  1. yup doesn't sound like anything to do with tuner...
  2. to each their own is exactly right Disco, we all drive different roads so it only makes sense we all drive different cars to suit our style and the roads we drive. There is no "one size fits all" car and personally I like to have different cars for different purposes..my skyline for fun my accord for luxury and my ute for work..So looking at that f I was to buy a one size fits all car ,an SS ute or wagon would probably be my best choice
  3. commodres corner ok so dont give me your staright line mumbo jumbo... for eg..mate had a well worked crx, was a quick little car , vs his mate in his old mans bog stock Vx commy..in a backstreet race who do you think come out on top? Neither.. All this talk is exactly that talk...Im not one to condone street racing but I have been around enough to tell you, I dont care what you drive, a testosterone fuelled bloke in a stock 6 cylinder auto commodore in good condition can be a formidable opponent on the streets unfortunately he can also be a bellend...
  4. screw haonaldo I deleted that.... but anyway talking within the speed limits is rubbish cause a bog stock v6 commodore auto will keep up with an EVO "within the speed limits" the small amount that the EVO will outperform it really doesnt justify the expense...
  5. pointless post deleted
  6. lol..so technically people are being fined and punished for something that doesnt really legally exsist
  7. More than you can afford pal!!
  8. dont hear much about hondas big little victories these days though, most of their cars are too heavy now and everyone else is running turbos in bigger badder cars.. Im starting to wonder, is there a whole new scene out there I havent caught up with yet...or is the track day scene dying off somewhat with a new generation more concerned with luxuries and electronic gizmos than outright performance..I mean if I want a car to perform fisrt thing I do is rip out the airconditioning knowing i'm also helping the planet in the process... Which brings up another point, is it the threat we are destroying the planet curbing peoples enthusiasm towards the scene.. i see alot of mazda 3s kicking around and they look somewhat sporting but I dont really hear of any track weapons based on them, same goes for the MPS..although hondas new CRZ looks like it could be interesting. Maybe all the cool cars are coming out of europe now but I havent paid enough attention to know what they are. i dont know, but do you ever feel like theres a party somewhere and you werent invited,
  9. yeah that is the issue, what about an mx5 then....
  10. man this thread has more twists and turns than Nurburg . I wonder if OP is even reading it anymore ? But I think the big question arising here is power on a budget vs performance on a budget cause they are 2 difeerent ball games really..While an LS as an engine will make good solid power effortlessly everywhere fairly cheaply, making a car that can harness the power is costly in terms of tyre wear brakes etc etc.To the point that it will be quite easily outperformed on track by something as little as a honda that was built for half the price and will last twice as long.. Actually for a budget NA performerance engine something of the vtec variety would probably be my choice..the Lotus with the K20a look like so much fun..
  11. haha...you have a point there..
  12. it can only get in what your throttle body lets in though cant it..as long as you havent uped the boost it shouldnt change..
  13. how could it affect emissions..?
  14. there is no denying the RB is good, but its no better than an LS.. And yeah neat factory look or "Sleeper" fitment is what im into.. there is no way you could drive that RB Rx7 on the street for long without getting pinged ..
  15. you know what is really stupid.. Adding an aftermarket plenum and nothing else would have zero affect on emmissions and would actually make the car slower yet some how its deemed bad enough to consider it defectable.. f**kin victoria
  16. should of put the LS1 in the 33 ya goose
  17. exactly just look at it..bits hanging off it and out of it everywhere, is a mess the V8 fitment is very neat and civilized in comparison..both cars would be just as mental to drive.. But while The v8 looks big, mean, fast and civiized the 26 lookslike a scrappy kid ready to throw a tantrum... The only thing special about the RB26 is the car it was built for, without the GTR its just another motor
  18. lithium wins ....
  19. but if you gave me the 3 engines to choose fromI would take the LS its just so versatile
  20. i must admit if you gave me a 2000 model Rx7,GTR or Monaro to choose from I would take the RX7
  21. nah the 25 is alright for now... also Im not sure my tired old 33 chassis could handle the awesomeness
  22. because there is no real reason to see past the pushrod cause it has been proven time and time agian it works.. When compared to some of the new tech engines with quad cams and all the other shit, it doesnt make more power only gains in efficiency.. Plus for little efficency you can you have a whole lot of extra parts that can go wrong a alot of extra weight and space needed..to compensate they need to use expensive materials to save weight none of which is cost effecient.. If I want a cam change in a LS engine i only need to change one not 4.. Put simply the LS has had more R & D than any other engine on the planet and it still works and gives everything else a run for its money, add to this it is cheap, lightweight, sounds brilliant on song, can be built in your garden shed and fits into just about any engine bay and it is a deadset winner all round.. Having a turbo doesnt make you a rocket scientest, just makes you a guy that needs FI to compensate for his lack of engine and quite frankly I would swap my old RB25 for an LS anyday
  23. I do agree somewhat I think its the mechanics that are unreliable more than the motor itself, my friend had his rebuilt twice before sending it to a different workshop who got it right, 20k later and lilcrash might want to get some new scales, cause they weigh between 1200 to 1300kg.. How many subwoofers does he have in it
  24. did not
  25. so why dont you have one
