15k spent on engine mods. I've had very very close races, neck to neck.. but nothing has pulled away from me yet. I REPEAT: No turbo skyline i've met on the road other than of course GTRs have beaten me from 0-180km/hr on the street. I am running stock boost. I have driven a N/A skyline, N/a silvia, ca18det silvia, turbo skylines.. borrringg. My car would not be considered heavily modified, but I do know that at a stock 164kw, 1200kgs and after a 3" exhaust, air filter.. your looking at close to 170-180kw.. What kind of drugs are nismoman18 smoking? A NA whale beating an sr20det running 1 bar? Was the guy behind the wheel of the 180sx unconscious? and rolling backwards? So my answer to the topic would be, yes you could probably beat any S13 except for an sr20det s13, which will smoke your sorry ass. Lets look at the quarter mile times on the stock vehicles: NISSAN Silvia S13 1.8L Non-turbo = 17.20 sec NISSAN Silvia/180sx S13 1.8L Turbo = 15.08 sec NISSAN Silvia S13 2L Non-turbo = 16.50 sec NISSAN Silvia/180sx S13 2L Turbo = 14.30 sec NISSAN Skyline R32 GTS-T = 14.63 sec NISSAN Skyline R33 GT-ST-25T = 14.39 sec I dont have times for the N/A skyline anywhere, but I imagine if the R33 GTST does a 14.39 we can all agree that the NA's are slower? ps. My next car is looking like its going to be an r32 GTR. I am not a skyline hater
  12. I've tried contacting the owners of SAU a few times about sponsoring the site, and have heard nothing back via email. Could someone please contact me as I am genuinely interested. Thanks,.
  13. Thanks for the info guys.
  14. Yeah theres no shortage of knobs, esp in r33's. Its good to see other people other than 'wanka young rich boys' driving imports, as they are such good value for money compared to the local junk. Nothing makes me feel prouder than to see respectable mid to late 40s guys driving around in a GTR. Hell I guess its just pleasing to see some imports that arent actually being driven by a certain ethnic minority (majority?)
  15. Okay, my car isnt broken.. But I do figure around the 200,000km mark it will be quite 'tired' so I am looking at ways to bring it back to as new again. How does a rebuild make it more reliable and/or more powerful? what components are changed?
  16. Just as the topic says, I'm curious about getting my engine rebuilt, why one generally does it, when the best time or amount of km's to get it done, and how much it usually costs. I have never had this done. From my understanding its just taking the whole thing apart, cleaning it and then putting it all back together and replacing any internals that are shagged, right?
  17. Dont worry about it, R33's are the new commodore alternative. I bet his last car was a white holden. Hope that makes you feel better.
  18. Personally I love the sound of the sr20det with a 3" straight through and dump pipe. Your just hanging out with the wrong sr20det's mate. But yes I agree that compared to a GTR any car sounds like sh*t.
  19. Sounds like somebody on this forum thinks he's a tough guy. IF he's such a tough guy why doesnt he pipe up in this thread and tell us his side of the story? Maybe a guilty conscience, mmmm?
  20. Your treading on thin ice there: I would own an S15 over an R34 any single day of the week. The r34 is a very tame and boring sedan compared to the sporty S15, (stock to stock) have you driven both? I have. This is personal preference of course, but you can't go and say they are 'far nicer cars' I prefer the interior, the seats, the suspension and the road feel on the S15 as well. I would take a silvia over skyline gtst on all models.. r32 vs s13, r33 vs s14, r34 vs s15 I have thoroughly driven or owned every single car! Have you? ps. Start talking about GTRs and watch me jump the fence pps. I currently own a very fast s13 and a pulsar gtir.
  21. Geoff from prestige motorsport returns all your phone calls, actively helps you find what you are looking for, has the patience of an angel and works hard for his agent fee. He has it down to an art form. His business has staying power and a rock solid reputation. When I import I want there to be the least amount of risk possible, thats why i'm not game to try any of these 'newer guys' in the market. Buying through an experienced importer who has brought in huge volumes of cars only makes sense to me. A big thumbs up to prestige who did a great job helping me import my Pulsar GTiR.. I wouldnt import my next car through anyone else. www.prestigemotorsport.com
