www.megagames.com IGN isn't too bad, but you have to pay for a lot of stuff now. They only offer very little for free. www.tomshardware.com Not a games site, but very interesting none the less. Plus you can palm it off as Proffessional Developement at work

Dave, I think that makes a lot of sense. The same price for membership $20-30 and then have merchandise for sale. Also since someone will have to cough up money for the mechandise initially, you might want to offer some kind of pre-payment plan to get a bit of float to work with. That way you can order in bulk and save, as well as having money without dipping into your own cash. Also have you discussed about doing bulk buys with the rest of the states, then getting them customised/embroided cheaply for each state? Or even just SAU mechandise, not state specific? Anyhooo, whatever happens is cool with me, I hate shopping so SAU - QLD merchnadise is gonna be great for chrissy presents. :uh-huh: And it means I can buy clothes that I like, not some crappy surf shit **EDIT** Oh and that poll was done by me Boxcar.

Yeah I'm keen if you come up they coast, as I have to work on weekends and I don't have the time to drive to Goldie. Let us know what's happening Cheer, Tim

MRE, When I first got my car from BSM, the clutch went like a fews days after. Well a salesman had seen your car there and they fu)ked me over cause they reckoned that it was me and my clutch wasn't gonna get fixed cause going to a drift day (Mt Cotton) wasn't normal driving. I told them, different cars, different mags, but still they didn't quite believe me. In the end they offered to have the clutch reco'ed but I paid for a decent mob to whack in a decent clutch instead. Not related to KL0 colour code, but funny none the less Cheers, Tim

Hey guys, Slip mentioned that the basic membership would be around $15, but that there would be a more expensive option with shirts etc. What I would like to know is who here is keen for the expensive option, I know I am?! Also would there be a yearly fee as well, or a once off payment. I know that as long as I got dicounts, stickers and shirts, jumpers and the like, I would be willing to pay a lot more. Anyway it's great to see it going ahead, a big thanks to Slip and others for doing so much work. If you ever need a place to crash on the Sunnny Coast let me know. Cheers, Tim

Yep you got it in one. Try to use a short as lead as possible. Just remember that you engine should be warm before you check, as it changes slightly with heat.
-
Agreed. In fact they are one of the best upgrades you can do dollar wise. If you are confident to fit them, get a kit and some lith grease and whack them in, you will be surprised by the different

One way would be to PM DAMQIK, he has whipped up a quick adapter. He should be able to send you some pictures of it. Basically you remove the COIL and hook up a short ignition lead between the coil and the spark plug. This gives you a lead to hook onto. Also you will obviously have to remove piping, cover etc off the engine. Also you will have to remove the front cover off the engine. Sorry I can't explain it more. If you do a search for spark plugs on the forums, you will find detailed info on getting access to your coils/plugs. Umm if you check meggala's site he has an absolute wealth of info and links. Regards, Tim

Damn that's a more than decent price, put me down please. So what is the offical title of the corporation? Also where do I send cash, loved ones and souls? Just joking on the souls bit

For two fitty I would say it isn't a true high flow cat. Maybe a "higher" flow cat. Usually it simple has larger flanges on the end. Still it isn't a bad price, and usually worth getting just realise that it isn't a high flow or racing cat. I would try to get the price down. If you are doing basic mods for now it will be more than enough, if you are going to go pretty serious with it, it might be better off saving for a proper cat/ full systen at a later stage. Cheers, Tim

Thanks for the links, I'm checking it out now (Damn you telstra I have no broadband you scum sucking f*ck turds grrrrrrrr. Oh and thanks once again

BelGarion, Mate we all love Nissan's and that's what counts. I mean without silvia's and 180's where would all that mad cheap drift action be? Don't be put off by what some people say, there's always going to be someone who gives you sh*t. Just tell 'em to f*ck off. Personally, I congratulate you for getting a car and not doing any crap mods to it. Now you have a Skyline enjoy that as well. You obviously bought the silvia for a reason (maybe cheap to run etc.) and if so, it has done it's job. I guess to recap - you are most welcome into the skyline community, unless you are a bogan, in which case you are even more welcome for converting from the dark side Cheers, Tim

Ahh well, the Monaro won, I guess I will have to eat my words about it. All points on unfairness aside, it is a very good effort from any team that has a car that lasts the whole 24 hours, more so if it is the first offical race. However the Germany cars Ie BMW where very very competitive. Ohhh well I will cough it up. Congrats to Holden, HRT, Harrops etc. Still if only they allowed my dad's uncle's brother in-law with his 541 1/3 chevy small block 12 cyc v8. It would totally kick butt, cause like it has turbo factory rotary headers and does 11's on the track Also how sweet was the mosler. definitely a tough machine.

Hey Sniffy, I actually buy somethings that I like. I would never pay for some shitty games, but something like BG series, GP4, SOF2 etc are worth buying. I know we can't all afford everything, but I reckon if it is good, and I can afford to, I pay for it. Plus the more games we BUY, the more games companies put out that are decent. /rant Cheers, Tim

Well I agree that lowering speed limits isn't going to stop people dying, however I do think that people going and doing outrageous things like that is what brings the law down on us worse. Eg everyone branded with the same label "hoons" or "violent car thugs". The government in Australia is very knee jerk with its responses to problems. Think about major problems in Australia, Port Arthur massacre and others, rather than researching the best way to prevent it, they mass banned guns. Same thing will happen with everything else. Larger road toll, more radars, lower speed limits etc. It sucks, but when you're trying to stay in power, the general public want something done. I just wish that all the money that we pay for fines rego etc would actually go towards better roads and a more complete driver training.

I would try advancing your timing to 20-25. I had same problems, at exactly 4500 to 5500rpm then fine until redline. Changing the timing totally fixed it. As a quick review here are some common cause of the surgin/popping etc spark plugs farked/gapped wrong Timing Air Flow metre shagged, faulty or dirty far to rich or far to lean (on stock usually to rich, on boosted line usually a bit to lean so ecu retards the hell out of the timing) Hitting boost cut due to leaking/inaccurate boost guage (Says 12psi, but maybe spiking to 14-15psi) I'm sure there is other reasons, but most of these should be free or very cheap fixes. Good luck with fixing it. Cheers, Tim

Hi JimX, From what I understand, it's not just unburnt fuel. Hydrocarbons, and various other crap are made from the combustion of the engine. Usually unburnt fuel isn't so much of a problem. Also remembe rthat as you car developes more power, you are creating more waste. High fuel usage simply make more crap. In Japan, emission testing is done at low RPM and load, so even poorly tuned cars can pass. In Australia, the testing of emissions is extremely strict, therefore your car needs to be in good tune before it will pass. With regards to emissions being hard to control their are, all new engine have (usually) very high levels of compromise (sp?) to accomodate NVH and emissions. They are also much better desinged, so we usually see a better engine anyway. If you take a look very *very* serious drag cars etc, the will usually modify the engineering extensively, as they have no need for emissions control, road reg etc. In the end, having a car tuned properly, with a new or clean cat. should pass all emissions. Some of this stuff is very general, and or slightly wrong, feel free to correct me. Regards, Tim

Check you plugs, and also try changing your timing to 20-25. After all my hassles, it was simply timing. If you want more, do a search for surging.

You might want to do a search on the site for more info, but basically the noise you're hearing is the sound of the turbo "chopping" the air as it bounces back off the throttle body. Usually not a good thing. If your BOV is tuned properly, it should vent the pressure rather than let it flow back through the turbo Cheers, Tim
