Should I Sell My Car Or Will I Regret It?
ARTZ replied to Turbz RB-25's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Funny thing is my car close to stock and has never had its ass kicked by a HSV And I beat a new HSV Maloo in my gfs honda cause he couldnt get traction..I was doing 100 before he started making ground (very quickly )... Moral...buy an accord....Vtec yo!!!!!!!! But seriously a WRX probably is a better daily. Id like one for the lady, we only got an accord cause the she wasnt old enough to have a turbo... EDIT maybe we are missing the real point here...that is your GF is driving a swift Shame on her for making you want something that is comfy and economical and practical...I hate to break it to you mate but maybe its not the car that needs to go.. -
Yeah,Rang those guys, its about 250+ for my single, so f**k that..too much for too little..at half the price i may of considered it..research is good in theory, but nothing beats trying it...And ive seen people do it with ok results, But not on skylines..
-
Cheers.. Depending on price ,I might give it a go for the fun of it..i cant see how it could hinder performance at all, seems like it would aid flow if anything even if only marginally more responsive. Measuring the stock TB front is 65mm rear is 60 so there is at least 5 mill to be had plus smoothing out the butterfly has got to let it flow better than original...Doesnt it? I have seen it done once before on a honda ,and it definately didnt make it any worse... Ill report back with my 50kw gains later... PS Man i did a search on this the other day and nothing came up so i started a thread...fuggin..

Not sure which Turbo/sump bracket you mean but as far as i can tell everything else is fine..just pulled it all off to replace cracked manifold studs thought id replace the whole line while it was apart The original line has been cut with the flame proof rubber hose put in place, the hose but gets dry and hot and eventually cracks the outer tubing near the turbo ex housing Was just wondering how hard it was to change, appears its very hard..Maybe i should try run the hose away from the turbo more so it doesnt get so hot..If you guys arent having problems it must be my setup, I'll drop by pirtek maybe see what hose they have
-
Ok so how the bejeezus do you replace the line that goes around the back of the motor..The hose just keeps cracking so want to fit braided but yeah, can i get that pipe out without taking the engine out?? Or is there another option?
-
Any tricks i should know about throttle body while i have it off the car, will cleaning it out make any difference..Anything i should lube up etc? Also where the plug plugs into it there is another socket but as far as i know nothing to plug into it, is this for an option i dont have maybe? Ive seen people bore out the cylinder too, only a few mill, is this worth the effort Thanx

Mate you again, didnt we have this problem 6months ago....LOL -
If the knobhead P-platers doing burnouts up and down my street every time it rains in there shitbox taxis are anything to go by, I dont want them having powerful cars with any sort of forced induction . I dont even think they deserve any more than 4 cylinders..That said Ive had many a good time in fast fours without turbos, there is really no need for young drivers to have anything more . especially when your average lancer/corolla will do 200kph standard. Then with some head work ,maybe some flat top pistons, more compression cams.these things can really boogie if you know how to drive. And insurance companies rarely pull your engine apart so would never know... The sooner young people realize there is much more to driving than how much power is under the hood the better, but when the front cover of every magazine screams 500AWKW on the front cover, what are kids going to think...Dont get me wrong i love these magazines, but they really should have a good think about their impression on the impressionables.. Maybe they could try glorifying budget racers more, instead of mechanical marvels with too much paint too big wheels and more power than u can really use...I for one would rather see tricks, howtos and feats of engineering than cars that are merely polished money pits..All the stories on R35 and evo 10 track cars are useless, What pecentage of people reading the magazine can actually afford these...5% maybe...Most of us are stuck with a civic or corolla, why not glorify them more instead of the cars we already know are fast Sorry got lost excuse the rant...

i thought the street in front of my house was the place to be, especially after some light rain..Every second commodore with P plates goes down it sideways...until the next speed hump, then the stop and start all over again

Quad tips are just silly, on any car other than a mid-engined exotics. Holden Ford Nissan are all doin the quad tip thing and it is just plain silly, on the new Holdens only the two inside tips are functional the other 2 are just there for looks its ridiculous ..2 fat pipes FTW..And think how much weight you could save ,must be like half a kilo

look and feel like steel and make a tinging noise if i tap them... I thought i read somewhere S1 had standard steel..will try get some pics up today ^^ Also noticed this??? Is it a waste of time getting a highflow with 2IU housing or are they ok?? -
off the top of my head toyota, mitsubishi, honda ford ,porsche..I beleive mostly use this stud pattern...hondas and new lancers use different offsets though. usually around +45-50...and sometimes centre may need to be drilled out.. how much u want to spend, i have some r32 rims with bridgestones, with decent tread on them...Paid 300 for them but never used them...
