  1. Thanx mate...think ill stick with 32b (until rc runs out anyway), its meeting all my needs easily...
  2. i have only been using 32 bit...and my pc is a bit slower than lappy..(due to many more programs) Is there any advantages with 64 bit 99..
  3. Unitl a couple of years later when you find the only way to update anything is ...buy a new computer...
  4. Been running rc on my main pc and laptop since may, both are 2.5g dual core with 2-3 gig of ram and both run brilliantly...and i have had vista and xp sp3 run on both b4 and never liked it..xp run good, but was boring as batshit, there is so many cool new features ... any problems i found turn out to be pc related and not os.. so unless the actual release is way different from the rc...i dont see many probs...yes all the fancy graphics always slow it down but you can revert these all back to windows classic anyway, iif you really need to... But i was having the same problems as you KR when trying to install drivers..Trick is ..DONT TRY...lol...let the internet work its magic..works for me anyway You will find a lot of programs and drivers need to be run in vista compatible modes atm until the world catches up.. and i dont bother trying to use driver cds as none of them are compatible. But unlike Vista when i installed 7 all drivers were immediately up 2 date, it was great..When i recently installed a new Graphics card, i turned it on and it worked straight away..But thinking i had to install the driver cd i did, and it went spaz..nothing worked..Trick was not to install anything, 7 had done it for me if its for a strictly business/bookwork pc there is probably no real need for anything better than xp...but for home win7 its great...although it wont play your blurays oh and that cool little WMP gadget for the launch bar is gone.. . just my opinions anyways FTR...i never had much luck running 7 on a seperate partition, some things just wouldnt work (MC mainly), only fresh install with no other os or partitions worked seamlessly.
  5. I was under the impression that s1 turbos could handle more as they were not ceramic... Someone please correct me if im wrong
  6. been runnin win7 rc since about may on my main home pc..still runnin xp3 on my old comp cause it cant handle 7 yet... have not had 1 issue with it at all..all drivers updated instantly and has never crashed..actually had problems when i tried to load drivers from disk...so dont bother with disks now...still unhappy about no blu-ray support.. but im sure there will be decent codecs too fix this soon as its released...but seriously dont think blu-ray is worth the hassle anyways... tried various versions of vista and was never happy... Win7 FTW.....
  7. Mt dandy is good fun, only problem is, by the time you overtake 1 tourist you've caught up with another... even late at night...other problem is its not really anywhere near dandenong...lol..though there are some good roads out there
  8. Geez.. you got the only skyline there....u meeting at midnight huh...if im out n about as i often am, ill cruise past,.
  9. Works for me...
  10. Not trying to rain on your parade here mate ,both cars a better than mine.. but did you ever consider twin turbos for your commy. i believe the full kit is about 15k..and would eat just about every skyline (and most crutch rockets) for breakfast lunch and dinner... anyway i fell for my first drive too, drove it , had to have it...still like it...and it leaves falcodores for dead around corners...and its only a gtst But if it was my cash id twin turbo the commy... Unless of course you want a track car then the gtr would win..you can tow it there with the ss Welcome to the club...
  11. ..Maybe if you get your mates to lift up the back wheels arches , worked in my gemini...lol... just kidding , listen to these guys.
  12. ive seen a few 300zx with those wheels they look pretty good too..so they will fit but yet too see a skyline I believe , honda ford toyota and nissan all share same stud pattern, have also seen porsche and merc amg rims on nissans
  13. i reckon this sounds like a good idea, but maybe gunmetal..to match the wheels..for a classy look.. However red or dark orange would look sportier and match the tailights
  14. Im no brain but i counted four?
  15. Im a bit worried about the toe out on the front wheels..could cause excessive tyre wear..
  16. I had my injectors cleaned and a new fuel pump while i was at it...made a lot of difference in response..was much nicer and smoother to drive.... Power wise no big deal!!!
  17. And most of the ones that are made here are made from parts that have been shipped from overseas...if you break down the bits that make up a commodore you would find most of it is outsourced Its actually just a clever combination of other peoples bits...
  18. Haha...how unaustralian of you.. However rust in my backyard is pretty much all it does these days...So in a way its fullfilling its destiny...
  19. Haha...memories..same thing wagging school, we were sitting at the lights with mate who just got his license...he somehow managed to stick it in reverse instead of first...rammed into the magna behind us.. Another time seen a hot girl, waved , she waved back, i ripped the handbrake turned around and took out a row of wheelie bins...funnily enough she thought it was funny and i did get the girl..well for the day anyway
  20. This here is why racecars and road cars should not mix Car companies try to put to many things into everyday cars that are made for picking up shopping and kids...there not meant to be racing so why do they need 400hp motors... people spends thousands of pointless dollars trying to blend the 2 and car companies sit back and laugh as they take our money. and while they brag about having 20kws more than the last model it is usually only to compensate the 50kg of extra weight of all the safety features..cars in the 60s were doing 14 sec 1/4 miles...withough seatbelts This is why companies like GMC are going under because they have spent to long building dreams instead of realities..And i hate the way holden has sat in the back pocket since the VN.. They way i figure it if you buy a cheap everyday runaround for suburban duties , the money you would save on day to day running costs would leave you with enuf cash to buy a small dedicated race car. More of these would mean more racetracks for enthusiasts to race on. While everyone is out racing on the steets, all they are doing is giving true enthusiasts a bad name.. I personally am sick of hearing dumbass P-platers doing burnouts over the speed humps in my street every fkn night Airbags are great ABS is great ESP is great ..Traction control is ghey.... (I still laugh at the girl who told me her traction control didnt work cause she slid out in the wet) But in a dedicated race car they are pointless...learn how to drive
  21. Even old green kingswoods?
  22. Yeah tax incentives make a big difference dont they.. And you dont have to throw the salespitch at me i know they are great cars ( cough butt ugly cough cough).. i was thinking along the same lines (Liberty GT).. but no tax incentives here meant i bought the missus a honda and kept my sky...unfortunately i dont get the best of both worlds..one is mega comfy.. the other lots of fun to drive...And when im driving one i always want the other. Personally i like working on my cars in my time off. But if it consumes too much of your leisure time (and if you dont consider working on cars leisure) i agree it is probably not worth it ... new born baby tends to leave me stuck at home more often now and im actually contemplating selling the sky for a 500hp engine rebuild on the kingswood....as i dont get much chance to drive the skyline anymore ..and i just dont have the funds to do both. It would handle like crap and be an absolute pig to drive...but a quik stab of the throttle and i would soon forget that
  23. Sounds about right.. most people on here are gunna tell you to replace the waterpump too,i think the complete kit is somewhere between 4-500$ spark plugs are about 20$ each..plus oil and filters at least another 100$ add on 4-8 hours labour...looking at about a grand... of course you maybe able to hunt around and find yourself some bargains..But this can be time consuming....and not always work out the way you planned .. Sux doesnt it when ya finally save up the cash for the car you want then find out its gunna cost a mint to keep the thing running right... Jocaro motorsport are good down your way .just off governor rd...could be expensive though
  24. no it is on my list of things to do along with new tyres. and an oil change..lol.. if you have a spare one laying around ill happily take it off your hands
