we had a look at 2, a fastback and a convertible..both were resprays done some time ago..both in need of some restoration
The fastback wasnt too bad the driveline needed some work oil leaks everywhere..there was rust evident seeping through the seams here and there and some small holes in the passenger footwell..but it was nice and straight and the interior in good original condition..
The convertible had a dodgey respray and lots of bog in the inner door sill area,obviously where water has leaked from the hood..i was very skeptical, but the driveline seemed alot cleaner..
All in all though, looking at least 30k plus 20k maybe for restoration...wondering is it better to build one from scratch then cause apparently an Elenoar conversion is on the cards too..
Will look into those repro shells .
But at over 30k a pop, is that the going rate for a rough stang these days..I remember my boss picking a reasonably clean one up for under 20k 15 yr ago
