  1. yes..mine run nicely on 11.. pod will make a little more power but its barely noticeable..does sound cool though
  2. 10 is good.. A pod will make more induction noise but i wouldn't bother with a pod its pointless, just make sure its got a good clean panel filter.
  3. I know...maybe hes saving up for one..lol yeah agreed, would've a smaller faster OS drive.. But you all missed the main thing wrong with it ITS PINK!! must be a shirtlifter..
  4. actually doin the research for a relo that seems to have golf hype syndrome..personally I wouldnt even consider it as I dont like low end euro trash at all.. When we bought our honda accord a friend bought an A6 aud... Both 04 models both v6 both fully optioned with leather sunroof tint etc...the audi did look a bit slicker with its 18 inch wheels but didnt necessaarily handle any better.maybe at autobahn speeds but Ive had the honda on long drives happily at 120 to 150 and its still smooth as silk .audi did have a very smooth almost seamless 7 speed auto but it didnt have Vteck yo' so it wasnt any faster. The ride quality wasnt any better..audi did have a quieter cabin I beleive..but all in all he paid 40k when we paid 20k and I really didnt see the extra worth and his servicing is twice as expensive..maybe euro quality is slightly better but mostly its just bragging rights your paying for.. 160,000kms on the accord now and other than tired shocks and the front discs needing machining which is common with all auto cas, I cant fault it..did have a door lock jam up but only cost me 40$ to fix
  5. euros are definately overpriced and so are bought by people with disposable income who are happy to buy disposable cars..the more expensive euros however are better quality machines because people that spend quarter of a mil on a car expect it to last.... Most jap branded cars I find are good for 250kms before they start to fall apart..
  6. cheers sheepus thats interesting..I have noticed there is a lot of reasonably priced mods for the mazda as a well..all mazdas for that matter I soon realised that an MPS is not the only otption, then there is the sport and luxury MPS and they are pirced accordinly..im not sure yet if the differences are just cosmetic or not..
  7. well to be fair, it has the fuel economy of a diesel golf. .
  8. well googling #49378 and i came up with 10.5cm turbine...sound right #49178 seem to be the smaller housings
  9. i rememebr when they come out i was in high school and we all thought they were futuristic looking...but most people that bought one just bought it for a laugh..
  10. how dare you...its a classic..it s the bubble yeah?
  11. FYP..geez 3 times and you still didnt get it right..
  12. yeah battery has mimmicked your setup part for part..but you are both running a t67 im not..I originally told scott to get the 44 as well now he want let me change my mind..lol Im not running EBC so correct gate choice is more critical..but im probably over thinking it.. dont matter I will just get the MVR cause it comes with a spring pack and if its right , well I was right all along. But if its wrong I will just blame Scott... ed...Simon are you using the water cooling on the gate, if so which pipe did you run it off? What spring and EBC u use.. Would love to know how well it holds boost without EBC..
  13. yeah definately leaniing toward focus now. i have found better examples cheaper than the mazda..it looks more aggresive and has a bigger engiine
  14. ed..what so u did change all that in 3 hours or just a belt?
  15. Id really prefer to keep it low mount but do you think putting it on a stock manifold with a gate off the housing is going to restrict it too much..? if I do this will change my gate to either TS comp 40mm or Tial MVR 44mm..which you think?
  16. Lol...I've never changed one and I know this...it would still easily take me a day though.. Plus if your mechanic is nice enough to only charge you trade price for parts, some are but many arent, Id say he is quite easily making a couple hundred off this..still a pretty good deal ..many say you should change your waterpump as well but if your radiator fluid is in good nick IE still bright green and not full of rust scale and your water system is clean I wouldnt worry to much about it..maybe Just throw a bottle of radiator flush in before you drive it to the mechanic and drive slowly, or get him to do it...
  17. your a disgrace....time for some driving lessons charles..
  18. marc with 400hp I'd be ashamed if i didnt beat him..
  19. ldts not forget adaptronic is MAP..with aussie support Rolls I just used the gates flameproof hose, its blue but i think you can get it in black..just dont run it between the manifold and housing where the standard pipe goes it will fry anything... Loop it away from the heat..I hung a little bracket off the block to hold it in place..or if you get a braided length to the turbo with a fitting you can join the hose too so if you want to remove it just undo at that fititng..
  20. I dont know why you bother ..i just run a hose all the way around to the manifold. You can even have a joiner half way for easy removal later on..
  21. astra is missing 2 doors though..
  22. yeah I agree the xr5 sounds nuts, had one run my line. i had the nose on him but only just through first and second ,we crested a hill so I decided to behave but reckon I would of smashed him in third..
  23. what does the golf have over the MPS? I know the mazda has an awesome sound system, and goes damn quick..is the gti any faster? Ahh forgot about the volvo motor too..i thought the focus and mazda shared the engine, that would explain why the focus is dearer..I beleive the mazda is easy to mod too..not sure about the others.. i beleive mazda have excelled in the last 10 years with affordable allrounders that never give any drama
  24. 20k ish to spend, reliability is big factor, around 100,000km.. Which would you buy and why?
  25. thats a bargain on the adaptronic....couple that with new SS turbos, throw in some highflow injectors and a cooler and you have a responsive 250kw+ for around 3k in a stock looking car damn Tao you make me want to change my whole setup again, why didnt you offer this last year
