  4. First of all, XR6T's are great because they are built by an Australian car company. I have a new opinion of Ford since they brought out this car. Someone in Ford was thinking. However I've read many articles from journalists saying the manual gearboxes are crap, and i've heard a lot more people complaining about problems their brand new XR6T have given them.. and the cars are barely a few years old! I've read quite a few threads even on this board about owners having major problems with cars still under Warranty. Second of all, leather is terrible up here in QLD and electric seats are for softies Of course 15 year old GTR's will have problems.. but I can tell you that most of them are still running on the original gearbox and engine. My car is stock standard.. still running on the same engine, clutch and gearbox as it was 16 years ago, my mechanic says its going great and if I leave it unmodified theres still heaps of life left in her. It's tight and has no rattles and has driven a whopping 179,000kms. I drive it (read: Really drive it hard) a couple of times a week up Mt Nebo and it is a very healthy, happy car. I'm not being a smart ass, its a geniune question.. How many 12 second cars have Ford made out of the box that can stand the test of time?

  6. Anyone can buy a car and mod the shit out of it. I'm sure I could build a hyundai excel up to be faster than your car. Is that a cool thing to do? no. The main reason is resale value. Lets be realistic for a second.. Sinking 10k of mods into a GTSt that you pay 25k for.. how much will you be able to sell this car after owning it for a couple of years? 17-18k? Maybe 20k if your really lucky? Or with the 35k you could have bought an r33 GTR.. how much could you sell that same car after the same period of time? Hmmm.. probably 35k, but listing it at 30 would get rid of it pretty damn quickly. Sure, the modified GTS-t may be faster or do cool burnouts, but I know which car would be more balanced and the more enjoyable steer. How many GTR's have you driven anyway?
  7. GTS33SOM: 25k wont buy you a 33 GTR. Its evident from your avatar picture of your car that pulling girls and looking cool is far more important to you than how your car drives. Thats good for you. Saying a GTR is for people who cant drive is true.. people who arent very good drivers can jump behind the wheel of one and smoke your ass. That to me sounds like a pretty good car to buy. Imagine what a skilled driver can do with one?
  8. Hi Guys, I originally bought this for my GTR, but due to a lack of funds and my wanting to put more of a focus on the 'go' than the 'show' on my car, it is up for Sale. This head unit has hardly been used and has not even been installed in a car for at least 6 months, since it was purchased new last year. These are the times i consistently see: Dead Stock sr20det s13 (silvia/180sx) - 14.5 secs Dead Stock r33 gts-t - 15.3 secs I remember when I had my s13 before the exhaust mod, I lined up against a friend in his modified r33 gts-t with fmic, exhaust and boost.. he was a bit ahead but could not pull away from me. We had another race when I got the 3" straight through system on and I left him behind by a couple of car lengths. Consequently all the gtst's I lined up against after that that did not have serious amounts of work done to them got smoked.. When your sitting behind the wheel they just feel bigger and heavier.
  11. Do you think it was a white car that did it? Ask everyone at the party who was there if they can remember who rocked up just after you who drives a white car that has a new scrape on it. If you make a big deal about it and say if the owner doesnt own up you'll do a lot worse to them, news and rumours will spread fast and eventually you'll find out which scum did it..   16. You think, and you are wrong. The 180sx in terms of performance, is quicker. And yep, dollar for dollar mods it is also better. Can the thread starter see any appeal in smoking every r33/v8/wrx etc you see at the lights with attitudes like this? It is what I loved about my s13 Buy a FMIC, 3" straight through, boost controller, then show them who the real men are :uh-huh: See if you can find a sr20det manual silvia instead. It's exactly the same as a 180sx. dewing it, debadge it and drop it.. then you'll have even more people thinking they are in a faster car than you. So much fun.
  17. I've seen cops do crazy shit all the time. I remember seeing a patrol car packed with cops driving around like 18 year olds in a clapped out commodore on party night.. swerving around and just being dicks. They are human as well, of course they abuse their power. I would too if I was in their position. But then again thats why I chose not to be a cop.

  22. If its of any consolidation, and I have limited mechanical knowledge on the topic, I've always felt that cars with stock bov's feel faster than those with aftermarket ones. Whats wrong with the stock BOVs?
