  1. if its still making power then I'd assume its something on the exhaust side.. Somethings split, welds or gaskets maybe, or a fracture in turbine housing
  2. yeah sorry what grumpy guts said is kind of what I meant. the restrictor is built into the screw in 12mm fitting not the turbo. see Zeb I told you I was no good at acting intelligent.... i just do stuff
  3. yeah its a bolt on..
  4. ^^^what manifold/gate setup u use? Dont blame you its a good vid, having to keep corner speed up is a good thing isnt it, keeps you on your feet so to speak Its like watching one of Russmans old vids before he went crazy did you forget to bolt your seat down?..
  5. yes wolverine his stagea dumps are a work of art....... so is this kind of hard to get a pic of its insides, but i believe it should work a treat,
  6. Hey guys..sorry bros bday, been drinking and bowling.. If i can run ethanol i definately will..injectors are 650 sards form a JZ..see how they go..hopefully PULP results are decent enough anyway Scott has done an absolute ripper job of it, once again he has turned my warped dreams into reality I will also install a decat for tune so if there is any restriction it will only be my china cooler. Zeb..just measured and the oil feed is definately 12mm thread
  7. its not even funny...
  8. surprise surprise its a V8.. i wonder how many will open the site expecting to see a 2JZ...
  9. oh...I guess i should cancel my mail order russian bride then
  10. oh really? And where do i get a new rubber harmonica balancer from
  11. nah its an s13 alright..its the optional long nose version though, also came with ABS
  12. heres a stupid question..How does a harmonic balancer get worn?
  13. dunno but looks like a well built car..
  14. I do see what you mean, but my theory wasnt aimed at prevention. It is aimed at catching the real dumbasses doing stupid dangerous shit I see on the road everyday, instead of pointlessly criminalizing everybody for harmless misdemeanors. It is these tactics that haves people accusing them of revenue raising..while they do make an easy dollar off everybody, do they really get the fools off the road, isn't that the real problem.
  15. was talking to a guy yesterday had his Soarer written off because someone hit him, was just some side damage really nothing to bad..so they paid him out nearly 8k but didnt VIV the car, so he patched it up and is still driving it around... not sure how he would go if he tried to sell it though..
  16. while looking at that I found this
  17. SO U FIGURE OUT WHERE YOUR GOING YET?
  18. yeah one already done will have half the bits you will want already on it.. So even if you do have to rebuild it at least it had lots of good parts already.. I now have a pile of stock parts in he shed that are good for nothing and a 20+k bill, I have seen cars with as much or more power selling for half that..I would probably be lucky to sell it for 10k and even then it has to clear a RWC somehow somehwere See the big problem can be getting them transferred into your name if the car has alot of modifications..But if you know the right people and have access to borrowed parts for a RWC you can get around this, meaning you could buy something even cheaper because the previous owner couldn't bother to clear a defect or RWC..
  19. wow thread finally got a little interesting, you guys like to think big.. I like it But i will never be able to afford it so.. Something i have often wondered is, with all the front wheel drive cars around these days. Would these drivlines make good transplants into mid-engine or rear engine sports cars, like the Ariel atom for instance..what if there were a chassis you could buy that was setup so you could put almost any front wheel driveline into the back of it to make a budget toy or trackcar.. Kind of like you can buy a replica clubman or cobra kit car and basically build it up from spares from the wreckers. Or those buggys you put motorbike engines into.. Imagine throwing something like an XR5 driveline into a lightweight rear engine chassis it would have to be quik.. Would it work or am i missing something here.. also while i think about it,I have always had a soft spot for the old Cobra and if I ever wrote my skylines shell off I was thinking it would be a great drivleine to drop in a cobra kit car. i know my old boss built one up for under 30k with a 400hp 302..there is plenty of room in the cobra nose so an RB should fit, it would weigh under a tonne and with 300+kw at the rears would be a hoot to drive around in
  20. anyone who has tried speeding down a winding road that they dont know , will know how dangerous it can be to keep looking at your speedo Problem is as stated, people will slow down for a camera then drive like a lunatic to the next one, so the cameras really arent doing alot of good..i really think Undercover or unmarked police cars are a better idea. Have them in traffic just cruising and wait for the idiots that stand out from the pack, not the guy safely doing 10kms over the limit but the idiots, who floor it in traffic or are swerving around jumping 3 lanes of traffic, or on their phone swerving or are braking for no reason on a busy freeway or tailgaters etc etc you get the idea?.. We have all been cruising along abiding to the laws and there is always some fool that sticks out from the pack and gets away with it while you get a fine for doing 5kms over when there is no-one near you for miles..How is that unsafe?? The TV ads tell us if someone steps on the road and you are going 5kms too fast they get run over and it is your fault but really, the Way i see it if someone steps on the road in front of a moving vehicle, it is there fault for walking in front of that moving vehicle not the driver for going a few KMs over.. i drive around all day and I could pull so many people up everyday that I'm sure I could easily reach a quota..Now the cost of this, well my car uses a tank of fuel every 2 days in Melbourne traffic 9hrs a day..thats about 40$ in fuel a day possible less in a more economical car,to have it running and a days wage for the driver..theres a person sitting on their butt in a camera car all day doing nothing..there is people installing and maintaining cameras all the time..get them on the road.. No, cameras are nothing but a copout for people that dont want to do any ACTUAL work..its all too easy to get a camera to do the work take the blame and make the money. Then again most of us are guilty of bludging at work arent we..Especially those with government jobs.. Now I do however believe red light cameras are a good idea, without them people are just stupid..Which people?? Well anyone that accelerates when they see a orange light is an idiot..if you cant get through at the speed you are currently doing you brake simple as that..people are always pushing the limits at red lights and it is very dangerous. Anyway on another note,I really do think mobile phones are a bigger concern than speeding now anyway, driving around melbourne all day everyday I can tell you that i reckon 1 in 5 is on their phone almost constantly and yes I am guilty, but, There is a time and place for everything..I dont think there is anything wrong with talking on your phone. I do it alot and find it can actually be quite relaxing and takes your mind off the stress of traffic whilst also keeping you alert and awake, it makes tiresome trips go by quicker. and really it is no different from talking to a friend sitting next to you in the car. Also, (this may be pushing it) but browsing the net while stuck at traffic lights is also very relaxing.. but... using your phone, dialling numbers texting etc whilst driving is evil and I see people swerving all over the place all the time because of it....problem is how do you ban one and not the other? Anyway that my rant for the night, I have had a few beers so it probably wont make sense in the morning
  21. i did mine, a few times actually.. it wouldnt fit in my oven and i wouldnt recomend it anyway what i did was buy a 20$ heat gun form bunnings..the you just keep running it all around the seal for 10 minutes or so with out getting to close to melt the light of course..just keep it moving and get all the silicon very warm.. Then when its all warm, concentrate on one end, the inside end (where the grill is) is best, warm it real hot then just hold the light between your feet and pry that end apart .do not try to pry the whole lot at once just do the end When you have opened one end work your way around heating a section and pulling it apart..should take 3 or 4 turns and the whole cover will be off. it really isnt too hard, but it takes patience, dont try force it apart, if the silicon is hot enough it will pry apart without too much effort..once the seal is cracked its easy Too put it back together just reheat the silicon and stick it back together you don't really need to put new silicon in.. you can also use the heatgun to dry the condensation, but dont get too close..i made that mistake once and your light goes from fine too f**ked in about 3 second.. ..im glad I read this thread cause its done it again so maybe its that little rubber hose causing my problems..
  22. it will work fine.. why are you hacksawiin covers Dave??
