  1. moral of the story is, dont even tell your wife your buying a turbo let alone ask her which one..lol
  2. this clutch man http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/397134-kaskos-clutch/page__st__20
  3. lol....smart ass....new clutch is in birds...is yours I remember you were a mineral oil fan too yeah, guy just put VMX-M in it...I was like, yeah whatever...
  4. But it's not an internal gate turbo anymore Clutch is in fellas, feels gooooooood....can be a bit edgey on take off, (trying to drive it with my chunky workboots on was tricky) but after that all is good....very light pedal but when it bites it bites hard... now planting the foot in 2nd is alot more exciting than it was..... I got a rolling video here for shitsngiggles, soon as i figure out how to get it off my phone Anyone else noticed there's funky new emoticons...
  5. Fuel filter is in the engine bay..if it hasne been replaced in the last couple years replace it. Ya know, just in case
  6. Check for blocked filter too..
  7. well I wouldnt call that biased, I would call that tried and tested ... I'll stick wih it Just out of curiosity ,whats in ya gearbox..
  8. nah, keep the housing... find an E85 pump and watch the magic happen .....
  9. Yeah looking on the brightside, now you get to test the billet wheel at least.
  10. Bummer, nah u need a vband housing..
  11. Yeah top mount all the way, especially for that sort of coin.. Also there's a few welding gates onto manifolds lately, yes it works to sone extent but this is a budget hack mod..those of you with cash to spend on good setups shouldn't even be considering it.. Yeah I'm looking at you Nick
  12. like this one u mean....: http://www.ebay.com....=item43ae65a12c pretty sure an 8cm wont get anywhere near 300kw on pulp..e85 might get you closer but not happily ...def get a 10cm
  13. yeh i been wondering the same..i just put HPR10 in as its cheap and only really seeing street duties and i was sick of spending 80 bucks on oil just to drop it 2000kms later cause it hadnt been driven much.. but wether or not its designed for engines pushing double factory power is something im unsure of as yet...Might be better off with the Edge
  14. http://www.vhtpaint.com/products/wrinkleplus/ its ordinary paint made by VHT..about 20$ at any auto store...it is tricky to get right too..i painted my coil cover and timing belt cover 3 times before i was happy with the finish and even then its not that great..You got through a can of the stuff pretty quick too i went through 2 or 3... You apply it very thick and as it dries it bubbles up, but getting a uniform finish where it wrinkles evenly is hard..helps if you wave heat over it like a hair dryer as it dries...i think for best results ideally you would need heatlamps or something that can apply heat evenly...
  15. hey tyson it looks like you got it ceramic coated as well, was that included in the price or was it 800 just for the porting..
  16. that feeling is mutual my friend I beleive he was offered a replacement wheel fitment but he has to pay for the wheel...it would of been nice to throw in the wheel.. if u do this, should try a billet comp wheel while its being done...either way its not like its an expensive fix..
  17. lol...u got no hope..its a well used item, whos to say it hasnt seen excessive temps or something.. cmon guys we all know the car game, stuff always breaks, you get what you pay for, its worth 1/3 what you pay for it the minute its used, never expect a miracle and warranties arent worth the paper they are written on... besides, It may have lasted ages like that had you not pulled it off and noticed the damage.. its 400$ for a new core, or what is it 100$ maybe to replace the wheel...suck it up and move on...
  18. I'm running spitfires and wasted spark..no issues as yet..
  19. yeah way im going I wont need it anyway
  20. Yeah but what else have you changed Hamish..I have seen the condition of your filters mate, A new fuel and air filter can make a huge difference alone to a cars performance.. plus better compression yadda yadda etc..try putting a 5/30 oil in it now and i bet you notice a little difference I haven't tried Edge..maybe one day for kicks..so believe me in not knocking it..especially if it comes with RP seal of approval, who am I to argue But I think we have gone off track here cause what this thread is about is "ethanol oils" and that is why I chose the "hpr10" because I was going to tune for e85 .I was actually on my way to the servo to get a drum when Cat rang to tell me the clutch was no good 1..It is SN rated and it should be good with ethanol, its been designed for it 2..It is cheap so I could change it very often anyway I was also tempted to just use my diesel oil "hpr5" same as my ute ,as it too should be good with ethanol and I also considered the Motul you are using If I wasn't planning ethanol I would definately just stick with the 8100 , I did like it better...or maybe even try the castrol. Though the way I'm going I will never see an e85 tune anyway..lol..
  21. So you have the exact same oil pressure with the edge as you did 4100..? I went from 8100 to hpr 10, it has gone up a little I wasn't knocking using edge at all. I have just found all cars feel a little more lively with lighter oils, especially if your down on power..if you have 500 ponies under the hood then it's hardly a problem.. But really what's edge worth 60-70$..it seems everybody is saying the best option with e85 is too change it often, so if you can get a capable oil for half the price..well it makes sense to me .
  22. I've become a bit of a penrite fanboy of late so I may not be the best judge..but it's in everything diff/engine/box in both my cars and I'm happy. 40$ for hpr10, SN rated, full synth, full zinc..its a bargain I only just started using it and havent out e85 in it yet so don't want say it's the best choice and misinform people It does run a little thicker than I would like on the street but oil pressure stays consistent when pushed and I would even be comfortable using for light track duties...
  23. Probably a bit thick, better with a 10/40 or 10/50Castrol Will be fine but there are cheaper alternatives..just look for an SN rated oil
