  1. sounds about right.. to do it yourself, manifold, 1500-2000$ turbo, 1500-2000$ oil and water lines and custom dumps 1000$ wastegate 500$ still about 5k ...
  2. getting a new tune is a waste of time if you have dirty, leaky injectors though...first things first fix em...
  3. remove injectors get them cleaned and replace o rings replace o2 sensor..upgrade fuel pump (optional).. Should feel like a new car
  4. Im just sayin it was a little easier to drive, not as much skill needed just smash it and go... Sure you can do anything with "correct throttle control" but hey, if you have skill you dont really need synchros in your gearbox either...but they sure do make life easier...lol
  5. its a traction thing..its the way the max toque is delivered.. I know my with old turbo came on so much smoother with a factory airbox even ,just putting the pod on it would make it snap noticably harder into boost/max torque making it easier to lose traction ,which is fun but I prefered the smoothness and tractability with the airbox, even if it was making a few kw less...I could feed power on hard without slipping around or kicking out so much.. Guess it depends if you want to slide or drive..
  6. Nice work Micko...whats the heatshield on your turbo??
  7. why must you have to tempt me with new things when I havent even got the old thing going yet Thats not the same billet wheel you were talking about the other day is it..It certainly doesnt look as fancy, just looks like the stock wheel painted gold. if its not too costly I may consider it..in the name of science..after my car is working again that is..
  8. Yes...if i had of just got that in the first place I wouldnt be where i am now But somehow even when I try to do things properly I end up doing them the hard way...f**k you fate and your friend destiny too....
  9. Dont have a wideband as yet, maybe I should just get one.., but yeah I have software dude, I just dunno what Im doin ...
  10. yeah probably, will try again tomorrow, when its cold..if it works when its cold its probably just running lean when its hot.. that or my flux capacitor is f**ked again..
  11. Stock manifold?? mines ready when you are Trent..you have message..
  12. whens GOR...i gotta deliver a dog to warnambool...
  13. really, tuners do that Cmon guys seriously, free towing, home delivered tuners ...what is this fantasy land your all living in.. no wideband yet...dont matter will just have to wait it out, whats the bet hes booked out till october now
  14. Oh son of rajab....I knew I shouldn't of asked So whats this NRMA plan u got?
  15. well that is the plan was hoping to get it in a roughly driveable state first..so I can drive it there.. I could just call a towtruck but thats kind of a fail..
  16. okie dokie, its raining now so im stuck inside so I got the adaptronic in, came pretuned so I just set injector size made some adjustments to injector deadtime as advised.. Started first kick and idled away nice, few revs and it seems ok, no smoke, exhaust doesnt smell rich at all,..fuel pressure sitting on 3 barish..cheap gauge tho, could be dodgey.. then after it warmed up it starts to hunt around rather randomly too, has huge flat spot if you try squeeze on the gas a little and a bit of a miss.. Anyways Im kinda stumped, any ideas??
  17. maybe...do they tic too?...sounds seems to travel up and down the rail.. or did you mean the hunting? I've done about all I know how to do now..time for some professional assistance I think
  18. woohooo... My cars running, started first kick too, much to my surprise..run ok for a bit then started hunting Injectors are noisy as though...tic tic tic tic tic tic tic tic tic tic...meh, just happy it works
  19. oh thats right low imp...silly me but would work out sooo much cheaper..
  20. just get GTR injectors, pretty sure they plug straight up..
  21. Not a bad way way to spend ten grand.
  22. Hmmm.. dyno day or put my car together...decisions decisions hungover and cant f**kd doin either really.. Found this morning, is cool..thought I'd share
  23. yeah thats another idea.. But why couldnt you boost it with a log?? stock mani does alright with 20psi..sometimes more
  24. yeah, I know they make those fancy manifolds tuned lenght cause it helps with spool up times etc.. But I have been wondering lately if log style made to roughly the same dimensions as the stock manifold but with larger ports/runners . If it would actually flow better than the stock cast item ..You,d think it would have to flow as well at least.. you could mount the turbo up on a bit of an angle and have the gate path flow out underneath it.. here this will get ya started.. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/RB25-TURBO-EXHAUST-HEAD-FLANGE-NISSAN-/280816991408?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4161ff3cb0
  25. could always just make up a log style manifold, would be piss easy and i dont see why it would work, then you could maybe hide the gate underneath it somehow..
