  1. Well u proved me wrong.
  2. ..Put the 2 pieces of manifold together, is it a clean break or is there chunks missing..Its cast alloy even if little fragments did make its way in the combustion chamber of would melt down and get spat out pretty quick I imagine.. Still,if you are losing compression something is seriously wrong in there. The head will have to come off at the very least
  3. I don't think it will make anymore power than it did before.. Possibly spool a little earlier and feel better/faster through the midrange though. How's your compression, holding up alright, have u gone new valve springs as well as cams?
  4. Just out of curiosity, how do you tell compression is down on one cylinder under load?
  5. Do they have you at knifepoint, should we send the police ... So how did it break? or are you gunna be all suspenseful again..
  6. Ok, I guess it looks like they just smashed it trying to get your busted nut off then..
  7. Martin, when you tightened the bolts on the plenum how did you do it. Did you start in the middle and work your way around tightening them like you would headbolts. Or did you just tighten one end right up tight then do the other end. This could of quite easily slightly twisted the manifold to some extent, then starting it up and applying some heat and vibration has cracked it pretty much instantly.. I would say the shop has just taken it off to see if it is leaking and thats when they spotted it..
  8. Ok, are those times based on peak hour or normal traffic, does trip planner allow for red lights..?? I find 59 mins very hard to believe seeing as I do Thomastown to Frankston in an hour in normal traffic I dont know, but in normal traffic I reckon I would do it quicker on the ring road than you would your way..especially to King and Collins..peak hour could be a different matter though. In your position I would go your way too , you save on tolls and freeway traffic is very unpredictable...
  9. ahh ok now I get ya, I was reading it wrong.. thats not what she said
  10. Series 1 front bar is the bomb..
  11. No disadvantages, get it you won't be disappointed with that turbo.. I thought you already had a HG though..
  12. ^^^^ is so true, it actually depresses me how much I DONT drive my car anymore.. get a better exhaust is a must, basic servicing and a tunable ecu and run at 10-12psi you should have around 300hp then drive it until the turbo blows. Could be a week could he years..when it does get a hiflow for 1000$ and continue tuning and driving. Chasing big power is riddled with headaches..just drive its tits off as it is and you will find good suspension setup Is just as beneficial as more power, then replace stuff as it breaks and not before. otherwise you just end up with a 5-600hp car and the realization that you don't really know how to drive it.
  13. ahh yeah..thats not bad timing then...You can do it in under 30mins around the ringroad off peak times
  14. thanx for the explanation there btw .While i get the basic principle here, any chance you could elaborate on how you get these backpressure figures...or are they just derived from testing.. if you have 48psi and 10psi intake, then double the intake to 20psi is that going to double the backpressure pre turbine as well, and how come the 2L has 32psi of boost?
  15. I ran 90psi through mine accidently..the pump started squeeling rather loudly..still ok as far as I know..but now Im uncertain...
  16. Guess it's application dependant really too Doris running hard on the limiter it might be a struggle with heat.. I drive like a little old lady in comparison so it won't as much an issue and maybe is worth the sacrifice for low down response and possibly/hopefully a punchier midrange
  17. Its hard to control heat at what point, 18psi-22psi where? cause I have been thinking for a while now to run e85 and low boost for a healthy 280-300.. Is this going to work or should I cut my losses here and just ditch it for a T67 comp
  18. So is it an issue?
  19. Its a tomei pump, good reg..pretty sure it was holding before I got a leak..
  20. Could it just be the limiter bashing
  21. So I found a leak on my rail the other week, dodgey o-ring..no worries welded a bung in it problem solved.. fit it all back up and prime.. Now with ignition still on ,fuel pressure hits 3bar , then ever so slowly drops down to about 1-1.5 bar then sits there.. I haven't started it up yet and I can't find another leak anywhere. but is it right that it drops still, or should it be holding at 3 bar? Just want to make sure before I bolt all my pipes back up..
  22. <p>Is that around the ring road onto citylink?
  23. Yeah your pretty much screwed from there..you could try Johnston or Gertrude st but its probably not going to be alot quicker.. then again the Eastern is shocker at that time so it's worth a try. Of you keep going the sane route everyday your never going to find out if there's a better one.. Page 44-46 in the melways...study it and try something different
  24. just go to Scottys house and he will weld it up for ya
