its the tie rod end thats rooted..shop said I had a stuffed ball joint but didnt tell me which one....ball joints look fine..Im just not sure if this is the joint he was telling me about or not..im pretty sure this would make it hard to align right So there is no benefit getting the longer tie rod ends..like these for eg.. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Bump-Adjust-Tie-Rod-End-Nissan-Skyline-R32-R33-R34-S14-/220864654021?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item336c8f2ac5 I BTW seeing as your the only one who ever reads my suspension posts, i changed the rear LCA. found a little utube clip showed me how to pop the ball joint with a socket extenion and a hammer, worked a treat.was too easy thanks for the advice..

so had the car in to get realigned the other day, was told they couldnt properly align the front end because a ball joint was stuffed.. said no worries i will replace it and bring it back..but they failed to tell me which one... So im looking around under there today and all i could find was this all the others looked fine Is it the culprit??? can i simply replace the boot maybe?? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Silvia-s13-r31-skyline-datsun-trx-Ball-Joint-Tie-Rod-Boots-STRONGEST-MADE-/290615408064?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43aa0735c0 Also can anyone recommend new ones for me that arent too costly, car is fairly low with 3.5 camber on the front, does suffer from bump steer I think ...figured i Might some lock spacers in there as well while im at it..

anyone know??

finally decided to do this today and i must say Im not a fan of this setup at the front, the way it sticks out from the caliper. I'm tempted to get an angled fitting to fix it ..would of been much better utilizing the factory line to the caliper with another female adapter at the bracket..but oh well.. Also did you tie it up at the back at all, i was thinking a little bracket to hold it up to that bolt where the original bolted up..shouldnt be too hard all in all went well, I didnt have any wd40 left so i took a chance and just gave them all a love tap with the hammer and was all set to brag about not rounding any until the very last one got the better of me..1 out of 8 isnt bad i guess..had to get the vice grips on it and it let go with a snap, it was stuck good...still didnt round it though so it will go back together fine.. Anyway, i trust nobody has encountered any problems with theres yet.. Phil

yeah put xp on plugged datalogit in, plugged into the car and it all works fine Now i just have to figure out how to use it, I have no clue but car is already tuned and i can see its reading values and what not... funny old laptop, graphics was shot and screen was all multicoulored..so I uninstalled w7 and installed xp and it works fine now...I guess 7 was just too graphics intensive..either that or it will crap out again soon..lol -

hey guys which windows is best for datalogit, XP or earlier versions..?? just reformatting an old craptop, the graphics is shot but it will only be used for the datalogit so should do the job.. Do I need to add the sprinkles or is that optional -
haha, yeah i know I'm just trying to remember where else i have seen it..someone else uses them

I don't give a flying fungooloo about all the "variables" ,it is still good to see times not just printouts is all I'm saying.. Lots of things vary..you know yourself Harey, your car isnt pulling as much power with the same turbo as Tao, but it is still interesting to see your results none the less..And it would be even more interesting if you had a 1/4 mile time slip to go with each of those turbos you have tried.... Personally i just think it is more interesting to see how it performs on a track than any paper printout..

there is one in the last performance Imports mag..making 280kws..

+1.. With all that happened, it would seem poor old Pat doesn't have alot else to live for atm and plenty of men have killed themselves for less Anything is better than that, so if it keeps you smiling, I say mod away buddy... -
Ok reading my post back to myself , to call it boring was wrong and a misrepresentation of your work as this is obviously one of the most interesting tech threads here so I apologize for that.. But are you guys trying to tell me it wouldnt be interesting if once a month he took the car down for a couple of quik runs..Because I was always under the impression that power on a dyno isnt always the best representation of how fast a car can be on the road..sure there are variables but if the car was driven, maybe with some incar footage even, by the same person AKA ' The Stig ' in the same manor the only real variable would be the weather.. anyway I just think it would be cool to see
-
I actually think it would flow fine, the entry of the turbo is angled anyway, on the graph you could see it held boost perfectly, other turbos with this setup hold fine as well.. so there is no benefit changing it

^^ who invited this know it all.. SECURITY!!! ED* Pat that was meant for the guy above u obviously you posted before i did.... ED2** not alvin the other guy..lol i should read the next [page for i post And JFR..i never turn my boost down either, actually I have a 18psi gate and no controller..lol i dont have 300kw though i was just saying it is possible if you are that way inclined.. -
I just wish all these turbos would do a run down the 1/4 mile before being pulled out again.. All these paper only results but no times is getting tedious and boring...
