  1. yeh my compressor housing and cartridge are legit, i ment the exhaust housing outlet is not 3"
  2. whatsisname- hey mate, the spring in the wastegate is around 13- 14 psi conveniently, the same guys that tuned my car tuned an r33 with the same cooler, turbo, wastegate and EBC- pretty much a carbon copy lol. and would u believe it had a similar outcome with the boost drop issue. As far as my tuner believs, the wastgate is the weak point, and we are going to try a heavier spring and a few other little tricks the the makers of the gate have suggested. If this fails, ill be getting a Tial Out of curiosity, what size outlet did the exhaust housing have on your 3076? The one i purchased was brand new, from a third party who has the turbo send directly from garrett, but the out let on mine was smaller than 3", which i thought was standard?? Thanks heaps for the reply

  4. its all genuine garrett, genuine housings and core
  5. elir32- not running the stock black intake, got a customized set up there, but ill check the silicon joins when i put it on the dyno next. as for the cat... wat cat.....lol Tangles- ill be running a pressure test on the cooler in the next few days. i knew one day the return flow would bite me in the arse lol Thanks for all the quick replies, really is greatly appreciated
  6. Motors in good condition, 110 xxx with good compression across the board. Dosnt use oil or leave any in the catch can. Cooler is 600 x 240 x 60mm... i thought it would be sufficient? It does get pretty hot in there lol... Was just expecting more at the end of it. Before i put the turbo, injectors and fuel pump in it made just above 190 with nistune on rollers... 45 rwkw was a good gain.. but for some reason i was expecting more...
  7. hmm i was hoping to get just below those figures... its does seem like something in my set up is letting me down.. any one else have a similar set up?
  8. Ive got an R34 GTT that i bout a year ago that was stock besides a cat back. Now ive done some minor mods, and its made 275 rwkw on a hub dyno, and 235 on rollers... 235 seems low for the mods ive completed. Mods as follows: GT3076 .63 ( exhaust housing outlet was around 2 3/4" for some reason??) 3" turbo back, custom dump, cat back fujitsubo giken exhaust 50mm synapse external gate turbo technics MBC (soon to be profec b 2) 725cc experts injectors bosch 044 Z32 AFM cooling pro return cooler NIStune ECU Tuned by Garage 7 standard engine standard exhaust and inlet manifold Running 17 PSI, suffering boost drop down to around 13 which i am hoping to counteract with EBC??? Making bugger all torque too.... Cant remember figures on that though. Anyone think that 235 rwkw on a set of rollers to low? Any suggestions?
  9. Hey mate ill give u a quick run down. I started with 3 in turbo back, stock BOV, el cheapo pod filter on a 34 gtt. I just removed my cat, straight pipe in. illegal... but your choice 11PSI with a torbo technics boost controller, i think they are called. were raved about cause there good and cheap, around $40 off ebay Cooling pro return flow FMIC from just jap around $550 delivered. Took me bout 4 hours to install, 22 rwkw gain. Yesterday i got nistune done... Safe tune with a safe AFR and on 12 psi. $300 for the board $50 to install $600 to tune Another 22 rwkw gain. was really happy with the nistune, really smooth power, from foot to the floor to red line it just keeps pulling in every gear. End of the day, pulled 207 rwkw. Next upgrade is a decent clutch.. Hope this gives u some guidance, i have dyno print outs if u want them too
  10. Had a silver 35 GTR pull up beside me in the city today for a chat... Had standard SA plates.. Gorgeous car.. wondering if its someone on here?
  11. Are u thinking of the guy who owns the one in the museum in the hills? I think hes taking it out of the museum if he hasnt done so already...
  12. was a fun cruise, lot of nice cars, lot of shit boxes too lol
  13. so i put in some ngk iridiums with a gap of .8 makes the miss alot better, but still dosnt completely solve the problem... any ideas??
  14. yeh is did nothing tring another o2 sensor, so good call... i got some ngk iridiums to put in tomorrow, just annoying that everine else with this same angine and same mods can run standard copper plugs, yet mine wont...
  15. so im going to try the o2 sensor in the exhaust.... Not to sure if this will have to much of an affect but with my limited knowlede i believe this is a logical step... Any one agree or not? help???? lol
  16. na didnt drop any,and even then, i went and bout another set of the NGKs just to be sure. Also tired replacing plugs 1 at a time, and untill its all iridium, it still misses.... cheers though..
  17. hmmm driving through the city today i can notice it while going slow.... very annoying.... and its already running rich... ill put iridiums back in and see how it runs... any more ideas though?
  18. as far as i am aware its still the standard ecu as it has the sticker/seal on it. im the first oz owner too, i think they have to make sure the ecu is standard when going through compliance... unfortunately lol and yes it sounds like a lean pop, but my tuner put it on the dyno and its still rich, runs safe allthrough the rev range with a smooth power curve. im ok with running iridiums... but still i really wanna know why its doing this.. is this common at all?
  19. yes thats what mine sounds like, did the injectors help? tried that, didnt help tried that, different only iridiums make it go away, also swapped my coils witha new set to test, made no difference blew it all out with compressor before i removed plugs, and it goes away with iridium plugs thanks though eveyone.... :s
  20. also advancing the timing makes it worse
  21. I have a 98 r34 gtt, 3"turbo back, FMIC, boost controller running 12psi. while doing the 100k service, i took out its denso iridium IK20 plugs with a gap of 1.1 and replaced them with NGK bcpr6es gapped to .8 Now it misses at idle and a little when accelerating lightly up to 2000rmp, but is fine when driving normally and when hammering it. I played around with the gapping and the smaller ther gap the worse it is, but even at 1.2, the miss at idle remains. Its not running lean, ive checked coils, airflow meter and for any vacuum leaks, all that aside, the miss dissapears when i put the iridiums back in.... Im stumped, my mechanic is stumped... I know i could just run the iridiums, but there must be something causing this, and its driving me nuts.... Could it be injectors? Any help please??
  22. Spotted tonight in mt barker, a silver r35 "R1 GTR" i think the plates were... Drove past, i followed for a bit to have a look.... Very nice...
