  1. Have had mine up for sale here and there too Mark... Still not sure if I should sell case I end up with a case of the sads too.
  2. ya he sold the car...
  3. ok....reasons im getting an error or code "03" (as it appears on my unit)...have tried to recalibrate but pushing its button does nothing.... bosch sensor has barely 3000km on it...originally had this problem with not getting enough power, but I fixed this when I rewired it...unit is getting 12v or thereabout and it was working fine until I changed a fuel filter, I also drained the tank a few times...none of which should have any effect on the wideband I thought...i did have it running too rich for a while, have fixed that... pulled sensor out and looks clean... Anyone got any ideas here, I'm stumped ?
  4. i'm over trolling this thread...have fun guys....
  5. because ?
  6. So GTSboy seeing as you're the physicist. ..a small test...if we were to get an RB complete intake side...attach a plate or some tubes with basic a pressure sensor, like a tyre gauge to the end of each runner and fill it with compressed air via the TB and then take the readings from each gauge... would this be a effective enough representation of real world events?
  7. is it me or is it pretty bloody obvious you just made that up to try save some face..... let me make a story up....back when nIrvana were still top of the pops we cut n shut the plenum on an almost new rb25...at the time it was a never thought of idea and there was no internet available to get online an bounce our ideas with other self proclaimed geniuses, so we thought we should stick a temperature prope in every exhaust port... So we did it, an EGT stuck in every runner...it s a somewhat expensive excercise but back then an rb25 was worth like a squillion dollars so we thought it was worth it... the results we found were fine, we had perfectly even heat distribution across all cylinders.. wh then thought we should double check so we put a wideband in every runner, which is pretty silly because widebands dont like heat and should be placed further down the exhaust anyway but we thought it was definately worth sacrificing some very expensive widebands because it was definately worth it, it was an RB afterall.....It made about 400kws...which was alot back then....unfortunately we did not document everything on a website for your perusal and even if we did it would be well lost in the archives by now. but that engine is still running strong..You will have to take my word on that though ... thats the problem with know-it-alls they keep reinstating the same point of view when they have still brought no factual evidence of anything... I've given up because you have brought nothing but theories to the table and a lot of slander... I dont know what makes you believe your argument is any more valid than mine...Just because you have your hand in GTSboys pocket doesn't automatically make it right, its just means you get might get a reach a around in the showers at night... so to come down to you're level...You're an idiot!....and inline with this conversation I am also changing my signature to reflect upon yours, I even made it a funny colour so it really stands out ...but unlike you, I actually thought it up myself.. Thats because its a load of crap...
  8. Ok.. Lets discuss. "Nissan designed it that way for a reason" Nissan designed alot of things for a reason, most of which are modified by some of you at some point...so maybe we should stop modifying everything! Anyway I will gladly retract any argument and admit they are omissions of my lack of knowledge, when I see some factual evidence that these plenums are detrimental to engine health which it seems none of you are yet to provide.. And for the record "she'll be right" Is commonly referred to reference a job done right ..unless of course you have a stick firmly implanted in your rectal area then it becomes a term associated with those who make themselves feel better or try to prove their point by the putting down of others.. I am not here to attack anyones character,I am simply providing another point of view
  9. exactly ,when you cram enough boost into anything its going to end up in the goddamn cylinders regardless of what sort of plenum you have on it or how many millions was spent designing it....
  10. Personally I wouldn't do it either... im just not convinced any harm is done doing it...
  11. lol...fair enough..in this industry its another shitty RB motor that's gumma die sooner or later anyway...
  12. I guess nobody ever taught you the thermal flow effects of "She'll be right mate"
  13. Yeah what Hanald said...i almost put me on my car till I realized how shitty it was going to make working under it...theres a starter motor oil filter and a lot of pipes under there and luckily none of them usually go wrong ...but if they do you are in for a world of hurt
  14. Not sure, Says Japan on their site, was about the same price as AEM so figured it was an entry level unit...hopefully I can get it up and running again..its a cool little gauge but can't find the instruction booklet to figure out why the error code...
  15. I got this depo gauge...seems all right has Bosch sensor.. Started reading lean, turns out my fuel filter needed replacing...replaced fuel filter now wideband reads error...tried to calibrate it but no response.. Pretty sure sensor is still fine , if unit is dead can I just get the techedge so I can link it to my adaptronic?
  16. That's nice that you are educated GTSboy im sure your mummy is proud of you too... But believe it or not I do know about the lumps inside the plenum and what they are there for..and i didn't even finish high school. I also know there is plenty of cars around making power with these plenums so unfortunately your argument, while somewhat "educated" is not really being proven 100% correct yet Now the only point I was trying to make is that there is alot more pressure in the plenum of a boosted car than that of a NA..i don't remember ever hearing of an NA car blowing the welds on the intake...doesn't it make sense that this pressurized air is going to make its way out of or into any opening (hopefully the valves) that it can make its was into... Now while.it might not technically be the most efficient way of doing things it seems to me that it can indeed work well enough as I am yet to hear of an engine that blew up just because it had a cut n shut plenum...
  17. but bro, a bunch of internet people just told me it wouldn't work with no factual evidence to back up their claims.. how can you argue with that? reading through some toyota forums and they have the same arguments on there about the old 7m intake and the jz ffp...now it looks to me the JZ just put the throttle body on the front of the plenum...there was no dramatic changes to the runners or anything its all the same shit...but the TB is on the front now....maybe they realized it makes no difference whatsoever where the TB is when the charge supplied is under pressure...Thats what a plenum is for to accumulate and store the intake charge..the cylinders will then suck in what they need, when they need it..maybe it would make a difference on a NA that has to draw the air in itself..but a boosted car has a plenum full of boosted air...there is plenty there for everyone... now i imagine the internet theorists are now saying but the forced air is getting pushed to the back cylinders more which is causing it to lean out there...but by that theory one would have to assume the stock design is just forcing more air into the middle cylinders in which case the end cylinders would still be leaning out So while I do agree it looks like balls...I'm not convinced it is a bad idea.....its just an ugly one and we have all been balls deep in an ugly one before..
  18. no...but it does make spark plug changes sooooo much easier
  19. yeah have heard that...still dont know if i beleive it...people have said the same about greddy plenums..
  20. i like this....it "Seems wrong" is there any anecdotal evidence that it is wrong?
  21. Yeah rears shouldn't have more than a degree or 2 at most..3 on the front is fairly common, I run it but not on the back...and they shouldn't be that different side to side..half a degree at most...sure you haven't got a bent control arm... It must look odd from behind your car... For good handling you want r 2-3 on the front and 1-1.5 rear...for good looks you want to wear a dress and heels..
  22. ^^ Just waiting for a mate song is better
  23. lol..maybe you're just used to driving the ford...
  24. thats pretty cool....can that be made for any application or is it specifc to that turbo
