  1. Well I enjoy riceboys roaming the roads. Guys in kitted out hyundai's are more than fun to stomp at the lights or around a set of corners. It's even better when their girlfriend can't take her eyes off YOUR car..
  2. I guess a n/a skyline is still better than a pulsar.
  3. Good observation homer..
  4. Use the old trick of stuffing your muffler with steel wool. I heard someone on the s13 y! group say this is a good temporary way of reducing the sound.
  5. Yeah good plan.. its a sellers market at the moment I tend to agree with you. Obviously with presentation and impression being your main factors being a sales person.. having a luxury car can give off the wrong impression.. but so can driving a sh*t box. I think a Skyline is a good middle ground. Besides, only people who know what a GTR is know how much they cost.. to everybody else its another one of those 'strange skyline import cars' that everyones teenage son has. I am getting a lot of people telling me that these days most people just follow you in their car.
  6. gx: FYI It will cost a lot of money to get an r32 as quick as a 180 or s13 assuming they are sr20det's of course.
  7. Hmm, obviously you havent bought much real estate daveo Every single real estate sales person I personally know drives either a new mercedes or BMW. A lot more expensive than a GTR. (even an r34 GTR) And the entire point of those cars, from my understanding is to look cool. I am certainly not looking at buying a GTR to "look cool". You can put a GTR kit on the very common GTS-t and get the same looks for 1/2 of the price. More to the point, the idea is to buy something that is possibly accomodating to clients. I don't think my highly modified, incredibly loud and scary fast S13 will cut the mustard.. which is why I'm looking at Skylines. Oh, and GTS-t's are not really an option.
  8. Hey Guys, Taking a career change soon. I'm thinking of moving into being a Real Estate sales agent. Do you think that an R33 GTR would be an appropriate car to take clients around in? I would probably have to keep a fairly quiet exhaust on it. Does anyone else here work as a Realo?
  9. gxeug. Dont discount a turbo s13 as a first car. The 8k you're going to get for your cressida means you could put the money your mum is going to lend you into shares or a deposit on some property. The way you spend this money will affect the next 10 years of your life. Go to http://www.pandablue.com/nissansilvia and ask the Sydney boys there if they can take you for a drive one night. Then in two years when you've doubled your money by investing smart you can go buy an R34 GTR. Make sense?
  10. I agree.. this thread is dumb. All of those cars suck. This is the wrong forum to be asking in With that said I voted the Golf. If the SRi Turbo was a convertable i'd vote that.
  11. I'd ask them if they had any surveillance/security cameras pointed at your car first.. if they do you might be able to get the rego number of the guy who did the hit and run.. f***ing assholes.. this is why I steer clear of shopping center carparks. If they DONT.. then you might want to consider trying the trolley idea. :bahaha:
  12. If you really want a sports car as a first car.. and love Nissans.. (which we all do) as a first car for under 10 grand you can't really go past a 1990 silvia ca18det .. you could pick a good model up for about $8000 and it will hold its value pretty well as the price has pretty much hit the bottom. It's fast, rwd, probably almost as quick as a turbo skyline.. very affordable, will whip most other things on the road and costs 1/4 of the price of an r34 gtt. plus its light weight, fun to drive and will teach you a lot about cars and give you enormous amounts of driving experience. If you ding it, scratch it or crash it or write it off.. which YOU WILL DO.. just buy another one. :burnout: After a few years when you know your limits and have earned your stripes, upgrade to a Skyline.
  13. Yeah you guys are right.. unfortunately It still doesnt help this guy figure out the answer to his question. If the engine doesnt have a T on the end who cares anyway.
  14. gxeug, Answer these questions before you get an R34 as a first car. - How many of your friends have scratched, dented, dinged or had an accident in their cars since they started driving? - How many of these cars have been lesser than an R34? - Why do you think peoples first cars are usually old bombs, or cars that are not cool? - Do you think that you would appreciate an R34 more after you own and properly learn to drive in a crappier car first? The same reason we appreciate Fine Restaurant food, because it's better than our standard of cooking at home?
  15. I think FYRARM's information and points are very credible and non biased, unlike the majority of skyline supporters here.. who have probably not driven either of these cars. Your GTS-t with GTR body kit isnt a real GTR guys.. lets be serious now. And so what if you've taken your friends GTR and/or Supra for a strap, you can't really know much about the feel and intracies of either car unless you are an owner. Heresay, public opinion and rumours, particularly in the car community is often total BS.
  16. So with all of the above said, to confuse fellow import drivers, I drive a turbo SR20DET Silvia which is completely debadged including the boot badging and has the CA18 style headlamps.
  17. mad max: Is the boot badge a circle or more square? The SR20's have a circle, the CA18's have more of a square boot badge. Also the SR20's have round halogen lights (99% of the time) and the CA18's have the better looking square headlights. dkonig: Be careful not to spread misinformation.. SR20's have a red rocker cover, CA18's should have a silver one. To confuse tihngs even more, it might be a CA18 with an SR20 Engine dropped in it. But yes, '91 models and above are SR20's.. And no, it would have certainly not been imported in 91.

    The New GT-R...!!!

I want it to hurry up and come out so I can get a cheap r34 gtr...
  19. You pay $500 to make your car go "psshhh!"
  20. 500 should be heaps.. dont bother getting an airbox fabricated, just get a partition for your air pod. Also get the air pod inspected to see if it is one of those deals that needs replacing. What kind of pod is it? Apexi are obviously the best pods.. best filtration, best air flow and never need replacing.
  21. Thanks 2GU UP.. yeah i'm looking at buying the r32 GTR and thinking of ways to modernise the look of the car. Why does having a GTR make a difference of whether you can or cant get the lights, just out of curiosity?
  22. Nice Ride.. Thank god your not another one of those idiots putting a GTR kit on your car and pretending its something its not Stay true to yourself, brother.
