  1. Oh yes done this when the window started flopping around. Turns out the guides that run along the rail chanel had crumbed way. Took off the door card and pulled out the window mech, then the window, which you have to pull out through the top. As said unbolt the guide rail and don't spend 30 minutes getting frustrated trying to find a way to slide it out upwards cause that don't frigging work. Drop it down and out through the door hole. All I did to repair it was slice some 10mm clear plastic tube, vertically, then screw it to the guide rail both sides. This tubing rolls inward on both sides and leaves a gap wide enough to hold the window. To finish all I did was lube the plastic tube with olive oil and Bob's your uncle . . . well if he has the operation he can be your Aunt ! ! 10 bucks in plastic tube and another 5 minute job done again . . . . YEH BULLSH#T ! My love for Skylines knows no bounds !
  2. Yes I'm going through a similar thing with my R33 with rust in seams due to dried out seam sealer cracking. After much research I settled on Penetrol. Read what it does and its done a bloody fantastic job for me. Pressure pack comes with a thin tube to get into hard to reach places.
  3. Oh poop ! I missed the "deposit" in your post !
  4. I laughed so hard a snot bubble popped out my nose ! And seriously ! You can still buy a decent house in Western Sydney for 2 mill ? ?
  5. Oh bugger ! Your right ! Good old hydrogen sulfide. Takes me back to the good old school days !
  6. As above ! Cause I love the smell of sulphur dioxide in the morning !
  7. After its dried out Penetrol is you friend to treat rust and seal up those seams
  8. Yep ! Cluster out first. Dismantle. Check for oil grease. If oil and grease = clean. Then check seal at the drive coming from the gearbox. Seal broken = change seal. Doing it the other way around it will again push grease/oil back into the cluster and then your gonna have to do the cluster clean all over again !
  9. Wait ! What ? My knees are NOT supposed to look like porridge ? ? Ummmm ! I'd best get to the docs ! Maybe there a cream or antibiotics or something! !
  10. And at over $2 per litre I'm starting to consider setting up a corn mash still and converting over to alcohol and running mine on it ! Up side of that is it all doesn't have to go into the car ! Win win !
  11. Yes I as well would like to find out where I could get some of the seat material with the red or blue small squares in it
  12. How much is it to re-uploster? Well that's a "how longs a piece of string?" question ! And I answer thusly: "twice half its length! " . . . . . . Seriously you'll have to chase multiple quotes for that one from different uphlostrerereres ! Ask around, in your area and on the forums, chase reviews and most of all see the finished product in person cause photoshop is a wonderful thing !
  13. Yep that's a superb price and ther is no way you will over capitalise on you investment. As to the bracket, again just use the passenger side seat bracket ( obviously reversed ) as a sample to reshape it and in this case, TIG it back together.
  14. Considering the price of GTR stuff now the answer is yes. That's a straight forward TIG or even MIG job. I'd put extra tubing inside, for extra strength and weld it up. Then use the spare seat as an example to get the bolster rails in the correct position and the re-apolster. If you don't mind me asking what did you pay for the pair as they are?
  15. Oh very very true ! I'm honestly thinking about taking my entire R33 series 3 red stitch GTR interiour out of my car, selling it and buying a small house ! I spotted as pair of R400 GTR seats on GumBay on the interweb and they were asking around the 12K mark !
  16. Oh ! Oh ! And the Subaru SVX . . . . . . . soooo 90s !
  17. Every one has seemed to of have missed . . . . . . . The Mazda Cosmo . . . . . . what a MACHINE ! !
  18. Yup but for me its the HR ! Cut my teeth on the old holden 6s in the day ! And here's me thinking in the day it was also the 300ZX and the Mitsubishi GT3000 ! All, as well had good lines, but always seemed to need finishing off, style wise.
  19. Did I tell you I really love skylines ? ! ‽
  20. Ha ! Did mine as well. Used a Z hose I got at Supercheap and cut out what I needed. Then while everything was off changed out the water heater control block and the heater supply hoses to silicon on both sides. While attaching said hoses to the plastic hose fitting that goes through the firewall to the heater core they crumbled due to age. Got new heater core supply pipes, de gassed the air con took out the glove box pulled out air-conditioning fan unit and took out the heater core went to change out the busted pipes and went nope ! Went and got a brand new heater core, attached the heater core pipes, put the air con fan unit back in, re attached the new silicon heater hose, put the air conditioner fan unit back in got it regased annnnnnnnnd Bob's your uncle ! 5 minute job really ! AND I AINT DOIN THAT SH*T AGAIN ! !
  21. I booked a council pick-up for a bunch of stuff and left them out the front, with all rubbish to be picked up, on the top with other bits of scrap metal, the arvo before pick up. Inevitably the metal scrap guys turn up and take all the metal that arvo. They must have a deal going cause they certainly know what addresses to show up at ! Works every time !
  22. Don't do it if your gearbox box has already having syncro issues. The short hifter will put a greater load on them. If you must I remember Nismo did a shorter shifter, with the top part being physically shorter and the part that went into the gearbox was the same as stock. In saying that I've had a C's short shifter (I think) in mine for many years, which was given to me as the previous owner was not sympathetic to the gearbox. Thus forwarned I was careful and had to modify my normal changing style. You have to be super accurate with your clutch and shifts
  23. Weird ! Same Same with mine. Autoexcel in Bonnyrig is your friend !
  24. Oh thank God its just not me ! I thought I was the only one and I was some weird arsed automotive hoarder that need an intervention. I've had a spare R33 in my garage since 07 and now its a blessing as I'm working on my car and all I have to do is turn around and there is the part I need ! ! Its like magic ! So keep every thing except the broken stuff. As was said plastic tubs are your friend Then again I've also got old Holden 6 projects that I work on from back in the 80s that I'm working on again for nostalgic reasons
