ok yes a stupid question.... But where is it on the dash? shouldnt it light up the key is turned to accessory? I am down to the empty line as I want to install a bosch 040 fuel pump and i started to wonder why it hasnt come on? Regards, Dazza

Guys, I recently had my motor rebuilt (actually a new 2nd hand motor rebuilt) and i was thinking the other night my insurance & rego wont reflect the new number and thefore went out to inspect it .Mind you it was a bit dark but i had a torch of sorts but for the life of me cant seem to find where abouts its located..... Does anyone know where the engine number is on the above mentioned motor? Regards, Darren

Finall got her back, Thanks for all the offers for motors etc guys but i ended up with a long motor that was re ringed and the bores honed and all my gear (cam belt, water pump, idler&tension bearings) added to it.... This week has been crazy.... Firtstly my mother was admitted to hospital in Bendigo Then i pull time an afternoon off work to pickup car only to find out that its not ready (wasted $50 in taxi fares) mechanic needed immobilsier key (i forgot to give him) Car starts and no oil pressure (ended up being an air blockage) Once determined thats ok but now since no oil pressure all Main bearings need replacing so another day.... meanwhile... next day was careers leave to head up and see mum to only breakdown on Monash Freeway with the Hyundai Lantra with a (confirmed now) broken cam belt.. (motor now F$%^&d). Urgently need car so mecha gives R33 to me after fitting bearings but not been on Dyno so no boosting until next week . So have the car back only to drive like a granny...(dammit) next week will be dyno time and fitment of original air box with pod mod underneath adjustment of bonnet as not correctly alligned, dash boost gauge has now been disabled and my pos boost gauge now appears to be jolty (such a word?) so need new one and another blowoff vavle as this one seems to leak boost??? At least i have the car i guess..... Dazza Ps: missus is turning 40 so have been very stressed with supprise party and now am broke......arrrgghhh

R31Nismoid, yeah , when I had the timing belt done , all pulleys & water pump were replaced... as regards to rebuild time , boy would i love too but cash is short so i have 2 choices of either getter a 2nd hand long motor and then (replace belt,pulleys,water pump) or getting a 2nd hand long motor which have been honed & re-ringed and then (replace belt,pulleys,water pump) The 2nd optioned has been proposed/advised by my mechanic who said its a better start again knowing the state of the motor over just replacing a motor....(makes sense I guess) I am not after a huge power build..was actually wanting to get to 253-250 rwkws originally Dazza

inspected the engine today and what a mess. piston shatered and conrod twisted and snapped in several places . bent valves and head damages under number 1 Cylinder. block damaged around bore etc..... pic of piston & rod listed as well Dazza Oh and the cam belt is ok less than a month old...

Would you believe taking off from the lights & getting to 2nd gear changing before turbo spools up at about 2500rpm and about to get to 3rd and rattle rattle ,loss of oil pressure ,switch off and pull over. I was driving like a granny trying to save some fuel. Now if i was hammering it i could wear it butttt.. Dazza

Well just had my motor taken outa my car and the news is not goog.... F%*@ked crank, broken conrod,Shattered pistone, bent valves.. Need a new replacement "Good" motor guys. any takers or should I say givers? If you guys know of or heard of any late model R33 RB25det (preferably SII) motors going please send a pm or reply back to this as I am in a bad state (slightly pissed) trying to numb the pain a bit. But not giving up as the rest of the car is very clean so want it going again. beens weeks now and really getting annoyed with driving the Hyundai Lantra S-Box around all the time.. Depressed Dazza..

Cant quite explain that one. Who knows what the guy did before me with it. I just thought since the motore will be out may as well do right from day one with forged gear and if I choose later down the track for some higher Hp output i know i could handle it.. Dazza

GUys I recently threw a rod, and since this am looking for some forged gear since the motor will be outa the car. Can you guys suggest brand & price for forged pistons & conrods and where they are available (shops) or if anyone has any available (laying around the house)? Cheers & thanks Guys, Dazza

Well I can get them close to $320 , i believe their worth close to $600..(new) Also i have another question that if 1 of my conrods is broken do you just swap that one or do you do all 6 at the same time? Dazza

Guys, I believe that I may of crackedd/broken a conrod in my R33 GTST SII. Now I have a question as I have a friend that had some forged conrods that have been used (for about 4000Km's). Now my question being not very mecahanical but can you reuse conrods (even if that are forged) in another engine? Hopefully you can give me some worldly advise.. cheers, Darren.

Hey I was wonder what the ofset & wheel spec for an R33 Gtst? My mate has some mags and I am not sure if they will fit my car... are they...... Stud pattern is as follows: 5 x 100mm/114.3mm +40mm offset ???????? Regards, Darren

Jetlnr, I gave ben a call and will organise for him to have a look possibly friday. seems a nice bloke and was telling about the big power builds (well over 300rwkw) that he's been accross. Hopefully he can give me the lowdown on my condition and maybe just maybe build it on the cheapish Thats for his headup though. will let you know how it goes post friday. Dazza
