  1. And some would argue that sports cars only have two seats. But that's not the point.. the XR6T is DEFINATELY comparable to the R34 GTT.. same money, same kind of car.. made on the same side of the world.
  2. Rezz: Aristo's arent exactly common like the R34's are.
  3. Now Now guys.. let's not get too carried away. I love my Nissans just as much as you do. But if you want a Nissan family car the GTT & GTST are it. If you want a Nissan sports car you get a 200sx. If you want a racing performance machine you get a GTR. The GTT is a Japanese family car with a turbo 6 engine, just as the XR6T's are. It seems everyone has a different definition of sports car, and family car.
  4. There's no denying that the 240kw the XR6T has is impressive for stock form. How much power does the GTT put out stock?
  5. I thought that would stir the hornets nest a little I think they are quite similar cars, the only difference is the fact that the falcon has four doors. I'm sure in the back the skyline has only a bit less leg room. It's not as outrageous comparison as say, V8 HSV GTS vs R33 GTST.. (differen class, different ages..)
  6. Rezz: A 2 Door Sports car that is slower than a shitbox falcon?
  7. Before someone corrects me, Sorry, typo: R34 GTT.
  8. Both cost the same money, Both are inline6 cylinder turbo's. Heres some fast facts on the fast Ford: Price: $43,965 Engine: Inline 6cyl dohc, 24valve turbo Weight: 1732kg's 0-100km's: 6.0 seconds 0-400m: 14.3 seconds at 162km's/hr Dont have the stats on the R34.. Consider that the R34 you buy for that money will most likely be a '99 model, and not a new car. Which would you buy, and why? Which car is better?
  9. The only convincing argument you can give your dad is that learning to drive in a RWD car means you actually learn how to drive properly
  10. predator: So in America, a skyline of any sort is usually pretty funny looking because they don't see them very often either
  11. When I was in LA & Miami a lot of American guys I would talk to who where into cars would go teary eyed when I would tell them about the jap hi-po cars we can get into the country and how much it costs us in USD..
  12. Hey croat, My g/f is Yugoslav. Good looking people The r32 dash isnt that bad if you put a nismo or equiv dash in. The air conditioning vents on the sides are modern looking, the round ones anyway. To be honest the 'new car' part is definately a plus.. but I have seen some DAGGY r32 gtr's and recently just seen some r32 gtr's that are in absolutely mint condition that made me fall in love with the series. In any case, I will locate the best quality r32 gtr and the dash will be replaced and i will be putting in new soft black leather on the gearshift and handbrake to make it look new again. I guess what I'm trying to say is, I can either get a really beautiful well looked after r32 GTR with low km's, or get a r33 GTR in the lower part of the price bracket that probably isnt as well looked after. FYI I am comparing Stock Standard examples.
  13. EVL33, Yeah, I was having some fun with that on the test drives. I do love both of these cars. And ATESSA is definately fun. I think an R32 would suit me more as its a less 'pimp' looking ride, a bit more down to earth styling.. and imho less inclined to get keyed at your local shopping center by a jealous 80's falcadore owner than an r33.. However, with the 15 year import rule coming in, there will be a lot more people in the lower price bracket range driving around in these. (especially GTR's). This is a bit of a turn off, as mid 2005 everyone will probably have one. Like the Silvias.. The R33 has heaps of room and gets looked at a hell of a lot more though. It's a very tough decision.
  14. Can anyone comment on which of the two cars would be more fun to drive? I thought the r32 was.
  15. The r33 is massive, I don't see how it would brake and corner better.
  16. I'd just call all the Jap import parts suppliers for the window.. If you where in brisbane i'd suggest AllJap, etc.
  17. I'm curious what the thief used the electrical tape for? Breaking the window?
  18. I reckon if you strip out all your heavy stereo equipment you'll get another 4kw at the wheels :bahaha:
  19. Just get a GTR.
  20. Another VS thread. I would like to hear everyones opinions about the R32 GTR vs the R33 GTR. I can afford either one of these very capable machines, and I am weighing up the pro's and cons. I would like to hear what you guys have to say.. Has anyone here owned both? Also current owners of either vehicle's opinions would definately be considered. Thanks,
  21. Great thread. Really enjoyable reading, I agree with a lot of points. I think this is the main thing that swayed me off the skyline GTST's so much.. (particularly the r33's..) they are SUCH a big car! And as stock comparison do times almost as good as my s13. The problem I had during the test drives? The Skyline did not feel as small, chuckable and FUN as my beloved 20det' silvia. Because it was such a big, stable ride, you really have to push it to the edge (which is quite illegal) to make that smile creep across your face. Track day? Definately. The lame-as-hell FWD barina I was driving around in while my car was being repaired however.. floor it around every corner, rev the hell out of the engine, gobble up the gears and you FEEL like you're racing (shitty suspension, nippy bite, shitty traction and handling) but you're actually doing under the speed limit.. lol! Moving right along. my next car is going to be the R32 GTR. It has mind exploding performance in a relatively small car, and I believe even at low speeds you can still have fun in this car... more to the point over the R33. It has that same chuckability, has the image, its the right price and you know if you leave it for 10 minutes in a car park, unlike the later models it won't get scratched by some jealous Ford owner. If the world turned on its head tommorow and R33 GTR's and R32's where the same price, and the same age (impossible, but hypothetically..) I would DEFINATELY go the r32 gtr for the reasons stated above in this thread.
  22. I agree with whoever said 'get a skyline with your own money'
  23. yeah i've had this problem before, The reason your car is jumping is your knee is resting on your raise hydraulics button.
  24. That's awesome. I must admit, there is a great conversion for the mx-5 where you drop that same Lexus V8 into it. After you buy an mx-5 and spend the 20 grand you have a very light, rwd convertable sports car.. that will do 11 seconds Youi can all call me a hypocrite now.
