  2. Guys , I have a 96 gtst sII and i have just started to hear a repeated click but its not comming from the console it appears to be aroung the dash.. It does vary in speed as the motor revs and only when you are moving. After reading this thread i am more aware each time i get in the car (Dam it) crank the radio loader to disperse the clicking sound now as well...lol Have you guys any ide? i whatched the odemeter & trip meter to see if the moved when it clicked buit i couldnt tell as they both appear to turn over fine.... Regards, Darren

  7. After a week of brr brr brr coming outa the exhaust & car shaking & driving like absolute shit. I did the coilpack trick to no avail and eventually went to see David from DMD-Tuning as we knew the coilpacks were shot when we boosted up to 14PSI. They started to breakdown upon higher boost so we swapped them over with his 2nd hand ones he had for a tempory fix but it didnt change. removed all spark plugs and noticed one was all gunged (if such a word) up. cleaned them & put em back but still was like it had a very lumpy cam on. he hooked up his laptop with Nistune loaded and listed to my standard (returned) ecu and one by one he disabled the coilpacks and noticed the drop in RPM until he came accross cylinder one and there was no drop in RPM..ah ha dead spark plug, replaced with a spare and now back to normal. He's a bloody genious.... Thanks heaps Dave if you see this................. Dazza

  10. Does anyone know where David from DMD-Tuning is? I have been trying to get hold of him for 4 days and his mobile just goes to voicemail....... Hope he's alright as he/was about to install a Nistune into my car on friday????? Regards, Darren
  11. Cheers guys. yes i know to use the engine or component for the -ve and disconnect the battery while chargeing I just thought it odd that the charger peaked at 8 amps at the fuse box yet straight after (2 mins) when connected to the battery it draws 2-3 amps. I suspect this is due to the battery location in the boot . I mean the battery would have to have cables going thru to the motor hence it may put a load when charging from the fuse box? who knows..... Darren
  12. I previously posted in the Vic forums but got no where so i thought i would (should of originally) post it in here. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Guys , I had a situation where i left a door ajar overnight and well you guessed it my battery was dead. My question to everyone (and i know its dumb) is actually 2 fold. Where do you go to both jump start & charge your battery for your car. Its either at the battery &/or at the fuse box..... The reason i asked was that i tried to charge the battery in situ via the fuse box under the bonnet but the meter on the charger went ape and peaked at 8 amps then reset back to 0 and then again to 8 amps. Which actually scared the crap outa me as i couldnt get the connectors off fast enough... BUT when i connect it to the battery it goes to 2-3 amps as per all my old NA cars of old... I did jump start it as the car was in the garage head first so i opened up the boot and did it that way. I am sure you can do the same from where the fuse box is as well but actually can you CHARGE from the fuse box area is really my question as I should of stated firstly... Now this question on behalf of all the dumbasses out there that were too scared to ask (me included) Dazza
  13. I guess i dumbed down the question a little much... Firstly ...Yes i know red to red terminal , Black to black or chasis etc... I did jump start it as the car was in the garage head first so i opened up the boot and did it that way. I am sure you can do the same from where the fuse box is as well but actually can you CHARGE from the fuse box area is really my question as I should of stated firstly... The reason was that when i connected up the charger to the fuse box area and stated in my first post went right to the max 8amps and cutoff the back again BUT when i connect it to the battery it goes to 2-3 amps as per all my old NA cars of old... This is the question i need an answer to guys!!!! Darren

  16. Saw Laurence today at wheeltech and he quoted me $150 per wheel to bake 2pack the wheels & to polish/buff the rims... undecided as a bit pricey and it all adds up i guess. Dazza
  17. No worries & thanks Alex. They look good on my silver r33. Only problem though was when i took them out of the boot of the commodore i stood the first one up, grabbed the 2nd and bumped the 1st and as it always happens it fell face first onto the concrete and marked/scratched 3 of the ribs.... Boy was i pissed at myself for doing such a stupid thing... will post pic's soon though. Good luck with the studies dude.. Ps:let me know about your white gtr when you leave... lol Dazza
  18. finally got it in, yes i did rotate the hose clamp. i actually added some fuel hose (cut a 1cm piece & and split it in 1/2 ) to mount behind the bracket & pump. I noticed the original was supported on rubber so i did this to removed any vibrations. Boy what a pain in the arse job though.... its in and staying that way now though as I dont want to go through this dramma again... thanks for advice though guys.... Ps I get this fixed then my pc has a hernia hence my late reply back. Now to fix that bloody pc...hmmm
  19. GUys i finally got my original pump out. (dam hoses were sooo tight) anyway I have now mounted the pump on the bracket & wired it all in. My question is how the Heck is it fitted. I have spent ages fiddleing with it in the tank but to no avail, it just dosnt seem to fit. Is there something I am missing as others have got it in?? I have attached a phone pic of the pump mounted on the bracker with a hose clamp around the pump after cutting the original bracket. maybe peoples on here dont hose clamp as this is all I can see that maybe stopping it go in or do you have to insert it a certain way or somthing... Please help as its getting cold and I am starting to lose my temper with this pump.. Dazza

  21. r31nismoid... you said "I tested mine so i know it works 100% and comes on exactly as it hits "E", something you can fixup/test if you change fuel pump etc." how exactly did you do the test & adjust it to comeon on the line of empty? Dazza
  22. Jamesk, Thanks dude. now i know. and to know that it only comes on .5-1mm under the empty line is handy to know as well... Lets just hope that the globe isnt blown as I am on the empty line now...... Dazza
