  1. Thats what I love about the Silvia. People underestimate it and get killed.
  2. Did someone say Driveway problems ?
  3. Andrew, Lets just forget anyones seen the the R32 Golf thread in that case! mark: Your car is going to look great!! As for my girl, No more news.. But stay tuned..
  4. OC: Welcome to the lonely life of being wealthy at a young age
  5. Mark: hows your girl going anyway mate?

  7. Gday Mate, Dingo Just Swallowed My Baybee!
  8. Nice Andrew, so mate what about interior pics? As for the brakes, they are 4 pot callipers and you need to press them in a bit further than the brakes on a Silvia.. you'll find that after a bit of a squeeze, when they do grip they should bite strongly and progressively. I know the Yard you bought from near Sunnybank, I've been there a couple of times. I take it your car is an 89/90 model? edit: Also I would never trust the mechanic that the car yard uses, make sure you take your car to somewhere good as soon as possible. Did they change ALL the oils? (ATTESA fluid, Diff etc) Hows the cooling system? Hows the radiator?
  9. Find something more constructive to do when your not behind the wheel of your car maybe?
  10. For everyones information, here is the OFFICIAL list of banned vehicles: http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/downlo...ed_vehicles.pdf FWIW, I think this is the most retarded document I have ever read in my life, this country I was born in is going downhill really, really fast. It shocks me that this made it to publication, and gives us all a very good example of how Australias daft, aging population continues to corrupt the basic freedoms that holds our country together. Can I control the media and brainwash some baby boomers too please? I guess they just do whatever Ray Martin tells them to do. Like Zombies, the Ray Martin followers mindlessly spit out things like "P Platers are over representated, statistically".. and "Hoons are a big problem" .. I am yet to see real and independant statistics to prove this. Do all age groups who hold a license spend a similar amount of time sharing the roads? Do certain age groups (for eg 30-50) drive more expensive, newer cars with higher safety features? Does a P Plater in a $500 datto being mowed down by a drunk 45 year old beaurocrat in his E-Class really stand a chance?
  11. A friend of mine in the USA has an is400 (i think?) .. basically the same shape as the is200/300 but it had a v8 in it. Dual zone climate control, gps,.. and apparantly it did 300hp out of the factory! He took it down the quarter and was doing about 14 flat. It was very quick and quite a monster with traction control turned off.. pity we dont get the good stuff like that here in Australia.
  12. I think a few of us know why the rx-8's are devaluating so fast, right?
  13. Sounds like a typical excuse to check out a hotted up car and raise some more revenue in the name of "Road Safety" .. makes me so mad every time I hear stories like this. Apparantly we live in a "Free Country" too.
  14. maverick: I'd say the difference would be the i/c + exhaust.. yes, believe it or not people put these things on stock turbos because it makes such a massive difference.
  15. interesting to see the comparitive figures between R34 GTT + R32 GTR.. two very different types of cars, yet they both cost between the 22k-38k bracket. I think both are top choices for that price range.. and if I wasnt such a GTR fanboy I would swap mine for a wingless 34 GTT tmrw.. mmmm...
  16. rincewind: Do it, what are you waiting for? Sounds like a great plan.
  17. time to change your signature again. good luck with it
  18. djr81: as I said, wasnt talking about the poster. He just REMINDED me of people like this. lang: Agreed. But when you've got 5 experienced people sitting around who own these cars and know what their talking about and your too stupid to take it in, well you deserve a grilling, man. Anyway, back on topic: The fact is if you dont take the car and get it checked out by an import/gtr specialist, or a decent mechanic, its really your own fault if you get burned! :innocent:
  19. Nothing pisses me off more than people ask for advice, they get given fantastic advice and decide to keep doing what they where going to do in the first place. idiots. (not talking about anyone in particular or anything..)
  20. I thought someone buried this thread already? A corroded exhaust and cooling system is hardly an 'import horror story' .. there are countless people on this forum who have had to pay 5-6 thousand for an engine rebuild within 2 weeks of the car arriving.. corroded pipes just happen to old cars. Same thing happened when I bought my 1990 australian delivered r31.. 0MG P33PZ R31 I BOUGHT FROM DA COURIER MAIL - T3h HORRAH STORY! OMG TEH GOVERNMENT SHOULD STOP IT.. serious is a heart attack.
  21. I agree. Hoons are not a big deal.
  22. krzysiu: Just because I happen to own an r32 doesnt mean I cant vouch for the r33's good points. Infact I mentioned quite a few of them to have a stab at an unbiased post. My best mate had an 800hp r33 GTR in 2000 before most people knew that the r33 existed, and i was re-introduced to skylines with this car. I even said their handling is more refined.. The fact is I own an r32 because I have thoroughly driven r31s, 32 gts-ts, gtrs, 33 gts-t's, a 800hp 33 GTR, a 34 GTT and a 34 GTR. I've owned a Pulsar Gtir and an sr20det s13 that both destroyed gts-t's. Jumping into a GTS-t to me feels like getting into a big, slow s13 / s14 / s15 with more interior room. Which it is. I dont really understand why someone would want to buy a GTS-T as a sports/performance car when you can get a 200sx/silvia equivelant that will blow its doors off mod for mod, and be more of a blast to drive. I guess it depends on how much money you want to spend to make your bigger car go faster than the smaller car. But thats just me, thats how I think. So i've got an r32 GTR in my garage? Yeah I have a 16 year old car that cost me over 20 grand because the r32 is the most raw car out of the series. Its funny how you compare the VN commodore interior to the r32, I actually compare the exterior looks of the 33 to that of a commodore. Particularly white ones. Maybe thats why guys stick the GTR body parts on them.. That reminds me, Hows your GTR wing going mate?
  23. r33 is slower, bigger, but more practical. refined handling characteristics make it less fun to drive, its newer. r32 is quicker, smaller, more enjoyable handling characteristics, less of them around. Older, but if you find a good example this shouldnt matter. You sound like you care more about how the car drives than pulling the chicks at maccas, so get an r32. Test drive as many as you can before you make a decision.
