Just got off the phone with the mechanic $2.2k for a N/A and has done about 62k Surely that's way over price. From what he has told me i have no compression in 5 cylinders and the valves are rooted, coils need to be replaced

Well it looks like the cam belt came off, engine overheated then went POP! really i'm lucky i pulled over when i did i could of melted a rod or piston or at least something. If i went a Rb25det what would i need to change?

And update on my engine .......... it's a goner i have the choice of rebuilding or engine swap

Car is getting picked up this morning by tow truck and taken to Dr. Auto in Carrum Downs So i guess i will get a call sometime today telling me whats wrong

Ok so as i was driving up to Mount Buller for the Buller cruise my r33 decided to stop working. So this is what i recall happening Driving along (at speed limit of course) I noticed i was loosing power while going up a hill so i dropped it down a gear then i hear rattling which seemed to be coming from down near the cat converter so then a dropped down to 3rd and i still hear the rattle and i'm loosing power then i drop it down to 2nd and a SHIT load of white smoke pours out from my engine bay i pull over instantly and shut the engine off i open the bonnet and it seems as though the smoke was coming from the back of the rocker cover meanwhile the res of the SAU Vic guys that were behind me pull over and run up to see what has happened I tried to kick it over and it just seemed like it had no compression so i thought ok i've done a gasket Then the rest of the SAU Vic guys that were in front come back (thanks guys ) By then the smoke had died down and a few other guys confirmed that it might be the gasket. once we got a tow truck organized and pick up my car i thought i will try and kick it over still nothing. So now i'm home i tried to kick it over pumped the pedal like hell it finally turned over now my car sounds like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyIdqJtEtQI check the link So my first impression is tappets/lifters what do you guys think and would any of you guys know a rough price on how to fix it?

I finally got my car started (alot shitload of pumping the pedal) seems as though it could be my lifters/tappets but with them going would that cause a SHIT load of smoke?

Well i would like to say a MASSIVE Sorry to all you guys i'm truly sorry that you guys had to sit in the heat for 45 mins or so i really appreciate the fact you helped out a fellow driver you could of just left me there and let me roast in the sun while i waited for the tow truck. But aside that let down the weekend was great the food was great being passenger in a AE86 was also more fun than i expected i had a great time. and Joesef i owe you big time buddy those mates rates on the tow truck were awesome not to mention letting me ride passenger and getting me home i owe you big time. I can not thank you guys enough for the help that you guys have given me. And Mel i'll make sure i'll do all the dishes next time (i went do dry them but i was beaten to it)

Spotted a r34 with the worst paint job i have ever seen on a skyline. I think he was a bit confused i don't think he knew the difference between a Skyline 34 and a Toyota Sprinter (AE86). His paint job was the tofu car from Initial D. Oh and i spotted him at the Nepean Highway, White street lights in Parkdale last night would of been around 11ish
