  1. use a rb25 box for now. you can safely run about 300kw's at the wheels with these. their are 2 at the track with 320kw plus with a rb30 bottom end and they are holding up just fine. not sure how much further you would go though, once your going more than that save up for a pdg gearset or simular
  2. the reason why rotaries suck is people like you who have no idea and think commodores are still in.. do any research and you will find that rotaries quite often dominate drag, circuit and are a sweet street car. make your on choices but after all my experience from the track i would have to say in the last 3 years theirs hasnt been one rotary break down, only ohter issues such as gearbox's and diffs have left them down.. On the other hand you would be suprised if you didnt see a V8 blow or a 4 or 6 punch a hole in a piston..

  4. asking a question like this is on a skyline forum was always going to be a bit dodgey. i bet if you asked the same question on a rx7 forum their wouldnt be one person who said grab the r33. im not sure why their are so many people against the rx7? we are currently running a series 6 as a race car atm, and so far its been great. Only needs a rebuild once every 2 years and this is pushing out 320kilowatts at the wheels and its still using standard gearbox. Our last rebuild we got only cost about 3 grand and this was with pts seals and some slight porting. sounds pretty damn reasonble to me since all of the skylines we are racing atm are needing a rebuild a year and its pretty damn pricey since they are all needing forged shizz to keep their power output anywhere near ours. although im a nissan fan so it definatly makes it hard, for around town i dont think you could go past the rx7, slightly sharper handling perfectly balanced, very light and also being so small will making parking easier. r33 will be a bit better on fuel, will be alot more resonsive, but it is going to twice as big a car.

  6. might aswell upgrade the box dude. after you have done one syncros in racing it always seems to be a recuriing thing.
  7. this thing is crazy! i found this vid of Mark gibbs it in around bathurst, soo fast, watch it eat up the first corner,soo much mid and turn in corner speed, v8 supercar's today have nothing on it. and i found this on wikipedia about the R32 gtr in general, made me laugh "The GT-R name was revived in 1989 with the Skyline R32. This car was nicknamed "Godzilla" by the Australian motoring publication "Wheels" in its July 1989 edition, a name that sticks to this day. The R32 GT-R surprisingly dominated the motorsport in Japan, winning a 29 straight victories out of 29 races. The GT-R proceeded to win the JTC Group A series championship 4 years in a row, and also had success in the Australian Touring Car Championship winning from 1990-1992, until the GT-R was outlawed in 1993." kinda seems suitable

Hey guys. just wondering what sort of heights you guys are currently running your R32 Gtr's. this is for track use, obviously the saying goes the lower you go the better but their has to be a point where its just to low and the suspension has to be to stiff. Atm we have it setup on about 90mm from the lowest point, would you guys go any lower?
  11. yeah sweet job man. although for anyone else i would strongly recommend that you take the caliper off before you get nastys like paint stripper all over your pads and brake disc. contamination like that to the disc can have serious effects on braking power. even though you clean it off the brakes are never the same trust me i have done this
  12. hey guys, yeah i currently have a R32 gtr the brakes do feel abit dodgey esspecially after driving cars like rx7 s6's their brakes seem to be miles ahead. i like a solid pedal and back when i used to race karts i used to have the brake pedal set up so solid that pretty much no one except me could brake in my kart without spinning out. Im also very aggressive under brakes, which i no isnt always good and causes alot of over heating problems. its a hard thing to decide, keep the commetns coming though guys it really does help, the more i find out the R32 the faster mine should be. cheers

Hey guys, i've just been in a good 2 or 3 hour discussion with dad and a few other racing mates on weather we should run Abs. it seems all good in theory and you cant lock a brake, flat spot a tyre and techniqually you should be stopping in the shortest distance possible.. The plus's for not having abs seems to be weight, adjustablity and being able to adjust the Brake Bias in a race. I see alot of guys not running their Abs, and all of the V-Spec and Nismo model Gtr's dont have Abs standard which seems a bit odd to me. I'm just wondering what really is giving you the best braking power, because i'm not worried about flatspotting tyres but just want the best overall braking performance.. cheers Guys
  15. Hey guys, i no this is a tad off topic but heres my new helmet, its all to do with racign so guess what ever goes. Just got if off the boys at Ladesigns, luke really did an awesome job and im happy with it.
