The wind blew the pages over in my street directory in my haste not to lose my page i ploughed up the ass of a ford territory...in the work ute luckily...folded the bonnet in half....insurance came through..and my old mazda bravo ute spent the next few weeks in a shed full of ferraris, astons and porches..getting a makeover...
  2. Aren't stock ecus limited to 180km...it does appear stock but limiter has been removed...how is this done?
  3. I have no idea what it is but ill tell ya a funny trick If ya fit airhorns under your passenger seat and wire it up to your glovebox Then when casually cruising along with a friend oneday you ask them to get something out of the glovebox... Absolutely priceless

Yeah all these tricks are great.. and everyone keeps a jar of PAWPAW oil in there glovebox.. also if it does break just use an old stocking to replace it....dont worry about this repco rubbish...if ya radiator leaks you can plug it with bubblegum...hubba bubba works best....and if it overheats just pee in the radiator first rule in the Mechanics for Dummies handbook If it doesn't move and it should....use WD-40 if it does move and it shouldn't ...use Gaffa tape keep these 2 things an old pair of stockings, a packet of hubba bubba and a jar of PAWPAW oil in ya glovebox and you will never have a problem...

  7. take hose off top of fuel filter, get friend to switch car onto 'ON' position with a lighter burn the excess fuel that comes out of the hose...this doesnt fix anything but you can impress your mates with your flamethrower..

Id say a proper service would be first on the list...its running rich because something is wrong and the ecu is adding more fuel to compensate.. how long since you changed your air and fuel filter...how old are the spark plugs ...these are the basic things that contribute to poor performance.. this is why we service our cars...if all these things are fresh...then the problem is elsewhere...maybe a tired o2 or MAF sensor or something...but if your engine is hunting at idle like it is ,,theres a good chance your torque is all over the place therefor confusing your torque converter causing your gearbox to keep changing gears... Give the car a good service...all filters, spark plugs and oil...pretty simple really....if problem persists, see a doctor

Has anyone seen those guys selling car wash in a can at the servos...they ask ridiculous prices but you can barter heaps and get it for half what they are asking...i reckon the stuffs brilliant.. i washed 3 filthy cars with it and still had a half a can left..plus it leaves a nice waxy shine afterwards....im not selling the crap..but i do think its good plus its waterless so good for the environment...which means i can spend 10 mins in the shower now when i say half , i mean a quarter of the original price they quote which they then half..
  12. buy a honda ..vtecs are awesome ...its like having a turbo without having a turbo, not to mention they are nimble as an alley cat, 10k will get you a hot crx or a good integra or prelude My missus has an 04 accord v6, great fuel ec.(melb to adelaide on 1 tank of petrol) it has the nastiest sting when you boot it..and looks like something my grandma would drive...and ive been in crxs that are just plain scary in tight streets the only problem is they are all FWD...GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR......xcept the s2000 of course they finally make a RWD car and forget to put a roof on it...GRRRRRRRRRRR
  13. I got a s1 and there is noting there at all. just a platic plug to fill the hole most likely its a switch of some sort...join the wires somehow and see if anything happens... if not its probably for an acccessory you dont have like blind_elk said
  14. Ha ha... It is a pain, its the seal where the gearbox shaft goes into the engine, not an expensive part , the one for my ute was 15$ from memory. but a pain to get at.. you'll now if ya clutch starts slipping cause its covered in oil...lol

Sorry when i said opened i guess i meant closed...clockwise...my mistake its the shhhhhhhh noise and..it keeps making power i suppose its just not making as much power as i want.. .. blow off is standard and i like it that way, truth is id like to mod the car but want to keep the look standard, think ill even put the airbox back in...i was rather dissapointed to find a stock turbo and am seriously considering a mild upgrade something that fits in the original spot without too much drama ..and an ebc...can this be done for a coupla grand...im not interested in spending a fortune...i can do the work myself then take it to a dyno for tuning Ive driven some heavy boosted cars and hate the way nothing happens till you hit 4000.. Im not a horsepower hero , i just like to drive...

Thanx mate..ill take your word 4 it then..I'm tired of thinking about it I was told bigger injectors and the fuel pump had been done , he said 550 but wasnt sure..im starting to wonder if they were done at all...... I wish i just didn't care and could just enjoy driving it but i'm a bit of a tech head when it comes to whats in my machine

Well not yet but if i keep pulling things apart it might.....what i am wondering is.. .IS it possible to make 190rwkw and 600nm of torque with a standard 45v2 turbo 2 3/4 exhaust with 4 inch cannon apexi pod full of dust ,, 550cc injectors ?? fuel pump.. at 11psi with a bunnings bleed tap .the ecu says nothing other than re-manufactured and doesnt appear chipped though speed limiter is removed... does this sound about right or am i the victim of an over excited dyno...it was fairly new and power was applied liberally..i didnt buy anything of him either so he had no need to talk it up. i just paid 50$ for a quik run...power seems good but i have no idea where its coming from
  22. well turns out i has it all wrong...its a nissan 45v2. and the wheel is steel... if any one can shed light id be grateful...otherwise ill just keep scanning forums.. But now where did the power come from...pod filter...doubt it...muffler...doubt it....computer re-map...maybe.....doubt it...
  23. i think you've missed the point , but you are right about v-specs...what about the 4 door gtr...not many of them around is there... yeah i know my car is rubbish (thanx for reminding me)......it would hold its value kept in good shape...but wont really go up ..maybe in 50 years but ill b pushing up daisys then so whats the point....but its all i got so im still gunna look after it and guard it with a shotgun but looking at old datsuns the other day and couldnt believe some over the prices...50,000 for a hotted up 260z...i didnt see that coming
  24. (As much as id like to agree here. I cant help but think of all the people that bought a gt falcon or a monaro in the late 60s... Now one guy kept his in the garage cause it was something special, something he had worked hard for and cherished. probably took it out every couple of weeks , washed the dust of it drove it to church..you know the story Now the other guy drove it everyday racked a buzzillion miles (thats if he didnt wreck it) wear and tear took its toll and eventually sold it to the wreckers for 50$ scrap... Who's laughing now?...the guy with the half million car.... Anyone who thinks these cars (GTR, WRX, EVO) will not be collectible in 40 years is probably the same person who wishes they held onto their car 40 years ago... What would you prefer when you retire half a million dollars ,or a pile of scrap metal.. Then again the way the economy is going scrap metal will probably be worth half a mill...lol Who knows maybe my gtst will be worth a few quid oneday GRAN TORINO IS THE BEST MOVIE EVER.....GOODNIGHT..
