  1. Yeah but my point is i couldnt care what my fuel costs if i get enjoyment from the drive, it is all worth it I speak to many people these days that want to have a cool car, but dont actually enjoy driving If you dont enjoy driving fine, f**k off and buy ya barina and dont pretend to care about cars
  2. If its just oil form your oil change, i just pour the stuff on weeds around my garden, kills em good, also i pour it on outdoor wood, like garden edging and stuff, stops it from drying out, and around fence bases stops grass growing there and keeps dogs away...may sound crazy but it works... and technically its recycling
  3. Are variances on all fuels or just premiums Is there a way we can test fuel we buy?
  4. I think you may be pushing shit uphill there mate im sorry to say All the papers want to run is stories about hoons and crashes, on the odd occasion you may see a good will story on cars, but ususally they are about classics, vintages, hot rodders or how much a certain car sold for..Most people reading the paper dont care about the car culture, all the care about is what they are worth or how many people died in it.. For instance everytime you see stories on tv about "hoons" they always show footage of cars doin burnouts, now i am pretty sure very few, if any, people have ever died doin burnouts Yet in europe it is all most an honour to be run over by an out of control rally car Anyway, I get the feeling that respect for car culture is something that needs to be earnt, and this wont happen while kids are out there smashing up imports, Until these cars are too old that kids dont want them and only enthusiasts are driving them as classics it just isnt going to happen... As well as that your potentially writing a story that will glorify imported vehicles therefor detracting from the local car market and the companies that are putting advertisements in there papers daily..Now if you were to run paid ads for local importers, they may be willing to run stories as well but i think its a big ask All that said im not really sure what your going to write about so i may be on a different wavelength here, anything is worth a shot mate, i think it will have to be a real good article to get printed...May the force be with you
  5. Ok my apologies to those that are about to complain that this punk post whore has wasted valuable moments of there lives But some may find this interesting , It appears climate change is affecting the running of my daily.. Thats right peeps climate change, it is real and happening and i am now witness to its being When i say climate change i dont mean global warming , just the change in climate Any of my fellow mexicans will now how damn hot it was last couple of days and how wet it was today, as it happens my car ran like clockwork in todays wetter weather..no pinging, none at all even when i sunk the boot into it Still the usual flat spot but that is all We all know how cool air makes our cars run better ,and in this case its what makes it run normal I guess hot air and advanced time just dont work together at all So there was nothing wrong with the petrol and there is nothing wrong with my car Though it has developed a strange ticking noise that is a bit of a worry, but until it breaks ill just drive it However i do still have the problem of Today tonight coming around tomorrow expecting a story...Any ideas
  6. Its 2004, injected, when i say old i mean nearly 400,000kms I do go through about half a tank a week so its not old, i think alot of it has to do with timing, but usually with bp ultimate it runs fine , like any car with advanced timing the best way to drive it is with quick jabs at the accelerator, and the speed keeps wanting to creep up, so im driving along the freeway and it would creep up so i would have to back off ,as you do, at which point i would get a horrible wobble, i was having a real hard time trying to keep it steady I usually go to servos that are busy , i fill up every morning do about 300kms a day delivering stuff so i know what servos are good usually i go to the ones that have had recent revamps too with new tanks and pumps..And as you said the busy ones Ill have to run this tank dry and see if i have the same problem with the next tank i think b4 i start blaming petrol stations But it is running like absolute crap atm...
  7. Sounds cool to me Ive kinda come to the realization that what we consider cool, is not what he considers cool.. Another friend just sold his clean vy commy to buy a barina for fux sake he is 6 foot 4, but it seems fuel economy is more important than being able to fit in your car ,f**k if your that broke you need a better job not a smaller car I swear real car lovers are a dying breed
  8. Doubt that would interest him., is it for sale in here?
  9. Positive, only ever put premium, usually bp ultimate, or vortex.. was almost empty , put 40$ bp ultimate last friday, ran out of gas this arvo, after this it was driving like crap even on the freeway it would just run out of power, sort of a fading feeling (like when a lpg car is out of fuel) and pinging under load It often does this, but it is worse than usual....Hmm..Maybe my filters dirty... Will replace it tomorrow to be sure...still doesnt explain pinging! .
  10. Really doesnt matter mate, it will still be fuel when you get back..
  11. But do we know its the petrol companies themselves or is it just pov petrol stations trying to make an extra buck by selling regular in premium pumps? And isnt regular fuels octane rating around 80ish anyway..? Would i be better off spending my money on octane booster...?
  12. OK, I remember reading in a topic here somewhere , someone said that it is stupid to use the premium fuels as they are not monitored or something..and im starting to think they may be right The reason for this >> i have a duel fuel vehicle that runs on gas 95% of the time, occasionly ill run out of gas and be forced to run on petrol.. Now because the gas timing is more advanced than what a normal petrol engine would be i get horrible pinging . by accident i found the remedy for this was to use premium fuel. And although it still runs a bit off , it doesnt ping .. So now i always use premium fuel even though its an old mazda ute (I swear some people think im nuts when they see me fill it up) But anyone who has experienced deathly pinging will understand Anyway i have noticed at times , that although i have filled up with premium it will Ping like crazy and im starting to wonder if this is because that premium pump was actually giving me regular fuel therefore ...........RIPPING ME OFF Can anyone shed some light on this subject...............................................
  13. I always disconnect the negative battery terminal as my car sits for months on end.. Just do this and u will have no probs with the battery My car sat in my friends shed for 2 and a half years without being started, we put a new battery in it and it started straight away , Trusty nissan After sitting for long periods sometimes ill drive it and it will splutter a bit and wont idle, occasionly it would even stall ,so i rev the crap out of it for a bit and its fixed I think its just some buildup on a sensor or something, but it always fixes itself once its driven and gets hot If you are getting tappet noise maybe cause your oil is too thick on startup, but i wouldnt stress to much just dont drive it till it stops ticking. Let it warm up . Try a thinner oil But yeah 2.5 years mate , so 3 weeks no problems, just disconnect the negative
  14. Yeah ,my car does it too... The aircon was taken out b4 i bought it, dont think it did it b4.. Its kind of a clicking noise hey...i have no idea what it is and i dont really care
  15. Was driving with a mate the other day , a police car was following when all of a sudden a car came out of a driveway without giving way to us and cut us off, copper took off after him given us the thumbs up on his way past...
  16. Arent you subject to yearly roadworthy checks in NSW.. if so i would keep the car registered in vic as long as possible.. thus avoiding a yearly check.. Thats if u are allowed to of course..
  17. Only if they are selling the car rwc .. if they are not, then u are responsible and have 28 days to get the rwc after the seller has handed the papers to vicroads, if the seller is friendly he can withhold these papers until your rwc is obtained..not sure how legal this is, but it is possible. A seller can however sell a car unroadworthy with rego, but you are not allowed to drive it until rwc is obtained. Just depends on what arrangements you make.
  18. Yeah the alfa was interesting...however i get the feeling it could be expensive to service and/or repair....ill pass it on though.. He was reaL interested in getting a datsun 260z there for a while,,but with no mech knowledge it was a potential moneypit. It would be good as a hobby car but he wanted it for a daily, which i didnt think was a good idea... its either gotta be new or really old... ... a sporty 90s nissan would be perfect middle ground youd think ...but apparently it doesnt work that way... Only reason i care is because he askes my opinion, and he was showing me some horrid cars that are usually owned by girls...im actually trying to convince him to keep the hyundai, and save his cash... Oh and im not a fan of soarers either f*kn horrible looking things...trust you eps have found some nice supras though
  19. And then stick your dick in the exhaust pipe right
  20. Dats one ugly honda dude....ill pass it on cheers All the other cars are considered to old, believe me ive tried and will keep trying
  21. You know the other unreal benefit of this would be, imagine the turning circle on a car that could not only turn all four wheels but apply the precise amount of power to each wheel to help it turn faster, the steering and control you'd have would be unbelievable. Also i heard that an australian company is attempting to use money printing machines to make solar panels, or something like that Im all for the hydrogen celled cars myself...Go Honda!!!!!!
  22. From what i have heard also our main highways are in much better condition than alot of there open limit freeway, Also about the fences idea, you do realize a grown kangaroo can clear a 6 foot fence pretty easily, and the little ones are pretty good at crawling under them..its alot easier to stop a moose or whatever animals they have in germany Another thought that came to mind today while i was daydreaming...if there was open limit from say for eg...melbourne to sydney,.. the road is good enough for it...you could get to sydney probably in under 5 hours...now when you factor in the time to get to the airport , park your car, check in your luggage and self, await departure and then repeat the whole process at the other end it takes 4-5 hours ..why would u bother when you could drive there as quick and have more fun in the process...Anyway my point is plane companies could potentially lose out..proabably has no relevance to anything but it was just a thought We should have autobahns just so we can be cooler than germany, if for no other reason.. While we are at it to beat the nurburg ring, Tasmania should just be a fulltime racetrack
  23. Yeah hes off his Ps, but insurance prices can still hold him back 318i are pretty gutless, im not a fan really , but they do look hot and i found some 325 coupes for the price...but no interest Yeah ive been trying to push sss pulsars on him they are great cars, but he laughs everytime i mention pulsar which makes me think he deserves a lancer... And in a moment of weakness i offered him my R33, It has new paint, enkei rims with brand new tyres, bilsteins and 190rwkw and only 130kms..said hed think about it so i withdrew my offer..If you have to think about it I think alot of it boils down to looks, these kids seem to think cars are built to look at, but cars are like women. It doesnt matter how good she looks if shes no good to drive
  24. avo are well over a grand last time i checked arent they
