  1. ahh ok I wasnt sure on that..
  2. probably about the same as you , albeit with more low down torque but also 400kg more weight to pull..
  3. ok lets add up roughly if you are starting from scratch. pfc s/h 600-800$ without a hand controller unless you have a good friend selling you one dirt cheap.. hand controller 150$ afm upgrade 200$ datalogit thing for tuning 200$ boost controller..200$ thats well in the vacinity of 1500 already with no options for flex fuel or MAP unless you get a d-jetro which is more $$$ again... Sorry but I tried it and it just wasn't worth the coin for old equipment when i could get new equipment with it all built into one unit, so its also far less clutter in my engine bay..the only extra thing I needed was an air temp sensor 40$ and a boost solenoid 50$...Plus when a hose blew at Sandown my car drove home fine on the inbuilt MAP sensor ....
  4. exactly right you need multiple maps meaning multiple tunes...Adaptronic only needs 2 tunes in theory it takes the ethanol content and VE chart works out the rest...Not sure how well it works in practice yet though...I know a few tuners complain about software but its always being updated and probably just takes a little getting used to... PFC is always going to be one of the best and is fine if you dont mind well used equipment as opposed to brand new...but if you want a flex option it doesnt give you much choices other than hauling your laptop everywhere you go.. leavin this here just for fun...
  5. Why close thread...adaptronic select ecu can run dual maps...put a switch In The dash and fuel swap is as easy as the flick of a switch...add to that built in map and boost control and your all done under 1500$..or it can also run an E-sensor too if you wish and can adjust itself between your 2 tunes automatically ,something im not sure the others ecus can offer.. You can of course add a E-sensor and map sensor to all the other 2000$ ecus + extra tuning and you're looking at nearly double the price by the time its done... Anyway enough of the free plugs..Its that or a Link, just my opinion.
  6. yeah right....lol

Don't think so.. Aaron once again I have no idea what you are talking about.
  12. What's your point...at the end of the day they still make faster cars and make more money...its win win for them and all lose for the Aussie made car unfortunatley...
  13. Obviously times have been changing...many more used to be in manufacturing but realizing the the future of the industry has led the manufacturing elsewhere..The commodore especially is just a Frankenstein of other makers parts thrown into a shell that suits the average Aussie..Ford at least design alot of there own everything and as a worldwide company will probably never go under..While Holden will become a subsidiary of GM. When it is more viable to can it than carry on, these long term employees in manufacturing (that are probably only still there due to union movements not actual supply and demand) will no doubt receive nice redundancy And it will all be over... The demise of Ford Holden Australia is nothing new, they have been working up to it for years..It doesn't matter how many die hard fans they have here in aus they just can't crack the world market and so can't really compete... But they are going out with a bang with alot of big hp hippy eating cars at least.
  14. Holden and Ford create alot of jobs locally...of more to the point already employ alot of people locally...they go under that's alot of people that need new jobs or will be applying for welfare.. My guess is the boffins in accounts figure its cheaper for now to prop up the industry than deal with the fallout if they go under...
  15. I got a bunch of those bikes..even got 2 of Stoners ducati ...R1, busa, Gsx-r, kwaka and an aprilia....few others too... Are they plastic or diecasts.??

  21. who "rights" or who "writes".... either way my guess is Stevie Wonder or Ray Charles
  22. Haha or NOS...2 of the big ones...Nah, once you hit 400kw there is no longer simple answers...could you use less boost of the line maybe through the first 2 gears...then jack it up to finish If I was going to build a drag car I'd be running an auto anyway, it must be annoying you the illusive 10...

In a perfect world there would be no speedhumps...or potholes...or speed limits...
  24. geez Ron I'd be pretty pissed if I just built a 290kw car and it didn't wheelspin... mine sticks like glue with 255/40/17 race tyres and a little throttle/clutch control...however my 235 street tyres spin on command and thats half the fun of it Theres more to racing than just mashing the pedal mate..Unless you just want to drag race then the answer is simple..your suspension is too hard and you want more fatter softer rubber.. But on a racetrack you will find knowing when to brake, turn and change gears is far more important than just getting power down...Any idiot can get a car up over 200kms its knowing what to do with it when you're there that makes you fast... As Mark said, do some driver training and report back...
