  1. Yep sounds about right for that type of clutch ! Also check if your clutch peddal box is ok and the spot welds are holding together. Big poundage pressure plates tend to bust em.
  2. Do a search in the tutorials section as there a repair method there. Also put up a post in the wanted section if its completly dead.
  3. Sorry to hear its gone to god. Been there done that with the bad luck thing. Smoky gave me the heads up. Look just use his parts and do a 3lt for your 33 he aint gonna use em for a while anyway ! ! !

  6. Hi all, Ive got a silver top RB20DET, red top RB20DE and a brand new in the box bare RB20det head. The problem is the rocker covers are off them and I cant tell which is which. I think the silver top is a complete head. Its been decked as the guy I got them off was going to do a RB30 conversion with them but then went with a RB26 head instead. $280 for the silver top & red top RB20DE $350 for the new RB20DET Located in Sydney Pics available

  8. I make exact reproduction ones that dont wear out. In Sydneys outer west. PM me if your intersted
  9. Haha ! Zero degrees ! Move over here to Sydney ! Nice and warm by comparison But uts a bit cold here for summer at the moment (20degrees). I have to second what Munkyb0y suggests also about the plug gap. Also when you said you have changed the coils did you go brand new or second hand. The R33 Series 1 are natorious for cracking. Some of the cracks being so fine it cant be seen with the eye. A good way to see if its arcing out of the coils is to take off the valley cover and secure the ignitor pack with cable ties and when its dark fire the engine and look of it arcing out of the coils.
  10. Dude ! Stop shouting man ! We can hear you all the way from Perth ! 6BANGER your clutch pedal box is broken. Had exactally the same prob with mine. Just take it out and weld it up.

  12. Dude ! Go to the Tutorial section and do a search and you'll find a repair method for this particular problem. Thats how I fixed mine.
  13. Hey hello over there ! Ive read your post a couple of times and you dont say which car has the misfire ? The R32 or the R33 ? At a guess I'd say the first place to start would be putting a rising rate fuel pressure regulator on it as the Walbro pump is probably pumping past the stock regulator. Let us know how you go !
  14. You can get polyester resin from Bunnings. Its the same resin(gelcoat) they use for fiberglassing. Just go to the fiberglass section and get a small tin, some acetone for clean up and a good idea is some thin rubber gloves. Clean the coils down with the acetone to get rid of the carbon deposits. As to the silicon thats gonna be a tough one as the polyester resin wont stick to it at all. You MUST get it all of for it to work. Mineral turps or even Xylol/Xylene and a lot of rubbing with a cloth is best and again finish off with acetone. You will also need some small paint brushes that are NOT synthetic bristles as the styrene monomer in the polyester resin will melt them. Mix up the gelcoat as per instructions on the tin( best to do it in parts as it starts to go off in about 15 mins). Take you brush and start to dab a thin layer all over the body of the coil leaving out the plug area and of coarse the area where the rubber insulator goes over. I gave mine two coats just to be sure. If youve added the catylist (hardener) at the right ratio the it should start to go off in about 15-20mins and be touch dry. Try and put them in the sun for about an hour and they will achieve full cure. That about covers it.
  15. I live at the foot of the Blue Mountains on the outskirts of Sydney. $180 sounds reasonable but how do you tell if they are not suffering the same prob as the ones you've got now ?
  16. Where are you located ? I'll coat the ones that you think are giving you probs for free with polyester resin ! What have you lost ? If it works good ! If it dont them buy the ones you need ! Thats a hell of a saving if it works.
  17. Sorry dude Im in Sydney

  19. Im sure Ive see something similar but it was a very long time ago ! My old timers is kicking in real bad after a few belts ! I think it was on a twin sequential supercharger set up from the late 50s early 60s. Maybe on a 2.6lt inline Alfa 6 engine, maybe a Sebring or a Fiat 6 ! Agrrr ! to many brain cells gone ! But what caught my eye was the Y section was fabricated out of box steel tube which made it easier to hinge the flap at middle of the Y section. The other thing that I remember they were running 42lbs of boost through it on a alcohol mix racing fuel ! Not bad for no intercoolers in their day(man was that an old fart statement!!).
  20. Dont know how decked it is as I got it that way as a job lot. The previous owner had it machined. He also scribed out the combustion chambers and was going to open them up to suit the rb30 the decided to go with a rb26 head instead. Maybe the new rb20det bare head would suit you better. Its ready to go and you can put all your gear into it.
  21. Ive messed about with superchargers over the years ! Maybe a better idea would be a single valve or flap that is mounted at the point where the Y section pipe meets it simply swings back and forth to each side closing of or opening up progressively as needed. Maybe it can be pressure operated from either the turbo or the supercharger ?
  22. Got a silver top, redtop, RB20de and a brand new in the box, bare, RB20det head. Problem is the rocker boxes are off them and I cant tell which is which. The silver top (i think) is a complete top end.
