this is totally irrelevant but my bt50 hits 16psi..
everybody trying to tell me, "nah man its a diesel it would be 5psi tops.." they still dont wanna believe me..
560hp doesnt sound like ass to me Paul. Maybe it will only make power from 4000rpm to 5500rpm but if you were going to drag race with a high stall or something it could be all you need.
I remmebr a bombed out old celica with some dodge setup like this that ran 10s on some big old slicks. thing is it will move large volumes of air when the foot is flat to the floor and that might be all that matters to this bloke.
I also get a bit annoyed with the small mindness in this forum sometimes, there is a million other ways to build a car and as good as a well built and planned skyline can be it is expensive. Strappin a big ass truck turbo on an old bomb can get you a really fun car for little outlay. Not only that but building it will teach you far more valuable skills than buying parts from a catalogue and strapping to a car that already performs anyway..
from memory this thing had a huge turbo of a caterpillar or something and it sure looks like a lot of fun to me..
More power to ya Griffin
I got a guy happy to fab up a dump,
thinking maybe work around a 3:5 inch bellmouth design then will probably just try run a 3:5 pipe to my cat.
i was going to run a flexi joint in between dump and front is this a good/bad idea?
Its a bit f stuffind around I know but im also interested to see how it goes, I can always change compressor if I get bored agin later .I was keen to stick a gtx comp in front of it but not getting much support there.
yeah I really like mine too, it may not be the best out there but it does go hard @ 235kw but i feel its choking which is why i originally considered the AVO housing as well when this HKS popped up a bit cheaper and should be better.
i beleive the backpressure caused by the rear housing is possibly hindering its spooling somewhat so dont think i will get any extra lag, It could be detrimental to its longevity at high boost levels. Plus i wouldnt mind some extra killerwasps wther or not this will work I can only try
turbo was fitted long ago disco with high temp coolant hose that hasnt failed me. I think finding out if its a cropped turbo or not is the big problem here so i know wether or not this new housing will fit, but i may just have to pull the turbo out and measure it up to cover all doubts.
wow cool...something you dont see everyday..
Says it sits in front of the ac ondensor Andrew..so you would keep your fan and all.I think it mounts to the bonnet latch support bar.Obviously one pipes goes thru the the original holes under the airbox, Im not quite sure where the top pipe goes thru though..
looks awesome, wish I needed a cooler..
so its not excatly a 3037
but its not exactly a 3076
and its not exactly a 3071,
its not exactly a gcg and
its not exactly a garrett
Its not exaclty good but
its also not exactly bad
and to confuse things even more
its going to have a HKS housing
as well but its not exactly a HKS
Talk about multiple personalities
I saw this in the dyno thread its a very good result, but somehow it doesnt seem realitstic, I mean honestly,260kw on 15psi and stock injectors, cmon somethings not right.
The curve is nice though and If 260kw is right its a brilliant result
a hatchback swift I wouldnt have thought so, but there is something about that sedan that just says homo
red corona looks ok and comes with a free fridge and tent..BONUS!!
some of the kms on these cars really is testament to their build quality, most of them are over 300,000kms the fact they are stull running is a miracle..
I see they are cheap..
When i was looking for injectors i was told to get the 480 s15 ones but i couldnt find any for less than 400 a set so when i found 650s for the same price figured may as well go bigger. stupid sidefeeds
But yeah if you can get them for 150 you have nothing to lose and plenty to save
yeah its a hard one to find any info on..discos thread said it was a to4s or something
The specs i listed in my original post were the ones i was given with the turbo, but looks like he got it wrong as well. all im really concerend about now is will the housing of the the hks fit, I may just have to try it and see i guess. I really dont expect it to make 300kw or anything crazy, 260 with same response as i have now would be nice though
they would be enough, but could it be more beneficial to get bigger ones to have some headroom for future upgrades or E85 fuels etc..I mean its better to have under worked rather than overworked injector isnt it ?. Plus I beleive the siemens have been getting a good rap and are fairly well priced to.
if anyone can shed anymore light on garret core number 70177-5015 it would be much appreciated.
Its looking agian like it is 60mm turbine after all, if I could find out without having to pull the turbo off would be great as their seems to very little info on it
thats exactly right it only just dawned on me that the 3037 is a larger turbine, my mistake.
On another note I wonder will the 3037 hks housing fit on a gtx3071,? I i know turbine and trim are the same but cant find exducer size it would need to be 55 i think or is this not important?..if it did fit would it work well or be restictive?,
