Petition Against Speed Camera's
ARTZ replied to yellow300zx's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I copped a red light fine a while back, i was following a car as the light turned orange, i was in a small truck which doesnt pull up real quick, and we had plenty of time anyway .. This noodle head in front hits the skids in the middle of the intersection for some unknown reason (i think he may have thought it was a 60 zone when it was 80 and he thought hed get speed fine), then he goes again, little truck doesnt take off that fast and i get done for red light... I told them what happened and Attempted to contest it but was denied... On a brighter note... name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>&"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350" /> -
When its cold isnt that an oil related issue, just means oil is too thick at start-up, and isnt lubing parts of the valvetrain properly which is why it goes away once warm.., This is why i will get this problem more in winter than in summer, which is why it pays to use a lighter weight oil in winter. This is what Ive always thought anyway, cause my work ute always ticks more on winter mornings, but goes away after a few minutes..And if i use a !0-40 instead of the usual 20-50 it does it even less.. This injector thing is news to me...but im listening...

Ever wanted the engine of one car in the body of another...I know you have So the topic here is what 2 cars would really like to merge together if you you had all the tools and equipment at your disposal.. I have always wanted to merger these 2 I call it the VWRX !!! Somehow we put the Wrx motor in the back, should fit pretty easy, and plenty of room for another diff in the front, then we just change the gearbox ratios so it has 5 reverse speed s and one forward and wallah! Something like that anyway, so let your imaginations fly and if anyone is awesome at photoshop please do what i cant...

I have got a big dog you can have...unfortunately he likes to jump on cars as well, but at least it solves your cat problem...

Kingchrome really took the title from Sidchrome ey.. I remember back in the day Sidchrome was the stuff to get, now nobody seems to get them.. I found out somewhen that Stanley was owned or run by Sidchrome, All my socket sets ( 1/2, 3/4, 1/4) and a lot of my other tools are Stanley and I find them all great value... How do you cut intercooler piping, dmn near impossible to get straight with a knife?

2011 Wrx Sti Sets New Nurburgring Lap Record!
ARTZ replied to iplen's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Yeah this i understand, but i have found so often that WRX drivers are ex-nissan owners that complain about not getting traction etc, so ideally they wanted 1000hp, but when they figured out they couldnt get the power to the ground (or thats its really hard to drive) they traded for less power..This is the gayness.. RBNT man i thought i was slack 6000km in 3 years, but you win..At least your car will be appreciating but.If not now eventually..There will be a boom period like the GTHOs in 20-30 years, if you can wait that long you will cash in fo' shizz -
They will look mad, theres a hilux ute kicking around here with them..looks cool. They look good on almost anything. I'd be getting some for my car if i had the moolah!!!.. What they gunna set you back if you dont mind me askin...

and if the turbo is not stock?

Yeah its the new versions that do this, back when it was 1.8 or thereabouts it used to work fine with uploads at 1... I didnt mind seeding out till optus started charging for uploads, now i cant really afford to..And now utorrent is capping its a lose/ lose situation..
-
im like this too, hack away till you get it right, sometimes i leave and when i come back the missus has sorted it, which is even better..I dont care as long as it works.. Utorrent FTW, had hacked azurus a while back, used to fake seeding for faster uploads, but it was never really any faster than a well set up utorrent, its all in the fine tuning... But since i reinstalled Utorrent im having trouble surfing while it is downloading, keep getting problem loading page error, some sites work ok,but others such as SAU, dont like it running..

yeah they value my 93 gtst at 7900 to 10000 but when i asked racv they offered me market value, i think 6900 from memory and that was 2 years ago...AAMI dont even insure imports so i dont know..Cant wait to find out.. .
-
If they havent seen it how are they gunna know what wheels you had on it anyway. If they write it off with your wheels and stuff attached wouldnt they have to pay you out extra for them as well I wouldnt be too sure they will write it off, my crappy 2004 work ute had 300,000kms on it and was smashed up way harder than that, it looked worse than that barina does and they fixed the bloody thing, despite me pleading for them to write it off..Now i have an even older dodgier car on the road, i only wanted 8k, but because it was market valued at 15k they couldnt write it off...They could have given me an agreed value of say 8k ( which is almost what they spent fixing it) taken the wreck and sold it too recoup some of their money..I could have bought a newer safer ute, and thats another shitty old car off the road..But no,now it has 430,000kms on it ,pulls hard to the left and wobbles allover the road, but f**ked if im wasting money fixing it when it could get written off tomorrow and id get a new one.. Then again imports have low market values so maybe they will write it.....whats market value on a supra..8k maybe..if ya lucky...and with import parts harder to source for the repairer, could be an expensive fix..Dont be surprised if they offer you 6k for your car but..... Guess youll have to wait and see, but if the assesor wont pay extra for your wheels id be telling him your keeping them.. Ask MTRshenanigans on here hes an insurance person of sorts..

Win The Ultimate Summerats Experience
ARTZ replied to nolathanewayne's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Summernats is, always has been, and hopefully always will be the greatest car show in this country and one of the greatest in the world..It is Australias Holy mecca of everything that is automotive restoration and modification , there is nothing any of you can do to change this ,Many of these people were importing and modifying cars before you were even thought about and if you are trying to, or think your going to change this you are far from a true car enthusiast and should just f**k OFF... Your a Wanker Your his pathetic boyfriend As usual too politically correct for me to pass judgement on, but i highly doubt you would share the view of these tossers above.. -
i hear ya...mine were white but got a ding in the front wheel chipped a big chunk of paint..thought i could strip em myself. 3 tins of paint stripper and shitloads of buffing later...But i love em now... ....I tried 18s but it didnt look as low anymore so i stuck with the 17s ..

Choice Of Wheels - Need Help
ARTZ replied to StealthX's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yeah ive been looking at to many X5s and range rovers... 235/50/18s 245/40/20 Or you could just get one of these Better yet get 2 And a spare in the boot for good luck... Suddenly Im liking Xtrails a whole lot more .... -
Would appear you have seen this before then.. Alot of people have this problem, i thought it was just older systems but 4 years is newer than mine... So im guessing your onto something So would that mean its not flowing through the convertor before thermostat opens.. Any flow would stop it from freezing and Once engine is warm Id think even the radiant heat would be enough to stop it from freezing.. *goes out in freezing cold to see how gas system is hooked up*
