  1. well the story unfolds...the bits Roy didnt tell... Roy has more experience... John has massive brakes... Justin needs shock therapy...
  2. 230 _240kw if your lucky..... Looks alot like my old turbo, Might be ok down low but will fall over real quick
  3. lol..i love your budget tips man...good news cause my filter is still new...
  4. someone tried to recomend i upgrade to 3/8 hose to go with my -6 fittings.. but although the fitting is bigger the inlet hole is still the same size as 5/16 hose.. Kind of made me wonder whats the point of going larger hose then so I didnt get it..still 5/16(7.5mm) off the shelf fuel hose everywhere.. So what filter you recomending Scott?? probably should upgrade mine as well..are the basic ryco filters even E85 compatible
  5. I just drove from melbourne to warwick. Took the Newell (POS road)...with cruise control on about 110-120 we left at 5am got there at 1am , add 2 hours for brissy.. my missus did a bit of driving but only a few hours so i could powernap..But i drive 12hrs a day for a living so Im kinda used to it.. drink a shitload of red bull.. Didnt hit any roos on the Newell but did hit foot deep water in the middle of the night doing 100, that was rather scary..there was no sign. must of been washed away done the drive a few times now and personally I dont recomend the Newell at all, it may be shorter (only by about 100-150kms) but the road is absolute rubbish, potholes, no passing lanes, suicidal wildlife and you have to slow down to 50 for all the towns.. Also if you break down on the Newell your in the middle of bumf*k Idaho, which means no mechanics for just in case moments and very expensive towtrucks. New England Hwy > Hume Hwy is a much nicer drive, you can stop in Sydney for the night or, If you back block around Sydney there is some great mtn roads.. but stay away from Lithgow (*Zombies*) theres also a (not very good) thread about this already http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/377553-driving-vic-to-qld-any-is-there-any-good-stuff-to-see-on-the-way/page__hl__driving+vic+to+qld__st__20
  6. my nuts are always tense but yeah just had another look and they're not really long enough..
  7. oh..i have about 5mm poking out still with a 10mm spacer...so should still work
  8. yep..if its a 10mm spacer ford studs fit perfect...got 4 for 10$ at random exhaust shop...or go to ford..
  9. Your cars still running Roy...thats a win right there ...Video was very cool too, I wonder how Patricks car would go against them.. I have no idea why I build my car..all I know is I cant stop..lol....if it ever wins anything I guess that'll be a bonus...
  10. yeah i was thinking of a 33 gtr rim when i wrote that not 32..
  11. yeah good old taxi wheels are probably easiest, 15 tyres be cheaper too..but there is plenty of lines running into the 10s on stock rims with 235/60s MTs (or were they 255s :unsure):.. I Got plenty of stockies here if u need em Roy...I dont think its all wank, wanking is what I did alot of before I had a car but f**k Roy in the same thread you are posting about wanting to dynotune 15 different turbos to log the slight differences in each u post a video/rant like this..so either you just wanted to brag that you were were winning or you are finding all that dynotuning hard to justify now? Either way, i dont blame you...lol i havent watched the vid either yet,im sure it will be good.. .while they all might be as quick as each other on a track, its much more fun to just drop the clutch with twice as much power..but yes you can be just as competitive for alot less coin.. I often wish I had built my car more like John has and just got out there, but then again if all I wanted was a budget racer I could buy an MX5 and have just as much fun... But f**k that I have an engine capable of 500hp so why not have it...im not trying to win anything, i just do it for my own enjoyment..which ,now that i think about it, is alot like wanking
  12. and thats just the weight of Johns wallet...
  13. is this a trick Q? Whats the event? for starters I wouldnt run a GTR rim on a gtst..
  14. yes that was a lovely rant Roy and you're right power is just a number, as you can only take a skyline around a corner so fast before the laws of physics take over and say no more... While you point out that the car with more power isnt any better off, it definatly isnt any worse off either.. Now everybody head down the quarter, drifting, burnouts, dyno day, gymkhana and lets see who is the overall winner..cause there is more than one form of motorsport remember
  15. yeah it doesnt look to bad in the pic..maybe just cut it so its at least straight if thats your worry, dont matter so much if it sits flush, as long as the cut is neat it will look clean.. Mesh can be bought form supercheap , otherwise if your really anal about it just source a new front bumper and start again cause its the only way you will be truly satisfied.. If theres one thing I know about cars its that they are like women.. that is the closer you get to them the more you notice the little things that are wrong with them..sometimes you just have to stand back a distance and look at her from someone elses eyes, then you realize its not as bad as you think... my car is f**ked, the panel gaps are all out, there 3 different shades of grey paint, the dog has run all over the roof and scratched it, and theres about 4 million cable ties holding it together, but everytime I see it leave my house on a towtruck I think, you know it looks pretty good from a distance.....lol nice turbo btw..
  16. @ Roy..could it be your problem is velocity..same as when you put 3 inch cooler piping when u dont really need it You have too much flow for the power you are trying to make and it has slowed the air down...especially if you have a manifold that is designed for 2.5 and 3.0L enignes, or is the rb20 item a different design? Air hits turbine but now has a lack of backpressure, so its made it lazier..on the plus side it should run cooler Simple answer is, get a bigger engine and/or turbo...lol
  17. that he did...wish we saw the hole in the engine...
  18. anyone else see this, its no kando but............. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/391162-r32-r33-r34-500-550hp-kit/page__gopid__6241399#entry6241399
  19. Spend your money on tools and install it yourself..pretty sure you need a twin scroll manifold for it to work properly though.. or just buy this housing, would be an easier option..
  20. been thining about switching to Penrite as well, I use it in my other cars and its great stuff and about half the price of motul so can change it more frequently. Ive only put it in my 33 diff and it feels good..think I will just go with the HPR 10, 10-50...think its good for ethanol too yeah hoiw much is the ten tenths stuff?
  21. f*kn lol....
  22. ahh yes that too..pretty sure mine was heated with a torch then left to cool..Im not exactly sure..
  23. they be better if they were 22s though...does anyone know if you can fit 22s on a 33
