  1. Look the point is with a bit of homework and mechanical knowhow there is no need to through a chequebook at a car like a skyline good results can be had for little outlay as geraus said, despite the it sounded i actually was in agreement with him.. But i am also curious as to what time that setup would get him on the track, be it drag or lap.. Ive seen 250kw skylines only pull mid 13s which is what a new WRX will do..although the skyline can be built for half the price if you dont throw a chequebook at it...Use the chequebook and your likely to spend as much as a new WRX
  2. Anyone remember when Hughsey and Kate did this on their morning show with his old HQ Wonder what happened to that?
  3. hey guys its a trap, check it out, there's an undercover cop in their workshop
  4. Hahaha..........Thats the spirit
  5. 250kw is all well and good but meaningless compared to what times it can pull... Its no good saying you have 250kws if you get beaten by a standard rexy is it... And Harey 80k was just a number I plucked outta my skull cause a guy showed my 80k worth of receipts for a GTST oneday and i was like is that it Nothing beats building a car yourself, cause your more likely to do a proper job as opposed to someone just trying to get you in and out so they can do the next job...There is plenty of good workshops out there but money cant buy you love...
  6. Blackmans motor trimmers, cochranes road mooabin Or Gary Blackman trimming in richmond or David Blackman trimming in mornington Yes they are all brothers and can trim absolutely anything.. Theres also Custom trim in mordialloc does some good work.. That said any auto upholstery place can do it..just depends if they can get the material to match it...Whats wrong with it i worked there for a few years so can do most stuff..??
  7. haha...me too..got busted by the wife last night that was embarassing....
  8. ^^^ Yeah alot of the time they just write a heap of stuff down so it looks to vicroads like the roadworthier did a thorough job, whether or not you fixed it properly is irrelevant to the pen pusher Its like if you have a bald spare your car is unroadworthy, but if you have no spare its fine....
  9. Right on, It gunna cost 10-15k just for supporting mods, so if it does blow 2k for another engine is poo change.. turbo 2000+ injectors 1000+ top mount manifold 1500+ cooler 1000+ exhaust 1000+ inlet plenum 1000+ coilpacks 500+ Ecu+ tuning 3000+ Clutch 1000+ other assoretd bits n pieces that you never factor in to your original budget 2000+ Punching a hole through your block and having oil and coolant spew out all over the road in spectacular fashion while showing off in front of your mates.... PRICELESS
  10. yeah i want a set too..
  11. Yeah i thought it would handle 1000 too till myt guages exploded and I burst into flames oneday for no apparent reason,.maybe i had a nawz leak...This is why i stress the use of a quality flame suit... If 450 can be acheived safely then its safe to say you could no doubt squeeze 500 out of it.. But like i said before how long do you want it to last..If you got the money just do it...
  12. If by internals you mean the interior im pretty sure your dash and seats are good for 800hp however after that they tend to spontaniously combust at random.. And you will also need to change your guages, its a good idea to put them on the bonnet as well And you will most definately need racing harnesses that dont clash with your flame suit...
  13. is there a reason you want 500hp in particular, and how long do you want it to last
  14. Hope you got your flame suit ready
  15. I know a guy with a 70s porsche with 700,000kms on it...original engine True, but ive seen people do it No doubt, but will your car pass a pit test?? My point is 80k will get you plenty of cars like an evo or better, that are ready to go...And just as fast as alot of these money pit skylines
  16. I got the bilsteins, they are not adjustable, and have the bilstein springs i think (blue ones) they are awesome if you hold your line right through the apex they hold beautifully, if your turn in too sharp they can dip , giving the impression they are too soft but really you just haven't taken the corner properly.. They are really comfy and perfect for speed humps too, people are constantly amazed at the speed i approach them, its not super low,but it is low...Scrapes leaving my driveway...And thats with the not low S1 bumper So for everyday, id give them the If you can afford them cause i absolutely love them....Really just depends if you want then adjustable...if you set a street car up right first time you want need adjustables anyway.
  17. They look perfect on my honda ..
  18. I think your attachments dont work dude...
  19. Yeah spend 80k on a gtst and then go shit, why didnt i just buy a new porsche...
  20. HAha, thats brings back memories, used to live up that way when i was a kid..I live in melbourne now but these people dont know what cold is, waking up with all our pipes frozen, ice hanging of everything and the dogs bucket of water frozen solid..Worse bit was cause the ice on the windscreen is so thick youd have to drive with the window open to see where your going, it was f**king freeeeeezin... But once the sun comes up and melts it the air is sooo fresh..I miss that...
  21. See I'd say put the turbo in first, you want be able to boost it yet, which kind of defeats the purpose. But at least then when you have your injectors and ecu the turbo is already done though...Thats how I did it anyway IMO Its no use putting the ecu in first cause you,d have to get it tuned, and then pay to get it tuned again after your turbo which is wasted $$$..But putting a turbo in is pretty straight forward if its just a hi-flo, and even at 7psi will still pull harder than you are at 12psi now...
  22. Yeah i noticed too, I drive past there most days and its been shut up for a while, and theres a pile a rubbish out the front look like someones been cleaning up..
  23. Agreed.. Personally i use a good carnuba wax, (california gold, not sure they sell it anymore) maybe once a year or so, but use a light coat of an easy spray wax (pressure can type not spray bottle) every couple of months or so when i wash it...water still beads and i havent washed it for 2-3months If you want serious protection get this.. http://www.goopguys.com.au/product_details.php?id=9 So serious you have to peel it off...
  24. Haha, thers one of those old combi utes that belongs to the guy at the VW shop, It often zooms past mein the morning on the way to work, i can take the roundabout pretty hard but i cant keep him, Dunno what hes running in it, but i know its fast..I have seen them with porsche motors too.. Do combis have the box at the front or rear of the engine.. Cause basically what i was thinking is if you took the whole wrx driveline and turned it around and stuck the VW on top....but all the gearing would be backwards, so im a bit confused as to how id make it all work...
  25. I think they have a bad habit of leaking from the back of the cam covers too...
