R33 Gtst Oe Gearbox Oil Viscosity
ARTZ replied to Just_Rb's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
well looking at the books today as i needed oil. castrol recomends 2.8ltr and yes penrite 2ltr very damn confusing, also penrite recomend a 90 grade for the diff, whereas castrol recomend multigrade75/90 or thereabouts.. Too much headache can spoil the fun, so i got castrol vmx-80 for the box and penrite 90 for the diff cause the books recomend it and the prices were right, also got tube of g70 for the hell of it..About 100$ all up.. Mechanic is actually gunna fill it for me cause i cant be bothered, so ill tell you how much he puts in tomorrow k.... PS seen a guy fill his engine oil up to the top once, took about 5-6 bottles ran like shit and blew more smoke than cheech n chong...Silly bugger... -

Toyo R888 Tyres, Help Needed Plz
ARTZ replied to Turbz RB-25's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I swear so many of your problems could be solved with a cheap daily runaround.. A race engine doing 20kms a day it just aint right...you have built a car thats almost trackworthy take it to the track where it belongs and you wont have to worry about things like camber wear and excessive fuel consumption...Well you will but it will be justified Motors that are built to go as hard as yours dont like to be putted around on daily commutes, actually they really hate it. Over time they clog up and just dont run right What they do like however is to be warmed up and driven hard , stretch their legs and breath Do us all a favour man buy a barina for work take your real car to the track and treat it like a whore..Get it on cam then youtube that shit....PLEASE!!! Maybe Its time to take it to the next level.. Peace out EDIT*.was old thread searching laat night and found threads from a few years ago ,U had just started modding your car...Bug bit you pretty hard hey .. -

Shit sorry dude i didnt notice, I know you've had it for a while but didnt realize it was arthur dunger..I will revert to my old avatar again... FWDs can be good sometimes if you accidently throw it into a slide, it is easy to accelerate out of it, cause the car will pull forward in the direction you choose unlike a RWD that will slide out harder when you accelerate..4WD you get the best of both worlds..But there lack of slidability kinda kills the thrill..
-
You are not alone my friend,, Except i wouldnt call what i did accelerating, i just flooded it and thought id hold on, worked for a little while was like yeeeeehaaaa!!!..till i run out of bitumen and found grass then it was like Wooooaahhhh!!!,Luckily it bit in before the guard rail but left me with a nice little scuff mark so i would never forget to treat her with restecp or she will bite....(Or find wider bits of road )

Rb30det Legally Allowed In A R33 In Vic?
ARTZ replied to kwickr33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
HAha yeah i dont even know where my engine number is and I've pulled it half to bits, so doubt coppers gunna notice, just register it with original engine numbers and then i guess play dumb if you get caught.. I traded in an old pathfinder years back and got a call a few months later asking me if i had changed the engine, I knew nothing and had only ever changed the head, but apparently it was a stolen motor from another state so Vicroads didnt pick up on it 'but when they went to sell it in another state it showed up..Some poor guy had bought it and it was impounded on him when he went to get a roadworthy in SA..Well that was there story, load of BS i reckon cause i seen the car a few months later in Dandenong Seriously how many people actually check their engine number, very few i bet ,hell alot of people dont even know how to open the bonnet..usually just go by the ID tag on the body..Unless your going over the pits whos gunna know... -

Got a better deal than me... It did stop fogging a little but not for long i wouldnt rely on it...Like i said we used it on the shower it didnt stop fogging really.. I usually use rainex or similar product on the windows, outside anyway..awesome stuff.. Cause the honda doesnt get the carport (its reserved for my skyline of course..) Plus we live near the coast i like to wax it good..Just give your car a good proper polish with good quality polish..then use a light coat of FW1 once a month or so to top it up..That way your only waxing over the top of the good wax so i dont see how it could afffect your clear coat really.. But yeah dont wash your whole car with it..the rag gets dirty very quickly and then you are just rubbing dirt back into it, unless you use heaps of rags..But if its well waxed a quick hose will get the dirt off easily, works great for stopping brake dust too.. I use it on all the door/window rubbers as well and they havent dried out or anything..In fact there nice n shiny

I'll give ya ten bucks to wash my car... That was a joke BTW...

Silvia S13 Question About Launching (0-100 Test Automatic)
ARTZ replied to La Bomba's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yeah this is your only hope, i used to this in my 4ltr cortina it would fry the little 13inch rims for 100meters.. But that was a 4ltr. With a 2ltr and 15inch rims you aint got much hope kid. -
yeah i got some, i talked hom down got 4 cans for 100$, just offer them 2 for 50$ they'll do it..Whatever you do dont pay 40$ for a can...Plus you get a 30$ water saver rebate, so 4 cans for 70$and it will last u ages Ive been using it for well over a year without a problem,.My skyline has new paint and the missus has a new accord with metallic paint, i wash everything with it windows ,wheels, lights, chrome I usually give the car a quik hose at the carwash 1$ to remove lumpy dirt...Then use the FW1 with a microcloth to handwash it, good thing is it gets waxed at the same time , One can lasted me easily 6 months or more on 2 cars...Id wash them about once a month or so ,so its pretty good value,i still have over 2 cans left . Though i still give a proper carnuba wax once a year or so.. Dont spray it on too thick and wax on wax off with seperate rags and its great stuff for regular washing..have even used it to wash the shower screens amongst other stuff.. So yeah i would recommend it ,but not at 40$ a can And i wouldnt wash a dirty car just with that, cause your basically rubbing the dirt of which is what will eat at the clear i reckon not the product itself. Like with most new products people that dont know how to use them properly stuff things up then blame the product itself, Thats my theory anyway, if the clear coat falls of my car I'll eat my words..But our honda isnt garaged,I havent washed it for at least 2 months or more and right now its sitting out in the rain beading like a champion

Yeah definately fixable, as long as they still sell matching fabric, i reckon they would there not too old. If not may have to consider retrimming both seats in new fabric too match. But im pretty sure recaro or someone would stock it... I havent got a sewing machine, but i could take the cover off and get it done fix the holes...And refit it...if want to save few bucks

90S commys do that alot too, Cheap frames plus the the way people sit, specially larger framed peeps tend to lean away from the window more. You know with the left arm on the console and right arm at 12 oclock with the game face on. All the mechanisms are on the outside too which adds some strengh to that side.. you can bend it back like Tez said but doubt it would last long as metal has stretched..Depends whos gunna be sittin in it could pull it apart and strenghen the frame, wouldnt be too hard to just weld a support up that side EDIT.. ok well if its busted yeah, pull the cover off and weld it up, easy as..
